    Some excellent points here Justin! For me sleep is at the top of the list for recovery, post session nutrition is also crucial but typically more important on days when training 2 or more times! Cheers 👌🏼

    I think this is great dude, plus there's a ton of science to back up some of what you said around the cold plunges and green powders. I think too many people reach for things that *might benefit them as an easy supplement for better training/recovery without actually having proper knowledge. I definitely love the heat/cold therapy (especially as an aging triathlete) but i tried the Ketones this past year and I didn't notice a thing. Everyone is different though.

      100%. I think triathletes are so hungry for that extra 1% but often times stacking up the basics will get you much more than that!!

    Yes, your best recent vid. Very informative content. Great pts of advocacy which came across very much like coach-to-athlete in a unique way.
    Love Sam Long, Arie K., Lionel, TTL., etc but I watch their vids almost like I'm watching... SportsCenter (for the news of the day?) as opposed to leaving the vid feeling improved, if that makes sense?
    But this felt more like an unfiltered workshop. Different. Great. Reacquiring my "fandom" for Big Metz. Good luck this wkend!

      thanks very much for this detailed comment- means a lot!! In a world where everyone seems to post the same thing on YT, I'm trying to do something slightly different even with the vlog style videos.

    Great point on the ice baths! I remember taking many ice baths in college during track season, and always felt like they weren’t doing a whole lot. Never took an ice bath while training for Ironmans and 70.3s, other than the occasional cold shower to cool off like you mentioned

    how do you track calories when you're burning well over 3k calories/day?

    • @bigjmetz11
      @bigjmetz11  10 месяцев назад +1

      I very rarely track overall calories. I have a general understanding of how much food i need to consume for bigger days and lighter days. i usually just try to focus on getting in the adequate carbs and protein daily and let the calories fall as they do
