    Hi Cody. Maybe try wider clean grip. Recently I changed my grip during power clean and my turnover immediately improve a lot.

    Love the workout but i just had 1 question, why do you use leg curls, i love em too but was often told off from using em cuz they are “not sprint specific enough”, thanks in advance boss

      Whats up man, good question. I use them periodically just to get some knee-dominant strength work in. Most of the stuff done in the gym is very general in nature, so if I'm in the off-season I don't really worry too much about how "specific" it is if its an accessory movement thats solely targeted on tissue strength adaptations. Currently for hamstrings I am doing slideboard curls laying on my back, as well as some stuff in the hip thrust machine with my leg in a longer position (like push up with two then resist going down with one leg).
      Where I see specificity being more important in the gym is either with certain positions I will load with isometrics, or with the rate of force development aspect of main lifts. The closer I am to competing, the more I try to focus on generate force very quickly and pick lifts accordingly. Farther from the season, I keep things more general and this don't mind using something like a hamstring curl here and there. Its never a major part of the program though.

      @@ATHLETE.X That a very good answer, thanks for really going in depth there, that would would be a really good video by the way, some type of catalogue of hamstring lifts, where you talk about how good they are for speed (in depth maybe which phase of speed they are good for) and when/how to program they
      Let me know what you think of the video concept, thanks

    Do u think short runner can run faster like tall runner ima ( 5'3) i can make it to under 10 ? Once i had 11.65 in 100m

      You can definitely make it into the 10 second range, but running under 10 (9.9 and below) is extremely hard for anybody regardless of size. I think the key with shorter athletes is to emphasize stride frequency without sacrificing force production while on the ground. Also, leg length is what matters, so if your legs are longer than other people your height it is an advantage. Either way, don’t limit yourself. Work as hard and as smart as you can and you’ll improve

      Sub 10 is almost impossible, you would need 1 in 100000 genetics to do that

    Id like to take up hang cleans to improve my power but i've found a wall around 80 kg, it feels like my hips can really thrust the weight but my upper body is kind of overwhelmed by the weight, i wonder if its just my traps or just my hands strenght
    Ive watched Noah lyles move 105 kg despite being lighter than myself which is quite amazing

    How many movements do you do in a session? I’ve bought a trainer’s program and there’s only 1 squat and 1 hinge movement for weights after sprinting, and he said he won’t even add hip flexors or calf raise work on top of his program cause I already get it from sprinting. I was like “Damn, just that simple?”

    What’s the area of the body that you think is often overlooked when it comes to exercise for sprinters?

      I’d say the soleus, obliques, and psoas are often neglected despite their importance.

      @@ATHLETE.X I am 18 and I have started train for sprinting for a month and one week, I dropped my PB from 14.3 to 13.3, do you think it is possible for me to go sub 13 after a month? I will do hill sprint once per week, strength training once per week, maximal sprint once per week and acceleration workout once per week, what can be improved for the training?

    But you never run faster than 10.90s? Is speed just genetic?

    • @Jaj_Ajiq
      @Jaj_Ajiq Месяц назад

      Mostly... But 10.9 is very fast. There was an Asian athlete called su bingtian who was short and stocky and clearly not the best genetics but through smart training he managed to run the fastest 60 meters ever and one of the fastest 100 meters.
