I've been gaming since the early 80s. The arcade scene used to be huge here in San Diego. You used to find arcade machines in 711's, laundry stores, pizza joints, bars, etc... in addition to all the actual arcades they had everywhere. It was really sad to see it all go away once online gaming exploded in the early 00's. I wish arcades would make a come back here.
Awesome. Thanks for sharing. I could only imagine what it was like back in the days. And I totally agree. Online gaming will never be the same as the Arcade. Hopefully its just a fad and we will go back to what really meant something, one day in the future...
I also grew up in San Diego and was going to arcades there back in the '90s and early 2000s. We would also take trips up to the greater LA area and go to places like Arcade Infinity and Super Arcade. I really wish they would make at least some kind of a comeback as there are so many new games over the past 20 years that are still worth playing today.
The closest I'll ever likely get to visiting Japan is the Yakuza games. Seeing this makes me appreciate the work that went into recreating Japanese Game Arcades for them.
Took my young daughter here when we toured Japan before [The Dark Times]. She was trying a fighting game when she got a random network challenger. She managed to beat them and she was SO excited lol.
Dude, thanks so much for showing us this incredible arcade! I really enjoyed seeing this arcade. Also, those might just be the cleanest and nicest looking CRTs that I have ever seen.
Finally somebody mentions Melty Blood. I use to be a Street Fighter/ MK fan but i discovered Blazblue, Guilty Gear, Under Night, Skullgirls and then saw Melty Blood. I jumped on ebay and bought a New copy that cost about $140 on ps4 but the art and combat and strait up vibe of the game make it worth every penny. A must for any type of fighting game fan ( hardcore or casual)
I love to see that as well! Even if they dont earn enough money in the future to keep it running, Im sure they will have a special place for them somehow.
Wonderful tour of this amazing Arcade chain there in Nagoya, Japan mate! Looks very beautiful and bigger than the Taito Station over in Akihabara I think! Cheers for sharing this tour Adam & good job! 😀👍🎮
Yea I love spending time here. Especially at a regular wednesday evening 10pm with less people in general. During the day it can be really busy in here. The Akihabara one is really nice as well.
WOW! I haven't seen a finely detailed tour of the Taito Station like this before Adam. This was just fantastic. I wish others would do the same like you did brother man. 8^) Anthony..
Haha yea, someone commented exactly this before in another video. That song for many stores and public places is the sign of closing in Japan and everyone knows it. Its a good strategy.
Totally feel the same way. They should definitely think about ways to make these CRTs last as long as possible. I did hear a rumour of a company in Asia producing new CRTs. But still...
Haha right! I really wish Arcades where bigger in Europe as well. But then again, I just think it wouldn't be worth it financially. Hope they will live on for many more years to come in Japan at least :D
@@RetroMoments We had our own microcosm of neo Toyko with 7 levels at over 250,000 square foot of floor space w over hundreds of MYME & Naomi sports/racing, shooting & fighting cabinets, cool thrill attractions like The Aliens Marine & Killer Guerilla Escape tour, virtual rides, 3 cinemas, videogame/merch stores & Planet Hollywood next door & two entrances the 1st was the tube-station basement passage way with break dance offs & 2nd the grand entrance itself with the Bronze Sonic Statue on top. Really nice tour. I was at Akihabara @ Tokyo few months ago. I have to admit though I was really disappointed visiting the various arcade centres. Being an 80's kids, I was hoping to find retro arcade cabinets with games from 80's through 2000's eras. It's sad they are now replaced with mostly claw machines, capsule toys vending machines and dance/music themed games. 😢 I understand these are more profitable then retro arcade games, but I was still hoping to find a section dedicated to those. Next time you are in Tokyo, check out Mikado in Takadanobaba. All classic cabinets from the 80s and 90s. In Osaka there are several retro arcades near Shinsekai. There is only really one or two classic arcades in Nagoya, but there is a great one about an hour outside of town in the city of Nishio called Amano Game Museum.

Just an FYI, I think the newest Melty Blood game in the series is Type Lumina that came out in 2019 in Japanese arcades and 2021 I believe in the US/Europe for home systems and PC. Dommage aucuns Pinball, babyfoot, billard, etc...
Taito Station 2024 was great unfortunately there is one missing with the Arcade of Skullgirls 2nd Encore but why!
How come you didn't play any on video? Also I really want ro play Gundam Extreme VS 2 Overboost.
Only because it was late and they were almost closing.
And I was actually playing a bit before recording.
Next Arcade will have footage of me playing some games for sure!
How it work? How long you can play? 2 minutes?
100 yen price. You play until you die in the game or its over. Sometimes you have more "continues" depending on the game.
Of course
The best word!
What’s the name of the gundam game on the Dreamcast? I’d like to play it!
I think its: Mobile Suit Gundam: E.F.F. vs. Zeon
Never knew Rolling Gunner was also in arcades. I thought it was Switch only.
Sjukt stor arkad. Önskar vi hade liknande här hemma.
Eller hur! Jag kan bara hålla med. Alltid kul att bara springa förbi och döda lite tid i!
Tatio? Should have Superman the arcade
Yea they should! That game is actually fun!
Whats the intro music?
Extan made the song! Its called ”Just the beginning” if I remember correctly!
@@RetroMoments Thanks , I just subscribed to your channel.
Taito🥰
Heaven! :D
How do they keep that place open without customers?? It's a yakuza arcade to launder money??
Haha I litterally went at the time with less people. Its super busy during the day, any day of the week.
All other shops are closed 😢
It was late in the evening!
