The ending scene in this trailer shows exactly what I love about this movie. It's a horror movie, without the jumpscares. Instead it replaces those jumpscares with insanely tense moments, playing on the human fear of the unknown. Look at the Conjuring 2, you see the Nun walk into one of the main character's office. What do you think the Nun will do? If you've seen any movie in the Conjuring universe you should already know the answer, she's gonna try to startle you, rinse and repeat and boom, you got arguably the most successful horror movie universe out there. Now look at the end scene of this trailer, if you hadn't seen the movie before, what do you think she's doing? Sleeping most likely, but the way it's shot leaves it up to the audience to imagine what's going on. Is she sleeping? or is she secretly staring right at him? is her mouth open? Is she smiling? The camera angle leaves it a mystery, thus creating tension coupled with humanities' greatest fear: the unknown.
This exact scene, when i was little i used to sleep with my mother and ive always had trouble sleeping right away, i wanted to keep talking or so with her but i endend up just looking at the stuff in the room in almost no light, i turned to my mother to see if she was awake but there was no light, I couldn't say anything because she would get mad if i woke her and i waited and waited for her to move or something i was very little, one time i got scared because i watched horror films without my parents permission, my imagination was blooming so all i had was my mothers face with just a line of light outlining her face, and what other nights was fun, that night was eternity.
Jumpscares can be done poorly. But so can slow burn horror. Kinda annoying when people act like slow burn os always better. Mario Bava's Shock has one of my favorote creepy scenes ever and the neat part of it is a jumpscare
Watch this film now. Right now. Do not pay attention to the bullshit 2 star rating on netflix. Everyone is a critic now days. This movie is a work of art. As a horror/thriller movie addict. I give it a major thumbs up.
Funny thing I found out: the rating on Netflix is an assumption of what you might like according to your views and previous ratings and movies you said you liked. So, for example, this movie could have 2 stars for you and 5 for me.
As someone who has endured numerous psychosis, (diagnosed Schizoaffective) I will say this film hits hard, it is solid, real and raw. I thank everyone who took part in the making of this Film. Fantastic job.
Im schizophrenic too! I didnt breathe the last twenty minutes of the movie, because i was like Holy shit. His friend is trusting him, hes about to do it!! Lol One of the best psychological thrillers ive ever seen.
What I love about this movie more than the horror elements is the showcasing of friendship between the two main characters. I like how truly believable they are as friends, watching it reminds me of myself and my friends, and it was very interesting how they end up helping each other get through their problems.
this movie is unsettling, it's not 'HORROR'. It's actually really beautiful. The storyline is pretty simple, I don't understand the confusion around it. I think most people who are confused probably walked into this trying to find some sort of paranormal movie but it's actually very realistic and largely about mental health rather than demons. there are some 'horror' type moments in it but the majority of the film is more of a psychological drama in my opinion.
I agree. This is one of those movies that doesn't rely on a genre, but rather incorporates all the goodness from all the genres. What a damn good movie :)
to Xavier Foisse Read a book. I work with people suffering from these conditions and to say this is pure ignorance. These people can 100% have positive outcomes when people take the time to understand instead of using superstitions to categorize something people never see as "evil". This is the misinformation that stigmatizes mental illness into something we can't confront or talk about in healthy ways. The stigmas around mental health create an uniformed populous. Almost everyone at some point in their lives will have a mental health issue. Saying it is evil does nothing and is unbased speculation propagated by ignorance.
Xavier Foisse do you realize that ppl who have these illnesses are trying too hard to convince themselves that it's not true but when they see stupid comments like yours they start to believe that what they are hearing is true
I love this movie!! I show it to everyone who will watch. It's creepy and disconcerting, but there's moments of genuine sweetness. It's tense and well shot. Definitely one of my favorites and it's one of my comfort movies.
Amazing indie film that showcases the struggles of mental illness and not knowing what is real...Truly underrated, it's a shame movies like this aren't appreciated like they should be.
