Because it is not suppose to. The idea is to make the audience believe that Rocky's speech ended with the cold war, when in fact it was Rocky saying that he was gonna leave to US and disappear in misterious ways, that is what ended the cold war in that movie :-P

I liked the message of peace, unity and friendship though.. I'm all for that.. I'm just not for disguised friendship and hypocrisy.. I think this movie (and the propaganda that goes with it) has sort of a symbolic meaning about the triumph of Capitalism over Communism.. However.. my personal favourite was Rambo III.. Remember at the end of the movie.. the closing msg..? "This movie is dedicated to the gallant people of Afghanistan" It's funny how the people of Afghanistan were gallant and brave freedom fighters when they were fighting the Russians with american weapons and afterwards they went back to being terrorists.. Makes you wonder somehow.. :/

No, they are better because they seem to have at least SOME grasp on reality. They are just as corrupt as leaders anywhere in the world, but at least they don't demand that we publicly worship them and feed us to starving dogs or lock us up in gulags for life if they get any impression at all that our worship is less than totally sincere. I'm barely living a middle-class life (maybe), but I still realize that it's better than the vast majority of people in the world throughout history. My family is not being literally starved so there can be giant statues of Barack Obama on every corner. There are a lot of totalitarian leaders who I can try to understand, but the ones in N. Korea don't belong to that group. =)
