- The Triumph Rocket 3 Storm is expensive as far as motorcycles go, but in a way, it kind of isn't. We rode this newly updated version of the Rocket in the South of France to see what it's like, and explain that it's one of the best value motorcycles money can buy. Sort of.

I have the Black limited edition, since almost 3 years ago and 28000km. The best bike ever. I've ridden lots of bikes, even now I own 3 more (2 Indians and 1 MV Agusta), and the Rocket is the best of the bunch. Last summer I did 5500 km in 7 days on the Italian coast. No back hurt, no butt hurt, no arms hurt - I have no words to praise it enough...
nice i have black gt for 26000km . i go lean lot .it perform great but feet a little tired gt handle bar and R feet position is best IMO
Is it the GT or the R?
@@kingdl5657 Is the R, but now it has all the GT accessories less the forward controls.
At 1 point in my life , i will get this bike ! Its such a beautiful bike and well glued.
We the same bro🫂🫂
The quick shifter is a no brainer, great value and great fun for the money. Also compared to my Harley Ultra the Rocket does not put out anywhere near the engine heat. I have over 80,000 miles on my 2020 GT now and when it wears out I will be getting another Rocket. Great review, thanks.
wow that is lot of miles!
It's a motor with 2 wheels, a seat, and a gas tank. Mostly motor.
Harley davidson prices but it actually moves
😂😂
Why does everyone has to bring up Harley Davidson when they see a motorcycle?????
@@Keyser_Soze739 Because, at least in the US the vast majority of bikes sold are HD. Simple.
@@jimanders9971 I’m sorry. I owe you an apology. Maybe for you it is simple but i really don’t understand. With a video about a tiger who starts talking about his hamster?
@@Keyser_Soze739 Drunk posting?
First time I test rode one, I described the experience as like riding a Racing Elephant. I eventually bought a Suzuki B-King, which I loved, but often wonder...
I still love my TFC version of the bike. Owned it since launch 4 years ago, first time I haven’t sold a bike after 2 years and no intention of replacing it.
Nice review & a great bike. What an entertaining beast. A uniquely bonkers proposition & thank goodness Triumph made it! I can totally see the appeal but my twig legs would snap in half just looking at it lol.
Had my TFC for over 4 years now. Magnificent machine!! Best bike ever built! Oh and that quickshifter is outstanding!
So glad Triumph made this bike , i traded a 2020 Gsxr1000r for a Rocket 3r no regrets .The styling is superb and its power puts a smile on my face every time i ride it .The quickshifter is ok no where near as smooth as my prevoius bike , the tft could have been a bit bigger but overall this bike should be test ridden and im sure it would surprise a lot of folks .
What's tft?
@@porkchopspapi5757 .TFT stands for Thin Film Transistor. Its what the instrument dispaly uses.
Thank God for closed captioning!😮
I was amazed by how docile the bike was in town. But when you needed the power on the open road, it certainly was a thoroubred! I'll have to test ride one!
90 days now with the Rocket 3 GT. Mine is a 2021. This is the one.
That's a bad ass muscle bike. I'm more of a street/speed triple man right now, but I'd love to have one of these.
Good review.
It's like putting a Rolls Royce Merlin engine in a car.......only with a bike, but it works !
Visordown, Is it possible to raise the pegs up further on the Rocket 3R Storm?
Looks great and if you wait for a previous years model or on occasion 2 year old but unsold for almost $8,000 off.
Same for the speed triple RR 2023 model near me is over $5k off.
So a long way of saying, no it’s not worth it.
Oh my god i want to ride this but dont have the change. Still got my Speed Triple 900 model 94 though. I bet i can out-accelerate this with her
You forgot to mention how much psi you get in the tires and how many meters of cables and hoses you get with your price breakdown.
Bought a 2015 roadster for 19k Canadian. Hard to beat that even with the improved performance etc
Idk I need to see it has a responsive non delayed throttle before even consider it. Most new bikes feel so disconnected compared to what I’m used to I almost can’t get along with them. Every new bike I’ve demoed I couldn’t get off fast enough
Are you stuck with only avon tire as a choice? Does exist any other brand on that gigantic size? That is one of my worry
Sure, I saw they've moved away from Avon now on this update. There is nothing wrong with Avon tyres though imo. They just stopped making tyres for the Rocket 3.
i use avon but new use the mezer cruiser tech .i think if you lean lot .the avon grip better
@@j.bin_genex1927 that's interesting to hear! The people that knock avon tyres have probably never tried them.
It's the bike I most wanted ride, but knew I'd never buy.
I would love the performance But tires and gas would be expensive.
Am surprised it's legal to sell bikes where the passenger can fall of the back on to the back wheel.
Unlike Harley, where you have to put thousands of dollars into it to get any power out of it, the Rocket is raring to go once bought and payed for it.
I think one of these with a sidecar would be fantastic.
315 kgs damnnn
"Nothing like this out there?" - rather underexposed conclusion. Have you not ridden or heard of the Diavel?
My 2022 Rocket 3R 221 (red) is perfect for me. Don’t like all the black. ECU flash from BHP-UK and it’s now 200bhp. 60% throttle restriction gone and so has the torque limiters, and top speed restrictions.
BHP-UK have made this a better bike in every way and better than this “Storm” version
holy shit .too much power! so it can hit 280kmh ?
Muscle car of motorcycle, it's like Doge Charger Hellcat in motorcycle world 😂😂😂. Just crazy, proper Rocket 🚀🚀🚀
2500 ccs 😎
The Rocket is nice, but at over 25 grand, Triumph is losing their minds. Surely, these will be severely discounted to sell. Especially in this economy.
Try to design one, even half, then manufacture it and market it. Then we’ll see who looses his mind. I just did. I bought one. The most reasonable thing to do.
"girl maths" except for boys😂
320 kilos is craaaazy
One thing about that 640 lbs, it would certainly be a smooth highway machine.
Getting a standard bike remapped is better than the storm and it’s absolutely unbelievable
As much as I admire Triumph's engineering and what they've achieved with the Rocket 3, the butcher's apron in the logo mean it's a no from me, and that applies to their entire range.
This sounds a lot like something a vegan would say
@@jockojockoson9995 not too bright, are you?
@@rsdotscot I’m bright enough to call you out on your grandstanding
@@jockojockoson9995 I’ve seen brighter broken bulbs.
Yes, please continue to buy other brands 😂😂😂
worth? no.
euro5+ is limitation, revving on neutral is not possible. maybe other limitations.
difference between 165 and 180hp /221Nm and 224 Nm is not markable.
allblacks are good for new zealand rugby team but not for motorcycle.
i stay by my gt.
More is less.
It needs an automatic
The ugliest engine ever made
Waste of space! Who actually rides these things? What's it supposed to be? It's a fast'ish, ugly hippopotamus that belongs with those who believe that stupid engine size in a bike is cool. At that price it belongs with rich people who believe that stupid engine size in a bike is cool. 'Not a good combination but possibly a good recipe for sales. 'Bit like super cars really!