Mars Nicole I guess I stopped really paying to much attention to it cuz it was so slow but what do u mean? Was he crazy that's what I thought. Can u please explain it to me I would really appreciate it! Was this all in his mind? Maybe I'm just stupid cuz I didn't really understand please help! :)
+Custom Lioness Really? you want someone to explain the entire plot of the movie for you here, in the comments for the trailer? If you've already seen the film go to the IMDB boards to discuss....
Tony Lawrence Was I talking to u?? Not the the whole plot dip shit read it again just wanted to know if it was in his mind or what! Why don't u Just mind ur own business!!
So for those of you who want to know what the movies about: It's about a guy with schizophrenia who believes evil creatures are infecting and taking over people's bodies, and his friend who tries to help him with it, even going as far as putting his own life on the line.
Fantastic movie. If you're here for the typical jumpscare gore horror affair, keep moving. This is a psychological thriller with a very heavy emphasis on character development and it does it very well.
I know this is a trailer and they don't want to give away too much. But this trailer didn't give me a clue as to what it is and I'm too tire to care. Goodnite
+More Sugar Even when you´re watching the movie youre not gonna have a clue to whats happening, I really liked the movie it was different, weird, original.
+Brave-heart I wasn´t a big fan of the end, it wasn´t very clear why he got fired and why would he trust so mutch in a friend he didn´t see for years and when he knew he had mental problems, very confusing but it made my brain work and imagine multiple explanations.
Just watched this one a few hours ago but gotta say I definitely recommend it. The first 10 or so minutes are kind of hard to get through because the production isn't the best (especially the camera work, oh god) and the acting seems pretty clunky at first, but oh boy, is this movie fucking great at suspense and really developing its characters. Rarely does a movie genuinely make me tense but this one actually had me on the edge of seat (well, couch) for a good part of the movie.
Anyone notice those Magic: The Gathering cards in the box? That brings back memories. I want to be their roommate, without Wyatt's hallucinations, though.
Great trailer. Was the movie very scary? No, not really. Was it worth seeing? I'm going to say yes. For what it was, it was a worthwhile watch and highly engaging.
The movie is more than just a horror film that tackles mental illness but it also tackles trust and conquering obstacles in life in which a persons inner voices would drive us to either positive or negative light as we are in control of it. There are some symbolisms which makes it even more artistically eloquent. Everyone should see it, its a rare kind of horror movie.
This looks incredible. I'm still coming down from the Amazingness of The Witch, and this looks to be a creepy slow build as well. As for the trailer- it's perfect. Clearly some paranoia, maybe warranted, maybe not. I don't understand people's confusion...listen to the voice over...pretty well spells it out, I think.
Let me guess...big Entourage fan? I can't believe boring is the adjective you went with. The Witch is a slow, atmospheric build, sure, but pretty fucking far from boring. Some incredible acting, and every shot is so haunting and deliberate. Also nice to see a director with the balls to give us a proper ending for once as well. I must know- what DO you like in terms of horror movies?
I forgot about this movie. Ive seen before and i actually loved it. I think its creepy and suspenseful. Its kinda like Hereditary before Hereditary. Such an underrated horror movie.
Ive seen in the comment section that they would never consider this movie as a horror because it lacks the elements to be considered a legit kind horror movie. They would see this as a psychological drama or thriller just because this movie is way smarter than a stereotypical horror movie and it tackles mental illness. Its frustratung that horror movies are misunderstood, just because its horror movie that does not mean it has to be shocking or blood curdling. People please, dont deny the genre of this movie as horror because it is horror. It shows the horrifying insight of people who are experiencing mental illness on which it should be initiated inorder for them not to cause any danger to their friends, family and loved ones.😐😐😐😐😐😐
Interesting. People complaining that the trailer didn't show enough and I'm thinking that they showed a bit too much. Either way, it's a great film and certainly glad the trailer wasn't overindulgent like so many that show the entire movie and leave nothing to be discovered.
Great trailer! Really ominous, the juxtaposition of the female voice, which sounds like that of an oracle speaking deep and mysterious truths, and the buzzing insect noises at the end.
Andres Guardado yea. I just really couldn't take it seriously. I did enjoy the movie but it was missing alot of key points that I think would've made it better

