wants to try different sizes. you can get a good idea of if the links you want to use are the right size by dividing the thickness of the wire by the thickness of the rod the wire was wrapped on. you want it to be around 2.5
. the first chain in this video is a 5mm rod and 2mm wire which is 5/2=2.5
. the second chain is 7.5mm rod and 3mm wire which is 7.5/3=2.5
.the chain from the first video is a1.2mm wire on a 3.2mm rod which is 3.2/1.2=2.6
This is the best video about rope weaving in whole internet! Thank you so much, sir!

You learn to appreciate jewelry more when you realize the time that goes into making one piece! Rope style chains and bracelets are my favorite!

Now thinking that we have rope machine, I really admire silversmith of the past. Great Vid!
Bangkok Creative Studio Thank you if you don’t have the machine and have a lot of time and it nice to know how to make it
whats this rope machine
I use a clean thick welders glove on my hands when drawing long wire that is too long for the shop. Wrap it around until you have a "grip". It doesn't hurt too much. No marks whatsoever and no pausing marks. Oil of Wintergreen is great in drawplates - good for burnishing also. Thanks for sharing!
Doug Bader thank you
How beautiful! Great teacher too!
What a fabulous video. I especially liked seeing how you made your wire in the beginning. Looking forward to seeing more.
