I'm excited to share a sneak peek at one of my favorite favorite speaking techniques. When I teach the science of speaking, this definitely is the one that's kicked open the most doors. It really has changed my life. This technique has been one of the single most impactful techniques that I've learned. I call it The Valley Technique.

Thank you Lisa my sister in prosperity and possibility. I am taking the Speak and Inspire Quest and I am motivated to embark on a new project. What resonates so much with me is that I too for 10 years spent my time serving people with love but my business gave me only about $15K per year or less and I was relying on another business that I didn't need to work on. During the pandemic I lost a lot of income and in one month 4 people starting with my mom who I could not say goodbye to and I was depressed and hopeless. I lost my sense of purpose and just languished. I'm on day 25 of the quest and I have regained a lot of my purpose and I will go back to serving people (through a job) and on the side do transformational speaking engagements. I am mostly an educational speaker because that's what I am asked to do and that's what my videos on the quest reflect. And I want to thank you from the bottom of my heart for letting me see the light again and finding my purpose again. So NAMASTE, GRACIAS, DANKESCHÖN, THANK YOU, SPASIVA :)
As someone who enjoys casual conversation, this valley technique is a perfect exercise in vulnerability. Looking forward to practicing.

Hi Lisa, I just wanted to thank you for inspiring me on so sooooo many levels. 🙏
I give talks at safe house for women who have survived abused in different forms, but there is one thing I'm struggling with that I would like to ask your advice for. I always struggle sharing the dip because I can share my own experiences with abuse and emotions but I can't really give details because I'm afraid people will figure out who it is. I'm more concerned about hurting those who I care about because this person is so important to them. What would you suggest? Thank you in advance.

It's so difficult to me to use this technique, because I've achieved too many things in different areas, so I come off as a dabbler instead of multi specialist. I'm stuck guessing "which me" they want to meet. My valley is the same but the big me is always different. I have trouble with that part.
That sounds complicated. There is likely a process to sort it without going every little needless detail. I don't know how that would work out - I too have a ridiculously large body of work, ideas and expereince. I think if we watch this several times repeatedly we'll get the gift it offers...
Do you have an external locus of control? If not, then it's not about which you they want to meet, but about which story you want to tell. You've achieved many things but they're not all simultaneously, universally relevant. Tailor your message/s to fit your audience/s.

@@cosmic130 that's the hard part, you can be at a door and not know you're there. For instance, I worked with a guy for 2 years, connected on music and we went to the same university. Recently we both wrote books but didn't speak on it. I found his and he was looking for voice actors for the audiobook version. He had no idea I did commercials or voiceover for LeBron James because I didn't know it was relevant until that day.
