This was produced (by Shamus Culhane) especially for "THE COLGATE COMEDY HOUR", where Eddie Cantor appeared regularly from 1950 through '54. Cantor was famous for having five daughters...but NO SONS. When this 1950 spot was presented "live" on the Colgate show, the orchestra would briefly strike up the Halo jingle before and after the ad...

i'm 24 too and i also love the past but just in media, music and pictures. i don't think i'd like to live there permanently lol the way we experience them nowadays is different from actually being born and living there. those were harsh times
I was born in 1954 and I would love to be able to go back and do it all over again, the good and the bad, was a wonderful time to be a kid and a teen later on.
Ok so I’m probably not the first person to comment this but does anybody else think it’s weird how the commercial just paused at the one frame at the end or is it just me 😂
I think it just allows a little time to cut back to the program, avoiding a black screen.. This is 1950 so very early television. Only 9% of Americans even had television. By 1959 that would be 90%.
I wish there were more cute commercials like this now!! So cute!!
