Ann is 70 now and still as powerful and enchanting like 40+ years ago ♥ Oh and Nancy wasn't just "the backup singer' but the guitar player of Heart, and a gifted one :)
I have been fortunate enough to see Heart in concert. Ann Wilson's voice is more powerful live than on recordings. She left 15 000 people in awe after hitting all those notes for 2 hours.
it's so much fun to listen to her, because aside from her very beautiful and recognizable voice she also packs so much into her singing, both emotion and technique.
From one Christopher to another, I do believe I agree with you. Absolutely no one can top Ann's volcanic power. For my money, the holy trinity of female rockers remains Ann Wilson, Tina Turner and Pat Benatar. Ann's got the unbeatable lung power, Pat's got the greatest range (from a low rasp to operatic heights) and Tina's got that singular, swaggering tone. Each are so incredibly dynamic as singers.
@@JaceFincham I love Floor, and her technical singing ability is better than Ann's. But Ann has a vocal texture that is unmatched for singing rock. Floor is pretty high on my list though.

20 years after realizing the original Ann not only 'still has it" but actually SOUNDS BETTER! Always loved this version of "Alone" simply because of how "simplistic" the presentation is, as well as how much it completely highlights both sisters equally as far as talent is concerned. Nancy on the guitar and Ann on the vocals is still one of the best compositions possible.
