I’ve been watching some of your videos lately and it’s so refreshing to listen to an automotive journalist that doesn’t just rip GM to shreds. You’re very fair and objective. Keep up the good work Matt!
I just wish GM had made the rear seats 60/40 fold down. As an Uber driver, I need a more flexible interior. These people coming off of a flight drag a rack of luggage with them.
This Cadillac CT6 is so gorgeous in this red metallic color and the styling is so beautiful and eligant and yet aggressive much more exciting looking than most of the year German competitors it compete against I would pick this over the German competitiors fantastic job Cadillac this will aged many years to come
I really appreciate that you always point out the weight of the vehicle you're reviewing, and compare it to it's competition. 300 to 500 pound differences within a class are huge.
My CT6 3.0 TT gets 30 mpg between MILWAUKEE, Wisconsin and Rochester, MN. Supercruise is amazing. 4 wheel steering and magnetic ride control results in amazing ride and handling. Engine switches between 6 cylinders to 4 cylinders during low demand.

That's a fact best used by your weird uncle during an awkward family reunion. ''Hey Harold how are you?'' ''Doing good, my CT6 has 34 speakers !'' ''Okay? That's nice.'' ''34 SPEAKER T-H-I-R-T-Y F-O-U-R, you heard me THIIIIIRTHY FOOUUUURRRRR how many speakers does your car have huh? Six ??? EIGHT ??'' ''...''
So would you rather have leather around your cup holders ? Sometimes there’s a reason engineers use easier to clean better wearing materials in areas prone to spills and scuffing
Actually, the reviewer misspoke. The material around the cupholders is leather. (leather-wrapped hard material of some sort) But, it's not hard plastic as he stated in his review. So, that's not a justifiable critique.
lol every reviewer has said that cadillac has the best self driving tech in the game. Its funny how the brand that no one counting on doing autonomous stuff actually has the best one, boo for you tesla, mercedes and especially bmw
Sic Semper Beats Cadillac can’t call their car, can’t self park the car by default, can’t drive in normal traffic etc etc. also consider, Tesla has had their technologies since 2016.
FSAPO did that mean they implemented in such a scale as Tesla did? Tesla fat extended the EV technology and the infrastructure for EVs as well. The only reason other manufacturers are suddenly jumping on this EV bandwagon is because all the ground work is done. Tesla’s Battery technologies were made public knowledge, therefore easy for other manufacturers to pick it up and call it their own. GM was the first in recent times, but they weren’t revolutionary.
@@huythai1222 Tesla cannot offer 100% self driving due to government regulations, but Cadillac can. Teslas cannot self drive in normal traffic, or any kind of traffic.
Vernon Price explain to me then, if it can’t drive in normal traffic, why can it use summon or auto parking in normal traffic? Either way, Cadillac’s autonomous tech is pretty new, Tesla’s has been out since 2016. Once the models receive the next level of autonomy it’ll be just like 2016 again.
@@huythai1222 "explain to me then, if it can’t drive in normal traffic, why can it use summon or auto parking in normal traffic?' Legally, they can't on public roads, and parking is not considered self driving. Cadillacs have had self parking for a LONG time. Again, this is due to government regulations that require driver monitoring in order to approve self driving, which is why Cadillac's system is allowed and Tesla's isn't. "Either way, Cadillac’s autonomous tech is pretty new, Tesla’s has been out since 2016." But Tesla's is not LEGAL. To make it legal, Tesla will have to implement the same kind of driver monitoring that Cadillac's Supercruise uses. Can't really make it any clearer than that.
I had one as a rental car and very impressed by the driving dynamics and feel of the car. I’ll strongly consider one in 2-3 years when they’re in the mid $30Ks.
Yeah the price will drop and it will be an amazing value in 3 years. Since you're saving tons of money anyway just get an extended warranty and you get the same coverage as new.
Beautiful cars are a dime a dozen, but the lines of this car speak to the soul. This is an instant classic, Cadillac should really take it to every corner of the globe.
Prior to 1967 Eldorados were rear wheel drive. In 1957 and 1958 they were four door cars with reverse hinged doors. However the fwd Eldorados from 1968-1978 was where the Eldorado became an icon.
I have owned and driven many Mercedes BMWs and alike. They are mostly unreliable vehicles very expensive but you get the panache or the bragging rights or whatever you want to call it. The Cadillac ct6 in almost this exact trim is what I've owned for the past 2 years and it is by far better than any foreign brand I have ever owned in my life! Just an exquisite super reliable amazing vehicle
Those are you ragging on Cadillac because of this car, keep this in mind: Lincoln Continental is just a Ford Fusion in a suit and the Chrysler 300 is old and tired
Chrysler 300 isn’t even luxury, Chrysler themselves said that they’re not a luxury brand anymore. They’ve been the successor to Plymouth since 2015. Along with the fact that the 300 is a Taurus/Impala rival
I'm sure you already know this, but I highly recommend driving on both Duff Road and Roosevelt road. They are close to the filming location, and they are absolutely incredible driving roads.
Amazing what a mid-cycle refresh’s does. From a boring looking boat to arguably one of the best looking large sedans. The CT6 is also very reasonably priced for what it is. I know that interior quality isn’t up there with the likes Lexus and Mercedes, but honestly with those looks, it’s strong athletic performance, and Super Cruise, the CT-6 is the large premium sedan class best kept secret.
Excellent review, Matt. I have a new 2019 CT6 and really like the refreshed design. I had to get rid of a very troublesome 2017 CT6 and have found that the new 10 speed transmission on the 2019 is much better than the clunky 8 speed transmission in the 2016-18 series. Many of those have been bought back or being auctioned as lemons with transmission issues. Fortunately, Cadillac has redeemed itself with the 2019. Overall, it's a beautiful sedan. I agree about the interior. In my opinion, it's a generic GM interior with Cadillac logos, with all its stiff surfaces, plastic and fake looking wood. Certainly not as luxurious as its more expensive competitors, but that's what makes it affordable. It's all that I can expect these days from GM at this price point.
Bill _ I agree with you mostly. But I must say GM can definitely do more with the interiors even at the more affordable price point then their German rivals. I will say their exteriors have been class leading for years now. From the looks of the XT4, XT6, and CT5 Cadillac is moving in the right direction as far as interiors go. The CT5’s interior is absolutely gorgeous yet simplistic, a step up from 2019. I’m pretty excited about my potential next car, new Cadillac CT5.😬
Great review- appreciate the detail with the console, options and touch screen... one of the better reviews in this regard. Solid coverage. Can see the enjoyment you are having driving the vehicle... Super Cruise rocks! I think you hit all the points (positive, negative) nicely.
I test drove both the 3.0 turbo and 3.6 naturally aspirated. The turbo is the best NO turbo lag. But the turbo engine is noiser than the naturally aspirated and the shifts are not smooth as the naturally aspirated. Handling is good. Cadillac performance and comfort are better than Lexus ES and LS, on par with Mercedes E and S-classthat I test drove.
ACTUALLY that center cover that you complained about is carbon fiber or real wood in other trims. It is like that in the sport so that it is dressed down and easy to clean. However, can be had in other real materials.
I think that they should make the Buick Avenir concept car as was planned for this chassis but since they’re using that name I nominate the name Wildcat. Also since Lincoln is making a six inch stretch version of the Continental with rear hinged doors and a rear seat executive package I think that Cadillac should build a six inch stretch with an executive package and call it the CT60 Special.
Good review. One issue: Super Cruise does not "request for you to take over every once in a while." The only thing it requires you to do is change lanes if you wish to do so. Otherwise, you can go as long as the road will let you without touching the wheel. For example, I rode with Super Cruise between downtown Dallas and Fort Worth (about 30 miles) and touched the steering wheel two times the whole trip to change lanes. Otherwise, the car handled the rest with ease. It is a true semi autonomous driving system, unlike anything else on the market. The CT6 absolutely blows competing vehicles out of the water.
In my experience, yes, Super Cruise did request for me to take over every once in a while because it either got confused by the road lines or just got overwhelmed for another mysterious reason. It is not perfect still.
I love this Cadillac but I just saw the 2020 Genesis G80 and sadly it makes this Caddy looks cheap.. Specially in the interior. Cadillac have some of the most beautiful concept cars but sadly they don't produce them. There was a point in history when Cadillac was considered the most luxurious in the word.
This is a company car with driver vehicle. Perfect for sitting in the back working or shotgun. Too busy or occupied to notice little details but comfortable enough to handle shuttling between meetings in and out and home. Not so expensive that the shareholders lobby to remove management but safe enough to preserve the executive chain. But not dazzling enough for the executive to spend his own hard earned money to feel level with the Jones next door with their S Class s550. Still will be a large enough market for Caddy.

