    I'm always amazed at how good of a condition these games, consoles, and figures are in Japan. They really take care of their products over there. Thank you for these cool videos

    Wow that place seems to be more stacked than any Hardoff or Surugaya branch that I have ever visited 👍🏻👍🏻
    BTW, have you seen any game stores that sell other gaming related merch, particularly arcade posters? I’ve been looking for some Capcom arcade posters from the 90s, like SF3 3rd Strike and X-men COTA, and even places like Mandarake come up empty.
    Thanks and keep up your quality vids!

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  Год назад +1

      Classic 90s posters are definitely rare. I see them more frequently online. Sites like Mercari are a good place to check. Prices can get a lil wild, however. While not an arcade game, there is a listing for a B2 sized Panzer Dragoon poster for a whopping ¥79,700! Thankfully there are a number of listings with more reasonable prices.

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  Год назад +2

      Game stores on Google maps, RUclips videos, Retro ReWire tours, studying basic Japanese -- these are a few things you can look into to find more game stores in Japan. I believe the OFF group have over 800 stores in Japan alone! I'll be posting a lot more game store videos, so stay tuned! Cheers!

    Donkey Kong GB looks like the standard DK to me. It plays on the super gameboy for the super famicom and is more akin to the original DK. It's the best use of the super gameboy adapter.

    • @RetroReWire
      @RetroReWire  Год назад

      It’s definitely a title to consider! Is it as lengthy as the Super Famicom version? Cheers!

      @@RetroReWire DK On gameboy is just a port of arcade donkey Kong. It's got a super prefix because it works on the super gameboy adapter. In the USA and uk it's just called donkey Kong. The extras you get for having it run on super gameboy adapter are extra levels. Once you beat the first 4 levels from the arcade, it continues into many more levels. I got to lvl22 or something like that. It also has the extras if you play it on the GC gba player. If you want a port of the super famicom game you need the Gba game. I bought it because it was voted best super gameboy player game. If you look at your footage you'll notice the super gameboy logo on the box. I have DK, space invaders which are super gameboy wonders. The 3rd and final one is animaniacs which utulized better audio only. But I can't find it for a low price. Those were the only 3 games which warranted attention for the adapter. Everything else on it just added color or a little gimic.

    A private tour of Akihabara with you? Man, if you still doing this next year, as I'm thinking about going again in march, I would gladly sign up for that. You have better luck then me, because I didn't find anything interesting in Surugaya or Book/Hard Off stores, while I was there this year. What surprised me, I found some of the games I wanted at the Trader second shop in Akihabara. Kishin Douji Zenki (one of two) and Aliens vs Predator for SFC and City Hunter for PC Engine, all complete. Another big shock was the price. I was expecting it to be as high if not higher then the prices on ebay, instead they were cheaper, and one was A LOT cheaper then what they were asking online.

      It's not that hard to figure it out yourself. I lived in Japan for 20 years just get out at akihibara train station and walk around. The discovery is half the fun.

    • @vejit
      @vejit Год назад +3

      @@garyvan4084 I didn't say it's hard. I've been to Japan three times and to Akihabara five times overall and still there are shops I haven't visited because just looking for games in one can take an hour or two, when the selection of games is huge. Besides, if he wants to do a private tour for his viewers, then why not? It's always fun to meet fellow retro gamer and it wouldn't have made much sense to do so, if everyone would be like "no, I can manage on my own".
