  • Often when Christians today think of the Holy Spirit's work in worship, they anticipate that if he is working, then there will be high euphoria, and surprising, spontaneous outbursts of praise. But is that really how we ought to expect the Spirit to work in corporate worship?

Thank you for your teaching. However the text you mention from Matthew 18:20 is about the authority we are given as believers in a situation of sin in the church. Please read that verse in its context of 18:12-35. (I think I saw good teaching from Voddie Baucham on that scripture.) Reference Deuteronomium 19:15 about rightful whitnesses, they need to be 2 or 3, then they have authority.
And excuse my bad English. I speak Dutch.
    May God bless you!

      Yes true, church discipline

Yeah, the Matthew 18 reference caught me off guard a little bit. I was actually just speaking about that with some colleagues at work this morning, how that text gets used incorrectly or not contextually.

Does Matthew 18 not talk about church discipline and not about where two or more meet there is His Spirit?

Yep. That's the context of that passage

I'm confused, I guess, in the undiscernment in which John Piper was allowed at the Shepherd's conference. The man teaches antonomianism, is a continuous, and proclaims we aren't justified until we get to heaven.
Also, his fellowship is horrible as he attends the passion conference every year, fellowships with Rick Warren, and praised Tim Keller, who was a heretic as well.
Why do we feel that disobeying the commandment of secondary separation is ok?
Nobody at G3, GRACE, or LEGIONER will respond. 🤷‍♂️
Hoping for an answer or action to be taken. God bless

So, in your eyes, John MacArthur must lack discernment by inviting John Piper to the Shepherd's conference.

@HearGodsWord Yes, according to scripture, it appears so.
It's just as ridiculous as the pre-trib rapture.

@@ericmchenryil5186 Jesus had fellowship with tax collectors and prostitute so he must also have lacked discernment. See where your complaining has taken you. Now we see what's really ridiculous.
