My brother used to watch these television shows like "storage wars", and I was just imagining a big tattoed guy finding your collection of childhood diaries in some storage unit and thinking "jackpot!"
I don't know how I've missed this video until now! It's such a sincere and relaxing video! Thanks for letting me hang out while you fluff about with your pens, as I say. I managed to clean out two pens today. But then I filled up three other ones. Wanted to have fewer ones inked, but felt like I wanted to compare a few ones and was missing one ink colour, so yeah, more pens up and running again.
I LOVE all of your recent content (& the old stuff too!) I’ve never used a fountain pen before but they sell them in a store near where I live so maybe I’ll pick one up next time I’m there. 🖊 Thanks for sharing all of your amazing collections & hobbies with us over the years- your vids are so inspiring to watch! ♥️
Brenda_TV XD thank you so much! I hope you swing by that store! They’re like having a little pet. Each pen distinct and unique, with its own personality, and demands, ha
No problem! I went by that store today & got a LAMY Al Star fountain pen 🖋. The guy helping me said it was a good make & model for beginners- thanks again for the inspiration!! 😘
Brenda_TV XD oh congratulations!!!! Have you been using it? What are your thoughts? I used my first fountain pen for three years before collecting more. I was just so content with it.
Yes!! I love it so much. I’ve only written 4 journal pages with it but it’s interesting how it starts to learn how you write & tries to help you make it look better (sounds weird, I know 😳). But thanks again for an introduction into a hobby I never knew existed- I seriously look forward to more fountain pen updates! 🥰🖋
Brenda_TV XD it’s so true. It’s so true! These pens do indeed adapt to your writing style and tune into you. As they don’t require hardly any pressure too, it allows a more relaxed and fluid writing style and so much improvement comes out of that! They have very unique personalities as well.
Hi Linda, Lefty people use fountain pens too. You might have to adjust your style if you are a side /over hand writer. So it's just a matter of trying a cheap disposable fountain pen like PILOT VARSITY where the ink dries fast. Don't sell yourself short because you are a lefty. Fountain pen writes smooth and great with no effort.
I consider the realisation - that we take a greater degree of responsibility for our vintage writing instruments - indeed, all our writing acquisitions (generally), as a natural progression. As a Junior school pupil, we were issued with an elongated 'Bic' branded school pen - it was royal blue, with a hexagonal black cap, & a steel nib - cheap as chips as the expression goes, here...but I loved that pen - I also drew with it (at home); cartridge-fill (that seemed to last forever)....that is where my passion began....it wasn't until I went to university that I reinstated my relationship with fountain pens; mine was a Parker 51 from the Sixties, which I picked up from a charity shop for a few punts (Irish pound - pre euro)....it wrote like a dream, & saw me thru' many examinations over the years. I still use it to this day...Grey-green body, with a somewhat dented (& worn) rolled gold cap....it's never failed me, & now, nearly seven decades later, it has pride of place in my collection; so, I (as I am sure many in the Fountain Pen Community) readily identify with your love for such scribes...there's a build quality & robust aspect that the modern contemporaries just do not possess...but it is my belief that handwriting with fountain pens will (inexorably) return - come full circle, if you will - especially in these unprecedented times. The pen being mightier than the sword (or mobile phone).... "Come on kids...let's all write in long hand !!" ;D Thank you for the "rambling" :)
Excellent !!! I LOVE your pen collection and I learned a lot from this video. I am still looking into travel note books from your last video. Keep up the great work.
It’s too late to do that with my daughter, but when grandkids start coming way way down the line I’m suggesting it to my kids. That they start their kids journaling before they can even write. That’s such a sweet thing your mom did with you. Both my daughter and I journal and I love it.
Thanks to your videos, I've recently purchased my first vintage fountain pen!! I don't know what kind it is, but I'm going to send it for a servicing and give it a second chance to be used. Thank you for inspiring me to get back into journaling for the sake of writing. I keep a memory keeper every day, but I got an A5 wide recently and I'm so excited to be writing again. I love these journaling videos so much! Please have a wonderful day :)
Rainyday congratulations ! That’s so wonderful. I hope you enjoy writing with your pen, and that the person who does the service can tell you what it is! I’d be so curious to know. Where did you pick it up? Happy writing :)
@@adventuredenali I got it on an eBay auction but the seller said they didn't know what it was, only that it is possibly German. It needs servicing and I'm a little worried it will be damaged from past use, but if not then I'll be lucky to have a pen with some history :)
With everyone home now, it’s the best time to clean out pens ☺️ will you make one of these lovely videos again soon? Maybe I’m the only one that finds this relaxing lol
Thanks for sharing! I don't know much of vintage fountain pens, l love and collect fountain pens but all are modern. Your channel is very interesting I think we have a similar age and I have been playing with the idea of buying and learning the violin. I nice to see that we can still do it as young adults 🤭.
Edwin P. G. Hello! Thanks so much for stopping by! I love the vintage pens, seeing the materials and construction and each one has such a distinct personality, no two are the same. And to write with something nearly 100 years old, is quite an extraordinary thing! You should definitely try out the violin!
I love your channel! 😍 I'd love to see your pens and go through ink swatches and basically I could listen/watch you chat about journalling and pens all day! 😊 Xx
Really enjoyed this video. Love fountain pens. Haven’t had the courage to try vintage yet, it can be overwhelming. Hope to see more videos like this in the future. Thanks for sharing...cheers!
I'm so very proud to say that I'm a member of the rare group who completely and utterly understands when you said you cried when your fountain pen broke. 😳
Great video. I have a fountain pen fascination as well. Just made my first big financial leap on a Sailor Pro Gear. Would like to know where you purchased your small leather pen case. Thanks.
I have developed a passion for vintage Esterbrooks & Wearevers. My all time favorite fountain pen is my Nemosine Fission. It’s fat & heavy & writes like a dream!
Curious what fountain pen case that is. I have a Lamy safari and Pilot Metropolitan and looking for more. I would love to have a case to store them in. Thanks
I have about 15 pens that are inked and I try to use them as often as I can. I do remember how easy life was when I only had two fountain pens. That period lasted for about two or three years.
You write small so how does the stub nib work for you? Do you use permanent ink much? I always get bleed through ghosting except when using Crescent paper that is guaranteed not to ghost or bleed.
Know you must be extremely busy. Just wondering if you could recommend a reasonable fountain pen that would be a good pen to start with? Love your channel. Interested in all you do but really got me with your journaling and fountain pen collection. Would like to start with a vintage one. 😊
Kenneth D'Aust A Pilot Metropolitan but if you really want to keep it cheap go for a Pilot Varsity or Jinhao X750. If you have a bit more to spend a TWSBI Eco.
I have a lever fed pen, but was never certain if your supposed to let the lever snap close like your doing? i guess this is ok then. hahaha. i'll have to try and ink it up again.
My brother used to watch these television shows like "storage wars", and I was just imagining a big tattoed guy finding your collection of childhood diaries in some storage unit and thinking "jackpot!"
I think your approach to sharing your passion for journaling and pens is a one of a kind experience. Thanks for sharing your knowledge and creativity.
Funny how the ramblings of one can be much more interesting than the dissertation of another. Ramble on I say!
Would really love another "cleaning out fountain pens and rambling" video
Great back story about the start of your collection. I'm very glad the craftsman was able to repair your pen 👍🖋️🎉
I enjoyed your video. Pen collecting is a wonderful hobby and fountain pen use is so satisfying. Thanks for sharing your experience.

