    It might work better if you extend the belt loop slightly so that the snap is in front of the belt rather than ontop of it, letting you handle it more easily for removal and attachment.

    I like the simple pattern. For future reference, what you built is typically referred to as a "sword frog". A "baldric" is an over-the-shoulder style belt, that often ends in a sword frog to hold the weapon but a baldric doesn't have to carry a sword.