It's a colossal waste of 1 hr 19 mins. Don't believe me? go on n fritter away your time!!!

its one of those movies where it can be seen as boring if you are expecting a typical horror movie but if you go into it with patience then its worth it
People can never be fucking happy can they? Trailer reveals too much? y'all complain. Trailer barely reveals anything so you can watch the movie and actually enjoy it? y'all complain.
To me, this movie gave some solid insight on a schizophrenic persons point of view. Probably won’t like it if you’re expecting some Conjuring like shit, but if you like psychological tricks you’d probably like this movie.
I just saw the movie i had no idea of what the hell is happening its not even horror there is nothing unusual (monster, killer somthing like that) its like somthing worng with that guy's head

It's fucking amazing I watched this late at night and I'm not scared , but as someone who loves writing and stories , this movie will make you just say "wow" . It left me kinda scared though in a way no spoilers haha
***Spoiler*** Alberto Einstein Nothing really happens. We see the daily lives of two men. One has a mental illness that makes him get phone calls that tell him not to trust anyone and see distorted faces on a girl. He believes monsters or aliens are taking over and have "chosen" him for... something? At the end he ties his best friend up and is about to pour acid on him because he believes the friend is turning into a monster. He doesn't then they hug. The end. You're welcome. I'm sure someone else can give you a "deeper meaning" synopsis, but I didn't really care for the movie so that's how I viewed it. I was only halfway paying attention anyway. As many people have said, if you're looking for a typical horror story this isn't it. I read the comments of this trailer and thought I would give it a try even with the above knowledge, and it's just not my schtick.
i watched the trailer and had no idea what this movie was about. i watched the movie and i still have no idea what the movie was about
Right!?
I watched the movie and I have no idea what the trailer is about.
I watched the trailer then realized I have no TV.......
I have a TV but don't care to see the movie after that trailer
I watched my TV but they never said anything about the trailer, this trailer didnt mention my TV..

I haven't watch this movie yet, im between this and the banshee chapter for todays dose of horror.
Jumpscares can be done poorly. But so can slow burn horror. Kinda annoying when people act like slow burn os always better. Mario Bava's Shock has one of my favorote creepy scenes ever and the neat part of it is a jumpscare
the pnly reason im gonna watch this movie, is for this review ,,, wp
So essentially what horror is suppose to be. Tense and bone chilling lmao.
Watch this film now. Right now. Do not pay attention to the bullshit 2 star rating on netflix. Everyone is a critic now days. This movie is a work of art. As a horror/thriller movie addict. I give it a major thumbs up.
I agree! I was about to pass it off from the Netflix rating but I saw the positive comments on this video and decided to watch it.
+Tasha Aries_Babe Same. After I read some of the comments here, I decided to give it a go and I'm absolutely glad I did!
Thanks going to give this a try
+millzz05 it's amazing and now almost has 5 stars on there so yeah
Funny thing I found out: the rating on Netflix is an assumption of what you might like according to your views and previous ratings and movies you said you liked. So, for example, this movie could have 2 stars for you and 5 for me.

Absolutely one of my all time favorite movies. I've probably watched it 6 times over the years and it still freaks me out. Absolutely brilliant.
I love this movie!!
I show it to everyone who will watch. It's creepy and disconcerting, but there's moments of genuine sweetness. It's tense and well shot. Definitely one of my favorites and it's one of my comfort movies.
It's also a very realistic portrayal of mental illness.
Trailer tells entire movie.. people get mad. Trailer is vague.. people still get mad. What do you people want exactly?
Both lol
I loved their friendship!
This movie is better than at least 80% of the mainstream horror movies out there.
The ending shot of this trailer is very creepy. Love it.
Amazing indie film that showcases the struggles of mental illness and not knowing what is real...Truly underrated, it's a shame movies like this aren't appreciated like they should be.
+Sosozanyway Could not agree more[Good film]and scary.
damn, that last shot in the trailer is so chilling, i love it!!! great movie, very underrated.
I absolutely enjoyed this movie.
U really did I'm 23 mins into it and it's so boring, does it get better??
Mars Nicole I guess I stopped really paying to much attention to it cuz it was so slow but what do u mean? Was he crazy that's what I thought. Can u please explain it to me I would really appreciate it! Was this all in his mind? Maybe I'm just stupid cuz I didn't really understand please help! :)

