Fox for life . I have an 85 and an 87 I bought in 88 . I have had many others in the past and will have many more in the future. Love the B-cam and its wonderful sound .
As a matter of fact ; YES! I WENT to the Hun School in Princeton NJ and two dudes from the Middle East (Oil Money) each had a brand new one in 1979. They used to park them down by the gym. But I really wasn’t much of a fan of the Fox body yet. These cars did NOT come wiTh 5 lug wheels or big rotor disc brakes with phat calipers. The stock 4 lug wheels and joke stock rear DRUM brakes sucked! Front tiny rotor and joke small caliper clampers were weak sauce. My 1986, SAME STORY. MY whole braking system from the master cylinder on out is new and stock. And they work “fine” but don’t expect to track the car. Looks like you really beefed up a lot of stuff. Are you running the 7.4 or much better 8.8” Rear?? Traction Lok
Subbed. Thanks for showing off the pace car! That's the car that got me addicted to fox bodies. I currently own a pace car, 79 cobra, 82gt, and 82 capri.
OMG this is awesome! I had one in the 80's but mine was the 2300CC turbo. She got tired from all the street racing and after a rebuild the turbo kept going into overboost. Found out later head was shaved but they never compensated with a thicker head gasket. Pulled engine and put a California Highway Patrol 302 and posi rearend out of same Mustang. The rest is history!
Only the s550 cars are crowd killers because of the independent rear suspension and traction control my 2017 gt almost killed me because of stupid traction control AND IT WAS OFF but kicked back on and spun me out. I sold it 5 days later fk independent rear suspension and all that technology ill stick with foxbodys and solid axles.
@@mccranahan747 plenty of you tube videos of SN95 and S197 hunting down crowds and traffic. Also it’s fords awful traction control systems that causes the loss of power to one wheel which kicks out the cars rear end. No matter which model or rear suspension.
First off just sick ride man Love it and that sound nothing sounds any thing like a mustang just awesome but I do have a ? Bout what Rpm are shifting outa first gear at just curious it just sounds like it's reving at to high rpm before you shift outa first dont know maybe it's just the way it sounds to me? But sweet ride and merry Christmas
Nice car sir! My son has a 92 GT and I am currently building a 351 with a B303 camshaft, trick flow heads and we are gonna run factory fuel injection with better injectors, once it’s in and all bugs worked out we have a 78 mm turbo to put on it, should be a fun car even without the turbo
I had a stock 5.0 4 speed Pace Car. It was a car begging for improvements like replacing the TRX Michelin’s and setting them on fire 🔥,, replacing the 4 speed with a 5 or 6 speed then crushing it. Adding a panhard bar and replacement of the rear suspension bushings then installing larger brakes.
Thanks man, Ya, I did full 01 Bullitt Brakes back in 01 when the Bullitt came out, Has 95 Cobra Booster, MC. and 93 Hard lines. She has some Brakes for sure!
Looks great!!I have a 88 notch 5.0 5 speed. Owned since 92. It is not very nice these days. Everybody wants to buy it. I tell them to bug the guy that has a 84 GT350 (white and red)that I drive by every day. I see that car on the road once a year.
The 88 has a B303. That is what you mean? It also has a Tubular top GT40 intake i bought new in the day. I also have the VW tires on factory softtop aluminum spare rims.
@@foxjunk73 I always ran flowmaster 40s but switched to Spintech probably 5 yrs ago I like them because they are quite while cruising but are really loud under WOT.
Never sell your Pace car! I have a 79 Cobra my favorite possession. I drove in a 79 pace car my buddy's brother bought new in 79. Wanted one ever since.
Looks great and sounds great. I’m just puzzled by the way you throw the cover on the driveway. You’ll be picking up sand, gravel etc off the ground and grinding it right into the paint. 🤷 This is the second video you’ve done this in. How about rolling the cover from front to back, opening the hatch and storing safely in the car.
Thanks for the Concern man, My Driveway is normally rock and sand free, However we do the Car cover shake before we put them back on. Normally if I have car out all day, they go in the Garage, but for short Trips, no need for that.
Something like that. You might actually be a little too optimistic lol! They were pretty bad. But, those were dark times for the hot rodders and this was a great package with some cheap upgrades. Swap cam, intake, and carb and they would wake up. You could even grab an early (69 or 70 casting) set of heads and the fun would really start... add some port work and lower gear. Lots of guys were swapping the old 4 speed toploaders in after trashing the weak srod 4-speed. My cousin had one with a hot 351c in it. That car really hurt some feelings around town. It's only downfall was traction!
Really nice car. No difference in cobra short block and any other 5.0 HO motor. 94 and 95 didn’t have forged pistons but I know of no benefit. Seats look awesome.
Agreed, on the .485 cam. I’m not 100% on the lighter weight flywheel. I’ve seen some reputable people say that is not true. Regardless, this car makes more power than a 95 cobra and it has nothing to do with 95 cobra short block. GT40 heads, intake, injectors, and maybe computer, gave the slight increase in power the cobra had over the GT.
