The fox is the best mustang. You do head's cam 3.73 and a good tire you got a fast car. And they look damn good at every angle. Notch or hatch. Beautiful car
I have one of each body style, a notch, a hatch and convertible, love them all, but I honestly think the notches are way overrated. There really is not that much difference in body strength that cannot be fixed with a pair of subframe connectors (which you should add even to the notchback). I love my notch because of its simple elegant looks, but I think the GT fastback is the best looking one and far more practical.
Why oh why did I sell my 90 notchback that I owned for 13 years? Loved that car it drove nice, fit me well, tons of speed parts for it and inexpensive to keep running. As much as I want to agree with you all I think that the 1965 sport back was the best with these coming in second
The LX Hatch Foxbody is the best/sexiest looking Foxbody's.. Sure a notchback is lighter but the Hatch just looks so much better to me.. But realistically it's about personal taste/choice and well even with a Foxbody there's no really no wrong answer I see so just ignore what I said lol.. Hope that anyone and everyone who owns a Foxbody enjoys the absolute hell out of such a great car and will keep it for many years to come 🤞.. I agree with everything you said and the notchback is not that much lighter than the lx hatchback it's maybe 100lbs lighter maybe a little less people make it seem like the gt and the lx hatchback are 500lbs heavier lol
i love the style of the notch because it resembles the original trunk cars,im not really a fan of fastbacks.to me 68 mustang coupe is the best. then after that is any year fox notchback.
While I do love notchbacks my favorite foxbody is the lx hatchback it's the best of both worlds the clean look of a notchback and the hatchback of a gt

And yes, even the hated Cobra emblems on the fenders.....BUT mine are mounted just beneath the trim instead of where the 5.0 badges were stuck. A nod to the original muscle cars if you will.
I used to like those mustang notchback back in high school and my favorite color of the mustang is all black those are badass I heard they can drift and burnout and donuts
I’ve owned 3 foxes, notch and hatch. I like both, currently have restored mint 93 5.0 LX hatch in black. Still looks deadly to me. I have a tour video if you care.

Most guys don’t even watch hatchback videos. Keep telling yourself you own a fastback but last time I checked the desirable fastback Mustangs of the past never had hatchbacks lol. When’s the last time you seen a 68 mustang hatchback with ground effects kit? The notchback is a true car with no gimmicks, no goofy spoilers, no goofy ground effects kit. The notchbacks don’t look like they are stuck in the 80’s.

And the 35-45 year old kids love to buy fox bodies and turn them into shit box drag cars and the 25-35 kids love to cut them up into trashy drift cars. Point is Ford has a hierarchy and the notchbacks are great for both of those cause no one cares about a belly button car at the bottom of the hierarchy list.
@@timberninja Well that’s a terrible reply. The belly button fox body are the hatchbacks. Just because a car was cheaper new like the notchback doesn’t mean it can’t be more desirable later on. Weird how the most luxury muscle cars of the 60’s/70’s aren’t what guys want today. They want a bare bones no options bad ass car. Also if you are into mustangs because you want a unique car that’s the wrong reason to be into them. Nothing unique about them as they made a ton of every mustang regardless of desirability.
@@mysterycomment1553 Not sure what crowd you’re hanging with but Barrett Jackson says otherwise, a Yenko is worth more then base model Camaro, a GT 500 is worth more then a base model Mustang, the reason they might be more desirable is for reason that don’t concern me or my car community, the notchbacks are great for budget builds but are not collectors cars because the production numbers are huge, hence the belly button car, it’s probably just a desirable as 240sx or BMW m3. Cool cars but dime a dozen. Have fun with your notchback I’ll have fun with my hatchback, either way opinions differ on the models glad your into cars. Be safe out their.
The notchback has a lightweight chassis? ROFLMAO. Yeah. And a heavyweight powertrain that makes them fat pigs given their wheelbase and trackwidth and miniscule "cabins" and cargo compartments i.e. "trunks". They're 2-door "compact sedans" and not "coupes" or any other type of "sports car" or "muscle car" and look about as "aggressive" and "tough" as a Mustang II, lol.
I bought my notch in 87 and still own it. A blast to own and drive.

I have a 87 gt convertible and a 89 notch back and the notch is in a class all by it self is unique is different from all the other mustangs.
