Steady rest for metal lathe

The particular video I made a steady rest for my lathe. Was necessary to be made as the tool that I created this time, will provide me further help in the following structures.

Newbee here,, like the build, great concept. Using roller lifters from a 392 Hemi rebuild as rollers. Frame is a toss up,,,make from scratch or use an old 11in disk rotor with hub removed. Being cast iron, would have to brass to an old SB Tail Stock base, but it's cast iron any way. Base is may be over kill in length since my lathe is only 32" between centers. Up in the air at present, but will share on my channel when I start the build. Thx for sharing, Bear

I'm in the process of finishing a Hemingway four point steady kit for my Myford ML 7. I'm at the stage of deciding how to do the support arms. I want to put small bearings in but unsure of how to control them. You've given me some ideas so thank you.
One comment I will make and that's your non use of protective eyewear when plasma cutting. Yes most of the garbage is blowing away from you but it only takes one hot piece to blind you. Please invest in a pair of safety glasses for cutting. You seem to use shields for every thing else so you're not un aware. Keep safe from Canada's banana belt.👍🇨🇦🤞