This movie was SUPER WELL DONE! Five stars!
This movie was beautiful. Poetic
Wonderful movie. So well done!
Fantastic movie. If you're here for the typical jumpscare gore horror affair, keep moving. This is a psychological thriller with a very heavy emphasis on character development and it does it very well.
Hell yes, this looks chilling.
I know this is a trailer and they don't want to give away too much. But this trailer didn't give me a clue as to what it is and I'm too tire to care.
Goodnite
^ same
I know right!
+More Sugar Even when you´re watching the movie youre not gonna have a clue to whats happening, I really liked the movie it was different, weird, original.
***** you're right! Thats exactly it. I scratched my head at the end
+Brave-heart I wasn´t a big fan of the end, it wasn´t very clear why he got fired and why would he trust so mutch in a friend he didn´t see for years and when he knew he had mental problems, very confusing but it made my brain work and imagine multiple explanations.
This was a very good movie! His best friend was a cutie pie and a good friend!
The second most beautiful thing i ever saw, the first one is the girl who uploaded this.
Are you as mentally deranged as the main character
I just watched this movie completely blind/ignorant to the plot, and holy shit, what an intense flick. Watch it on Netflix before it's gone!
Just watched this one a few hours ago but gotta say I definitely recommend it. this movie was really good, it is weird nowadays to find a good psychological horror film like this one
This movie is so good. Perfect thriller
Great trailer. Was the movie very scary? No, not really. Was it worth seeing? I'm going to say yes. For what it was, it was a worthwhile watch and highly engaging.
one of the worst movies i have ever seen
just finished this, I actually liked it a lot.
Ive seen the movie lately this afternoon and it was epic! By far one of the best horror films ive seen
If you haven't see it yet, it's quite impressive.
I had to hang in there at first...but it actually turned out to be good.
This movie is fantastic you should go in with no more information than what is given in the trailer, definitely check it out
minimalistic horror : nothing happens
The movie is actually pretty decent! i liked it.
Omg the witch was the most boring movie I've seen in a LONG time. Just watched it last night. Very uneventful
The Witch sucked horribly. Boring AF, lame and extremely pointless
I liked this movie a lot
Me to definitely going to watch it now!
I forgot about this movie. Ive seen before and i actually loved it. I think its creepy and suspenseful. Its kinda like Hereditary before Hereditary. Such an underrated horror movie.

Horror should not always be associated with the supernatural you know.
amazing trailer
Chicago International Film Festival

Fri 10/23 @ 3:00 PM.
Interesting. People complaining that the trailer didn't show enough and I'm thinking that they showed a bit too much. Either way, it's a great film and certainly glad the trailer wasn't overindulgent like so many that show the entire movie and leave nothing to be discovered.
Great movie, but not for people with the attention span of a goldfish.
@First Name Last Name you again...
lmaa
Great trailer! Really ominous, the juxtaposition of the female voice, which sounds like that of an oracle speaking deep and mysterious truths, and the buzzing insect noises at the end.
Where can I watch it?
Netflix
If you haven't seen this and are looking for a good horror movie, just go watch it right now before finding out anymore details.
Yes
I'm watching this right now for the first time. I had to watch the trailer so I can get an idea of what's to come. I'm at the 30 minute mark.
Where can I watch it
@@Shrihitaaa you’re probably better off not watching it.
This was lowkey motivating
anyone know the choral piece that plays in the background?
good movie
I honestly found this more funny than scary. I understood the bigger point but it just wasn't a scary movie to me. still well worth the watch
Justin Datkins not a horror movie though
Andres Guardado what would you call it?
Justin Datkins psychological thriller/suspense
Andres Guardado yea. I just really couldn't take it seriously. I did enjoy the movie but it was missing alot of key points that I think would've made it better
Justin Datkins I enjoyed it but I can definitely see what you mean. It was a low budget indie film, kinda reminds me of The Invitation
With FAITH the size of a mustard seed...the Mountains will crumble and be laid low. -Jesus
Travis-2313 sounds like something they would quote on Criminal Minds
Pretending to know things does not move mountains.

