      @@J_M3444 That's not how that works. Nobody likes wasted space. And I think Milwaukee is a very competitive company so if this gets to the design team, they will probably add it to the list.

    Awesome tip! Love that you’ve found a way to make both sets work without having to toss out one set of trays in favor of a whole new one. Don’t get me wrong…I love the JakeOfAll and the Packout Mod Squad, but it’s also satisfying to be able to slightly tweak something that already there and make it work as if it were designed to!
    Very well done!

    Great work. I converted a packout slim case, (such as the one shown here) , added some foam and cut in for my box wrenches. Got one for sae & metric.

    Smart idea bud! you could spray some rubber sealant under the impact inserts so your chromes don’t get scuffed up if they are touching and you have the clearance that is👍

    they now need to make a packout wrench set. i would like to see a complete SAE or metric set with 1/2" Impacts to match. :)

    Nice job. I personally hate foam inserts for the most part myself. They jus take up space. Idc if tools are gettin scratched up. They are damn tools.

      Or for us Aviation guys, the foam shadow cutouts are crucial to maintain tool accountability. Unaccounted tools can Kill

    Or you can get one of the smaller packout boxes & slide them in & split the sets for easier changeability. I got mine because I priced the snap-on ones, & the Milwaukee ones with a good carrying case is far cheaper than one snap-on socket set. Have a whole set of Milwaukee sockets for the price of a snap-on impact socket set.

      They came in separate cases, this was my solution to having 2 cases. I am keeping the weight lower on my packout set up.

    In sure they make more money from storage than from the actual tool. Just a few boxes will be asking for a bigger truck, pack out be bulky as F. I don't like ridget but their storage are better ( IMO ) fit if dont want a loaded truck. Dewalt storage is alright too

      It's a whopping 35lbs. If you lug them around separately it's still 35lbs.

    I think the one drawback to combining them both into one case is the damn thing is really heavy when both sets are installed like this.

    I like your idea, but I think I might my regular sockets (more commonly used) on top of the impact sockets as I don’t use them as often.

      They should have stated- compatible with x y and z pack out inserts. All they need to do is a cut out on all inserts! I get including the foam to prevent dropping. It’s actually probably meant for your impact driver and batteries. Cut the foam for your product and bam full socket set with impact driver and batteries in one case.

    I think the 3/8ths shockwave case is a slimmer so this hack only works with the 1/2 case

    Now if they would make a compressor that has wheels and is able to be used as the base unit, with these sets attaching on top, it would be damn near perfect.

      @kj3n569 their battery powered impacts put out just as much power as pneumatic impacts. If you haven't tried a good battery-powered impact lately, you should. They are way better than they used to be with lithium battery technology.

      I'm an Electrician, and don't use a compressor at work, but a small one would be great for roofers, finish carpenters or auto mechanics.
      Just a thought; air works better than battery tools for some things.

    Great Hack. Could you fit the 1/2” chrome socket set under the 1/4” and 3/8” sets? Would the sockets and accessories fall out of place?

      No, the box is full with these 2 sets. I realized after I made this video that the chrome sockets fall out when carrying the case by the handle. So I cut out some cardboard to put in between the trays, and it works great.

      They have different sizes, the drives are different sizes, impacts have thicker walls and don't fit in some situations.

      Bought the impact set, waiting on the chromes, to test this. Other than the plastic retaining tabs at the top of the impact set to catch the middle ribs (that I'd cut off), is there another reason? Are the impacts too big to have the chrome set sit flush on top? @@GrimRepair

    Snap on tools just cost way too much bro and go to Harbor freight and get all 10 boxes of tools for what you pay for that one box but if you got it like that go for it
