My favorite tip to share is using a calendar and planning our meals a week or two at a time. Then I pull any recipes and clip them to the calendar. It is simple to look back in the calendar for ideas if I’m stuck. Then I make out my grocery list according to what we are having for dinner the next week.
I love this. I think that sometimes, we draw a huge divide between career women and women who stay home, like we're different species. But we're really more alike than the media would make us out to be! I'm getting started with publishing and marketing a new homemaking system. Maybe next time you do a systems round up, there will be 6 instead of 5! 😉
Love this! I'm not a homemaker, but there were so many things in this video I could implement. I was also thinking that if one wanted to digitize the index card system, Trello would work well for that. Thanks for encouraging us to stop comparing and be ourselves!
Great video & tips. I can’t watch videos any more of people making homemade bread or cooking every meal from scratch. They make me feel so guilty. There’s nothing wrong with shop bought bread & fish fingers etc. I also can’t watch videos where they’re speed cleaning & every thing is sped up & has music in the background. Too discouraging for me. The 2 people who have helped me are Daryl Hoole & Denyse Schofield. Denyse’s books completely changed how I organised stuff in my kitchen etc.
Oh man, it can be so tough! In the early days, I prioritize the things for us that keep the house running: dishes and laundry. Anything that gets done beyond that is icing on the cake. I gradually add other things as I feel able, but I don’t rush it. The exhaustion is no joke, and if I have a chance to rest, I take it. We’re often so hard on ourselves, but the reality is that almost everything can wait until tomorrow. Caring for myself and baby is priority number one. Hope that helps! ❤️
Loved these!
You are such an encouragement ❤
Thank you for the kind words! 😊

Yes, Trello would be a great option! 😊

Yep, I totally get that. Good to know those names, I’ll have to look them up! 😊
Do you have any tips on how to manage your household when you are exhausted from being up at night with the newborn?