So fascinating! I’m learning a lot
Classified awesome! :D
I'm a lefty so I don't think I'll ever get to enjoy the delights of a fountain pen, but I get pleasure watching you enjoy your pens.

Same, but i don’t mind messy hands hahaa

I love fountain pens... and random ramblings!
How many pens do you have? Do a top 5 video. Do you have favorite separate pens for just writing vs drawing? Fine vs medium point favorites?
Muji! They have such great products by the way lol I just stumbled across your channel and I'm wondering how I never did before. Amazing content!
Where can I go to get the best deal on a vintage fountain pen?
Really enjoyed this video. Love fountain pens. Haven’t had the courage to try vintage yet, it can be overwhelming. Hope to see more videos like this in the future. Thanks for sharing...cheers!
I'm so very proud to say that I'm a member of the rare group who completely and utterly understands when you said you cried when your fountain pen broke. 😳
K oh man, hello to you! These pens become such an extension of ourselves, it’s like breaking a finger, or your pet, or hurting a friend even!
Great video. I have a fountain pen fascination as well. Just made my first big financial leap on a Sailor Pro Gear. Would like to know where you purchased your small leather pen case. Thanks.
I have a muji pen but it is hosting a SWAN Mabie 14k nib which has made Muji my sharpen!!! Love that pen.
Awwww I love your collection😍 yesss please I wanna see it! Oooh I love pens so much!
Iduna Black thank you! I’ll definitely be making a video soon! :D

I'm slowly catching up on videos and I'm enjoying learning about your other collections. I'm weak for all things pen related~ :3
Chanel Colors thank you! Haha, yes I too am afflicted with such a weakness. XD
What’s your favorite ink ?what is your recommended first nib? Thanks.
I have about 15 pens that are inked and I try to use them as often as I can. I do remember how easy life was when I only had two fountain pens. That period lasted for about two or three years.
she’s absolutely gorgeous and lovely.
Why not fully disassembly them for cleaning?
You write small so how does the stub nib work for you? Do you use permanent ink much? I always get bleed through ghosting except when using Crescent paper that is guaranteed not to ghost or bleed.
Charles Jacques I enjoy a good stub quite a bit! But, the stubs I have are fine nibs still.
I rarely use permanent ink.

Did not know I had to clean them this way
New subscriber- watched about a half dozen videos so far and each one features a different animal! How many pets do you have? They’re all so adorable.
Lamy’s travel well. Although I am using cartridges to travel with by air.
love your outfit especially the skirt
😎👍🇦🇺
You are wasing the pens with your coffee LOL.
How on earth you clean this monster, the Pilot 823 ? 😅
Eating and cleaning fountain pens in the same time, fascinating. I sometimes do 2 things in the same time also.
19:15 I expected that you will fart :)
