I have lithiums on my small 16' tiller boat, by switching from flooded batteries I picked up speed and gobs of run time. I fish a lot of 9.9 HP restricted and electric only lakes, even though I have a 25 hp, I'm still allowed to fish them using my trolling motor and lithiums keep me on the water all day, even when moving around all day at 90-100%...I still have a group 24 lead for starting, and electrical things though.
I just have a little pond hopping boat and I’m getting a lithium for my trolling motor and Garmin because I take my battery out after every trip and that regular old battery is heavy to carry up steps so I’m gonna buy a lithium!
Brad, so I too have the 35v pro guide for my 21 ft champion and it does amazing, I was curious if you know, I heard once that if you hook a lithium to your starting motor you void the warranty? That's why new boat makers sell you a boat with an agm
There are specific parameters by the manufacturers on what the battery has to meet or it "COULD" void the warranty. Pro-Guide does meet all Mercury specs so it is compliant 💪
How's your Phoenix ride with all the weight reduction from the batteries? I've heard Phoenix's drive better with a bunch of weight in the rear...my 920 elite is already tricky to drive at speed with lead acids in the back, lol
Love my lithium batteries with my Ultrex. I run 3 12v 100 amp batteries for the TM. I’m on my 3rd season with them and fish about 80 days a year from my boat.
So I only fish about 3 times a month maybe for 6-8 hrs at a time. Would the lithium work or be an over kill my trolling motor is 36v. I have garmin at bow and one at stern.. and helix 7. My livescope is run off separate battery. I have five battery in my boat. 1 for cranking. 3 for trolling motor and electronics and one for livescope.
I fish about the same as you. Maybe 4 or 5 times a month for 8 to 10 hrs. I switched to pro guide lithiums because of hallman and soukup's info this spring. I run 2 75 ah wired for 24 volts lithium for my tm and the 100 ah dual purpose lithium for my starter/all accessory equipment/3 10 in garmins (1 with livescope). Runs all day, no concerns. I run an auto bilge on one of the 75 ah 12 volts and this also gives me a 12 v option if I need it for a jump or another reason. They also charge incredibly fast compared to lead acid.
@@BradleyHallmanFishing I'll put in a plug the the Bass Tank and PGL. I buy all my electronics from them because of mainly you and BTL. I got one of the first M100 starting/deep cycle lithiums. It was faulty. They sent me a new one without hassle and got me back on the water. They stand behind their stuff with great customer service.
The power pole charge is amazing for maintaining your batteries . I think I could fish 2 days with my acid batteries without charging. Unless the wind is really bad.
hey Bradley, cool in-depth Lithium vid. BTW - it was awesome seeing you featured in sept issue of Bassmaster Mag !!! You can ben mentioned my hometown lake and huge Spots. lol. Some schooling going on now, but only gonna get better in upcoming months. 👍👍
Interesting comprehensive video. I understand that there are some temperature limitations to lithium’s? Being from PA I sometimes fish in extremely cold conditions.
@@BradleyHallmanFishingsome battery’s have cold weather charging stops. Depends on the brand and model. A lot of cheaper ones cut off charging at 32 degrees
Your battery system and chargers ! Are worth more than my 2007 nitro!

You just need to add a shunt it will tell you how much power you have left.
Victron makes a water proof one.
I hear it affects the boat speed due to the weight actually helping , idk if that’s true or not
Put more beer in the boat.😊

It’s not a handling issue but it does slow them down. 3 mph or so difference from my past boats. I know it’s the weight difference
So we all need an IT person on the lake to h angle emergencies? I think I will stay old school for a while.

Can you run your trolling motor on 10 with the lithium’s? I have buddies who have to run at 7-8 max because of voltage issues …
I run my Ultrex on 10 with Tracker lithiums. I’m on my 3rd season with no issues.
Good to know. I wonder what would be the problem...the batteries I'm talking about are ionics. Not sure if that means anything @@shad-fishy-kitch
Yes Absolutely, maybe they are throwing a breaker and it needs replaced is all I can think is their problem
@@BradleyHallmanFishing Thanks!
Cool video...AGMs and Acids are 2 different type of batteries
Today you share a very good and easy to watch video.. 19:25
I only need 2 batteries your saying ?
My power pole charge is linked to my lowrance . You can access emergency power through it as well.
When I switched I tested 24v - 2 100amp lithium for 5 days! It's redic

You may be a candidate for just 1 36 volt! That would be great for you if that’s enough power and would last years

Lithium batterys let's talk , I wanted to get one for my atv, boat etc. But alternators on my atv ,boat motors lithium friendly.
I would think so
Great info thanks
Thanks fantastic information really appreciate it 😊
Great information without being a commercial. Hearing what they did do vice what they can do... Thanks.

I’m not aware of this? I’ll look into it

What are the amp hours for the 36 volt and 12 volts lithiums you run.
36 volts are 50 amph so two that I tie together give me 100. Don’t know off the top of my head the 12v
Super in depth information. I'm hoping to convert to lithium. They're expensive, but I think it's worth the investment if someone can afford them.
Thanks for the rundown on this great information I really appreciate it
It was good to meet you on the Sabine
Please do let us know how many hours you get out of it.
Greetings from the BIG SKY. I've been curious about Lithium batteries.
Good info man, thinking about getting a 36v trolling battery
