After playing the demo, I would indeed prefer the Kasane playthrough I reckon, which surprised me as I love sword-based combat. Yuito unfortunately comes across as a naive tool at the start, and whilst Kasane starts out with the emotional range of a spoon, she's a complete badass.
Yea you see that more in the full game for sure! Here fast ranged attacks are almost like playing a rhythm game haha

You travel to different areas from a menu. Some of the areas have connecting areas, but it doesn’t get much bigger than that.

@@NoisyPixelNews for sure! I played one route on PS4 and I can agree on the floatiness when the characters move. The game reminded me of Astral Chain in terms of gameplay and aesthetic and that's one of my fav action rpgs. I have high hopes for this one.
Recently started this. It's better than I thought it would be. Wish I didn't wait so long to play it. I love this game

Not a game thats high on my priority list. Probably cop it when its lik 20$. I will add the soundtrack to my library though
Yeah, this is a steep bargain bin game.
This feels like a combination of Devil May cry, and something SOMEWHAT like a Tales series game. I picked up DMC5 recently on sale, and with Tales of Arise not TOO far away, I think both those games do what they do better than this game. Played the demo, definitely enjoyed it, but I personally feel like it would get stale somewhat quickly. Might get it down the road on a deep sale. Good review as always though!
Seems to me like a gameplay focused ARPG/anime romp.
Really wished this had a better story to tie it all. Cliched story (which gives motivation to go to combat) is better than a convoluted one, esp in ARPG.
Yea it like focuses so heavily on connections too, it’s one of the themes, but the groups connections are so flimsy.
I didn't expect the score will be lower. Though I already pre order the game since I'm a fan of BanNam games hahaha. Thanks for the review :D
Just beat the final boss, is this common for how dragged the JRPGs are ? Someone please answer. There is no way we can turn of the tips! My god how forced the tips and the game expects me to replay with other character and it shows the same tips.
Hahah the tips menu not being able to be turned off is still an issue!?!
@@NoisyPixelNews this was my first and last JRPG. I loved the Tales of Arise. But I am scared to pick that up. That also has tips. And by the looks of it it seems this long.
Honestly looks pretty interesting, and fortunately for me I have to ability(and curse) to not care about the story, so what you've said about the gameplay intrigues me
For me the story is good and I like how they execute it. Well, it depends if your going to like it since we have different opinions and taste for the game.

It’s mostly just perform X in a fight. It typically happens without going out of your way too much since you fight the same enemies throughout the entire game

Too many flashing images and effects, there should be a warning for people who have epilepsy. I don't have it myself but those flashing images make my eyes go crazy.

Honestly Kasane is way better even tho i don’t like her fighting style and i really wanted to go sword she’s just a more relatable character and it’s nice to see her grow

@@NoisyPixelNews Apparently, Scarlet Nexus was created by former members of the Tales of series. And those games can clock between 50 and over 100 hours, depending whether you are going for a completionist run or not. I'm guessing this is where this reaction came from.

@@Kage-jk4pj Yeah, JRPGs in general tend to be very long.
Personally, I don't mind it either way, as long as the time spent in the game feels meaningful, but... Unfortunately, most JRPGs feel pretty padded.
Compared to this, it's refreshing when a game is just as long as it needs to be, without filling it with hours of repetitive "random encounters" and stuff like that. It feels more respectful towards the player's time, I think.
I usually like your reviews but I instantly disliked this one. "Let's be honest, we'll all play Kisane first." Uh. I'm straight, and I like JRPGs, but I ain't playing a female protagonist. Get your demographics straight, and even if most of "us" would play Kisane, please don't make statements like that. They make your fans like me feel excluded. (I've watched and liked many of your videos before).
