That Front Mission millenium collection is such a steal!
It's a sweet deal!
So RUclips did the ye old random video recommendation and oh boy, this channel is a treat, first off 4k and the FPS is buttery smooth (not that reduced FPS that some channels are doing these days) but also the nostalgic frame ratio *insert Kronk chefs kiss gif*.
The content is great, doesn’t speed past everything and doesn’t linger, keep up the great work, meanwhile I have quite the backlog to watch for this channel.

I traveled to Japan this past January with my friends from the US. Now that I have been to many Hard Off's I can say that the in store music has been seared into my mind till the day I die. I got a 3DO out of it and some cool stuff so win win LOL
That music is iconic, haha. What 3DO model did you score?
@@RetroReWire FZ-1, I later found and FZ-10 and a bunch of good games to go with them. Even some Neo Geo CD games when I got it there as well.

You can't go wrong with the Kanto (Tokyo) or Kansai (Osaka) regions. They both offer countryside, suburb and city shopping options.

So does the PC Engine Gt play regular Pc Engine (TurboGrafx) games or is it more like the game gear? The artwork on that DQVI box is something else!
It plays all standard PC Engine Hu-card games. If you have a Turbo Everdrive Pro it will boot Super CD-ROM2 games! Cheers!

I agree, this channel is a gem, and deserves some love and views. In regard to prices it depends what you’re looking for and your attitude. Try and speak as much Japanese as possible, be kind and spread a good vibe. As an example, I went to a hard off not far from central Tokyo by bike but far enough away that it’s hard to get there by subway. 3DS’s are a ridiculous price in my country, but I picked up an original 3DS with a charging dock, plug-in and a case for $61 CAD. I’m not from Canada but I use this currency so you can see hoe cheap this is ;) Anyway the owner gave me the case for free! It’s all perspective, and what you’re looking for.

the prices are so high these days it's not even worth it anymore to go to hard off. I mean this is even in a remote location.
What types of games and hardware do you collect?
@@RetroReWire mostly handhelds... as they don't take up as much space. I also really like the pc engine gt. Mercari has the best pricing in my experience, but you got to be quick when something pops up.
I have the feeling that even between when I decide to go last year and now prices have gone up! 2 more weeks and I’m there.

I've seen loads of stuff at hard offs cheaper than mercari, especially boxed consoles - I got a gameboy micro boxed for $130, and DS's are crazy cheap at hard offs

Well if you're only looking for specific games/systems and don't care about hunting at physical locations, why even go to Japan in the first place? Just pay whatever is listed on an auction site and you'll save a bunch of time simply by not taking a plane journey. People like that will just throw their wallets at the problem, so they'll watch videos like yours and endlessly whine about never finding what they're looking for.