I've always admired Cadillac and I think they executed this car beautifully. So what has always held me back from getting one? They sell a ton to rental car companies and in my opinion it diminishes the brand image in a major way. I live in Los Angeles and whenever I ask a Cadillac driver how they like their car they say 'Dunno, it's a rental'. That happens 90% of the time. So, I always end up in BMW, Audi or Benz. I think the only way I would give Cadillac a shot is if they offered an insane lease deal that's much less per month versus a similarly priced German competitor. Otherwise, why bother?
You are probably too young but the 1990/91 honda prelude had 4 wheel steering. The commercials for it had Jackie Mason again you probably don't know him had him explaining what happened to the wheels on the prelude you should search for the commercial

Review: 2019 Cadillac CT6 Sport 3.0TT AWD - Next-Level Luxury!
When is the V version being released? Hope you'll be one of the first to review it Matt. Dont forget to floor it when you do!
Matt, is there anyway you can do a road test for a Buick Regal GS awd? Can you also talk with Cadillac and schedule to do a review on the upcoming CT4 and CT5 sedans? Uber driver who needs the info!
Such a beautiful design by Cadillac
Sport trim. In my best theory I would assume they're making an aggressive attempt to push platinum trim level and soon to be V trim level sales.
I’m pumped for the ct8 that’ll go nuts😂
Dream car !
This color would be perfect with the V version which has the Blackwing V8. I want to see how that car pulls on the Autobahn.
@27:40 the CT6 can detect any pedestrian, whether alive or dead. Gnarly.
Are you going to review a 4.2TT? Not the V version.....since you can't get Super Cruise on the V.
Im torn between this car and a Kia Stinger GT2. Besides luxury, can you help me ?