you are a fictional character
knowing them do.
this movie completely below my mind i wasn't satisfied with the ending like that's it but overall is great movie
Galad H You mean above
I hate every single person that said this was a good movie to watch
So what i got out of this is that the movie is about killer bananas.
Not my style. It's a pretty movie, but I didn't get anything from it.
What is that poem thing from its so calming
I love thrillers, psychological or otherwise, however I can see that there are some phonies out here who are trying to mislead people by recommending this movie and averring it's a nice attempt but it's not... It's a colossal waste of 1 hr 19 mins. Don't believe me? go on n fritter away your time!!!
netflix brought me here
I'm so glad they're doing a movie on schizophrenia and paranoia. I have psychosis and often psychotic breaks so I'd like to enjoy watching this.
You would think it was going to be a movie about aliens in a disguise of humans.... that come and eat the brains out. Base on the title imo
Can somebody please explain this? I liked the movie, but feel I'm missing something about the ending.. I know it has something to do with mental health, but I'm unsure about a few things..
Tyler Tompkins (spoilers)
We teeter on two possible scenarios throughout the movie-- 1) the monsters exist or 2) Wyatt suffers from an undiagnosed psychological disorder, the outcome being the latter. There is no grand unveiling of any kind; Wyatt overcomes his hallucinations and recognizes it's his friend, and not a monster, before he causes Christian any harm. +Schewe well said.😊😊😊
So I saw this movie is on Netlfix, is it worth my time?
yes
its one of those movies where it can be seen as boring if you are expecting a typical horror movie but if you go into it with patience then its worth it
No

Anyone know the back ground music ??
help please , i just want to know the background music :)
It's so scary. I screamed
I was scared. Anyone else ?
I am here because MacLeod Andrews will be voicing Whitestorm.
Answer: Dip a potent poison on a spear ;)
A trailer that told me not to watch the movie. Thanks Trailer
Wow, this movie is fucking fantastic to me. Watching this I was sooooo uncomfortable.
is this a superhero movie ?
Someone took the concept of "They Live", which is not a bad thing.
+Spike Lovecraft Nope. It's about schizophrenia, not alien sunglasses
Peter Johnson LOL
People can never be fucking happy can they? Trailer reveals too much? y'all complain. Trailer barely reveals anything so you can watch the movie and actually enjoy it? y'all complain.
great film check it out on netflix gave us the chills type suspense scaryy
To me, this movie gave some solid insight on a schizophrenic persons point of view. Probably won’t like it if you’re expecting some Conjuring like shit, but if you like psychological tricks you’d probably like this movie.
Who's the woman speaking? "You are a mountain" etc...
Where's it from is what I mean
In the movie, it is revealed
*SPOILERS*
That it is a "pump up" message left by a main character's (I believe) ex-fiance. Super emotional.
Nathan Riddle oh and yeah super emotional
was going to watch this, until I saw the trailer.
I just saw the movie i had no idea of what the hell is happening its not even horror there is nothing unusual (monster, killer somthing like that) its like somthing worng with that guy's head
I’m so confused
I need this voice recording. where is it from?
from this movie
+PhillyPsycho 215 Well thanks.
+PhillyPsycho 215 Hahaha
ok everyone is saying that its good but is it scary? i want to shit myself scared here
I was stoned when I watched this and I found it terrifying, although it may have just been the weed. If you're paitient, I am confident you will find this to be a very tense movie. There aren't jump scares, but the horror relies on the build up.
Dylan Woods is fat
lunarpark it's a psychological thriller/drama, not a horror film
The trailer was so vague they really could of gave us just something as to what the movie is about!!
It's not plot heavy. But highly recommend
It's fucking amazing I watched this late at night and I'm not scared , but as someone who loves writing and stories , this movie will make you just say "wow" .
It left me kinda scared though in a way no spoilers haha
This seems influenced by “They Live”. Any woke person knows that movie.
yess can u suggest more woke movies / series like that i love these types
plzzzzz recommend me someee
Be careful they might be listening.
It's pretty vague
Sounds like Charlotte Nicdao
I came here from snapchat
Is this The Ring scary or is it The Babadook scary?
More of the babadook scary, it's a slow burn, but it's awesome.
This movie was awful and not scary at all.
dammit, not even about selling the condom but talking about bras
Good movie, but the ending was frustrating
If you've had psychosis this movie will hit
Absolutely! One of my favorite movies, since I can relate so much!
can someone just spoil the movie I'm to lazy to watch it
***Spoiler***
Alberto Einstein Nothing really happens.
I hope the person who did the voice over isn't in the film, hearing it for less than a minute was bad enough.
