I agree with your ideas 100%. Less is more. Owning less material possessions means requiring less work to keep the kitchen organized and clean, less need for an extra-large kitchen, less procrastination for keeping the counters clean because there will be less clutter to deal with, less need to hire a cleaning service, less money wasted on buying extra pots, pans, appliances etc. LESS STRESS which is priceless!!
For an idea, start with one of everything (one mug that does hot and cold drinks, one bowl, one knife etc) and no small appliances... then add a new item every time you need it until you reach a comfortable level that suits your need.
Minimalism is highly underrated but very rewarding I agree that it can be a challenge with kids to keep a home clutter free, but it creates a stress free atmosphere 😊❤
Touche :D and who wouldn't want a stress free atmosphere! I read a book recently that talked about how men and women's brains operate so differently and how typically for women, all the excess stuff is literally screaming at us (silently) for attention, and that's what creates the stress. It's no wonder there's a direct correlation between clutter and stress. And I agree, so underrated, yet so satisfying! Thanks for stopping by :)
@Jules-740 I understand! My husband is a Chef so we faced a bit of the same problem, but I think putting items away in a box to see what we *actually* used versus what was 'nice to have' really helped. What are some of the tools? :)
I haven't owned a dishwasher for most of my adult life and never missed it. You won't either! Two saucepans, one small saute pan. One set of stainless utensils. I do bake some so have one set of measuring utensils, but no mixer, no coffeepot. I switched to instant and like it so much better. I could go on but the point is you and your family will be fine with less. It's fun 🤩
Oooh we didn't have a dishwasher either and we were fine! Until we had a child lol, but having said that I think we've finally been able to learn the minimalist way to parent and you're right - now we don't miss it. I think we're used to solving so many of life's problems by 'adding' instead of taking a second to think about what we could maybe 'subtract' instead. And like you said - so much more fun this way :) Thanks for watching!
Adding to this, you dont need a cookie pan, and if you have a lil more time to pan fry your toast, you don't need a toaster. Or kettle. Or coffee maker.
I haven’t had a dishwasher by choice for about 27 years. It reduced my daily frustration immensely and immediately. Other Women complain that the dishes are never put away, many come out still dirty or food is stuck on, they have to basically wash them anyway before loading the dishwasher, a lot of dishes and pans can’t go in the dishwasher because they will get messed up, etc, but they still think I am the silly one. 🙄🫠
@SimplyBeautiful516 isn't it crazy?! We get all these things to improve our lives but they just end up complicating things, haha. I did feel like I 'needed' one with more stuff in the kitchen but with less, life is so much simpler. But I definitely agree about that daily frustration evaporating - it's profound the difference it makes to remove that appliance :D
love this calming video, most declutter videos are so are so manic

Totally, especially the stress - that is probably my favourite part of the whole thing... life is so much more fun without it! Thanks for watching :)
@@80TENTEN correct, less is so much more. Something about decluttering just brings me joy,
This is a great idea, one of everything. Cant wait to start living like this. ❤

Kitchen is the hardest for me to declutter because I like all the tools I can have.

Please go on about the kitchen. What is your inventory?
We have a dishwasher but it is never used.

Lovely video... Hope your experiment works. Watching from south Africa.
@lindagovender4546 thank you! So amazing to have this video being watched in South Africa - I've always wanted to visit. Maybe one day soon :)
less things. Space is golden 😊
@FAMOFSIX golden indeed! Also 'less but better' is a rule I like (courtesy of design legend Dieter Rams) :)

Can hear. Poor sound.
