Awesome dude! Hope you find some awesome retro games to your collection! My latest video is from Tokyo. And I have another one from Tokyo coming this weekend.
Thanks for stopping by my channel, sir 😃 I'm not sure how or why I haven't seen your content sooner. Your stuff is right up my alley! I have corrected the error of my ways 😅 Great sruff!
Haha welcome to the rabbit hole man! Its warm down here and everyone is friendly :D On a serious note. You would love these expensive games. I promise xD
Great video thank you so much ! I really enjoyed your patience and took the time to detail each shops offer for the SFC. For the next videos can I suggest the other 16-bit console - the mega drive?
Thank you for watching and enjoying the video :D Makes me happy to hear that. Well, you're in for a treat then. I actually just recorded a Mega Drive Hunting video! Stay tuned :D
Another great retro game hunting video 👍 After watching your other older videos on Super Famicom I've gained a great interest in buying a lot of snes and super famicom games over the past couple of months and have been playing them on my Retron system. Keep up the great content, Retro
Thank you for watching! 👌 Wow! That is so cool! Whats your favorite game so far? Thanks man! A lot more cool Game Hunting videos coming! I can assure you that!
Great video man! Do you know if it is possible or even common to find Super Nintendo PAL version games in Japan? I live in Australia and I'm traveling to Japan in two weeks, I would love to hunt for some games but maybe I wont bother if they are all NTSC-J version.
Thanks man! Appreciate it! Cool! Its possible to find PAL SNES games. But I would say, dont expect to find any. There are way more NTSC-J games. I would recommend buying Japan Exclusive SNES games. There are some amazing hidden gems that never released outside the country.
SFC game hunting from sun up to sun down your dedicated man and it shows. Keep up the good work. Ive gotta get down to Nagoya some time in the near future.
I was in this area the week after Golden Week and it was much less crowded - and of course it's all relative compared to places like Akihabara. I wish I had known about some of these stores before I was there because I definitely missed some of them. I spent a long time at Super Potato and the place next door. Both had great selections and decent prices. I didn't realize Surugaya had so much stuff. Thanks for the tour!
Yea, while filming this it was way more people than usual. But it looks good on camera I think. Oh I see.Yea its easier to miss Surugaya here since its more hidden compared to the other stores. Surugaya is definitely my favorite one. And they have more stores in other cities. Thanks for watching!
Hi Adam I’m cooking and watching your incredible Video 😊 I started it yesterday just haven’t had time to finish it. Super excited to see the games and Japan and I love that you add tiny video on the side so we can all see what they are ❤ first games you show 3:40 is so cute and wonderful I wish you would write the name under or top of the litte video so I could check the prices probably very expensive on ebay atm eh. Phyco dream repro is $26 Canadian dollars but the famicom is $64.88 Canadian dollars already on ebay 😢 so probably cheaper in Japan lol
Hey Sara! Thank you :D Oh its long so take your time! Awesome! I thought it was much better too even though it takes more time to edit it into the video. Oh! Its Do-Re-Mi Fantasy (Miron No Dokidoki), amazing game and I have it 😃 Yea I could write the name in the description now I guess. Oh really? Yea Psycho Dream got expensive fast…
I love how super potato has the Yoshi Story theme song playing in the background. I have come across a few games shown in this video and I was surprised because I hear that they tend to be hard to find or at times rare. I love many of the classic games shown in this video. Thanks for sharing. Cool video. ^_^
Love the hunts and always the parts on the street going from store to store.Been a fan of ur game hunts for a while now. I would love to see GB and GBC in a future video.
It’s great to see all these games at good prices! It would be even more helpful if you could share some details about the games you find. For example: • Do they have English language options, or can they still be enjoyed without them? • Are they exclusive to Japan, or were they also released in other regions? • What do these games typically sell for outside of Japan compared to the prices you’re finding? A bit of background or context on each game would make the information even more valuable!
love the SNES but... ps1 is and always will be my favorite console (started with gaming on the NES back in 1991 or 1992), so anyway how is the ps1 library over in japanese retro stores?!
Interesting that you say that. I've been deep into SNES for a few years now but I came to the point that I like PS1 more now actually. Maybe I moved on but Im more interested in discovering the PS1 games nowdays. I found some awesome JAP PS1 games. So stay tuned. Videos are coming :D
Really great game gems a lot of stuff I haven't seen before gonna have to get together a new budget 😅 hats off to the great developer teams that made some of games you showed interested in playing some of them
Glad I could introduce you to some new old awesome games :D Time to save up. These games are just going to get more expensive with time xD Oh yea. Incredible job from the developers at that time.
Hey Adam, im still watching your video 😊 i like to watch it away from my kids because they distract me, lol. Valis is a game i want to pick up. It's on the Nintendo Switch valis 1 collection and valis 2 collection 😊. If i went to Japan, i think prices would be higher, and i would try picking up Japanese exclusive games and, of course, the cheapest ones, lol. I'm still watching 😊 43:21 that looks like a great game ❤
Understand that. Thats good :D Oh there is a Valis collection. Nice! Yea Japanese exclusive games are mostly what Im looking for too. So many good ones :D And yea thats Nangoku Shonen Papuwa Kun. Beautiful platformer. Picked up the cartridge before. Now I have it complete :D
@RetroMoments Hi Adam so that game just loose is $20 usd = $27 canadian on ebay not sure what it run in japan price wise. It looks great and amazing yoj have complete. I love the Japanese platform games its what i would hunt for in japan :)
Thank you so so much for this video, it's amazing. That made me think that if one day I get a lot of money, I will spend month in Japan looking for the Super Famicom complete full set games, all in - as possible - near mint condition 🤞🙏
Thank you for watching! Theres more SNES Hunting on the channel if you would like to see it! 😃 Oh wow! What a great mission! I almost want to do that now 😃👌
Those super inflated prices; is this only in the big touristy cities or also off the beaten track in Akita or somewhere like that? And if they are everywhere, do you think these prices are there to stay, or is it a bit of an temporary over correction now Japan has opened up again?
Most stores around the city area have prices like this. If you get out of the city you can find better prices for sure. I will be visiting stores outside later for you to compare. Honestly, I think these prices are here to stay. Super Potato and those stores have noticed people are buying up the games anyway.
I've had this question in my head for ages. I'm planning to visit Japan for two weeks. If I carry two big empty bags and fill them up with games, do I have to pay customs or any other charges/taxes? I live in London. Thanks
Awesome! You will love it! Nope. You pay tax directly in most stores. But certain stores like Surugaya have it taxfree, when you buy stuff over 5000 yen! Just ask the cashier for taxfree. And if they say no, you say yes again. Most people dont do it so theyre not used to it.
The best console ever, the Super Famicom/Nintendo, the Super Nintendo boxes are incredible but the Super Famicom ones are at another level, the art, the shape, they even have the same dimensions as VHS boxes, just incredible, incredible boxes for the most wasted console ever, fun fact!, the Snes can display almost 2050 colors in modes 3 and 4 (BG1), and you even have the other 256 colors at your disposal, for other BG layers and sprites, and the possibility of displaying up to 32 sprites of ANY SIZE, in the same line with the 33s Range Over mode (see the manuals). The Mega Drive Samurai Spirits is no better sorry, it's loaded with a ton of issues, like the most things cut out of it to get the big sprites. The trade off for those sprites was not worth it.
Oh I see. Thanks for letting me know. Ive never tried it as Ive always played the Neo Geo version and it was a rumour about the Mega Drive version being better.
