I just bought the 4080S and this card has exceeded my expectations. I can max out my 1440p 170Hz monitor in many games, and even demanding RT games like The Witcher 3 runs amazing (around 80fps with ultra and uber settings mix, 120fps with DLSSQ, and up to 170Hz with framegen). This card is so damn fast that I can even run most games at 4K internally (DLDSR / downsampling) to get a more detailed image in blury TAA games. The only game that does not run well on my PC is Battlefield 5. For some strange reason MSI Afterburner OSD does not work and I get massive stuttering even during prerendered cutscenes. People on reddit wrote that the last patch introduced a new anti-cheat system and it broke the game, so I guess I can't blame my PC for these stutters.
Hey guys, I got a 3060 with an i5 10400f and 16gb 2666 mhz ram and yet I still only get around 60 - 70 fps on ultra graphics dlss quality 1080p (goes even lower in some certain scenarios and the extraction mode). Both the cpu and the gpu usage is between 50 - 60 percent. Is there a problem with my pc and if there is how could I solve it?
yeah, back when I was a little lad (90's), PC gaming wasn't a massive thing around here (Brazil) and I remember entering with my mom at a supermarket and there it was, this massive triangular shaped box with 3 delta force games inside, I can't remember if I just cried for, or if my mom got it for me, but I'll never forget that box....HAHAHAHA

Kryzzp, can you test if Ultimate settings give you low quality on character models when you are sniping them from long range like High settings or lower do?

I'd use low settings if it isn't possible to get high FPS with higher settings. Not much point in testing the 4080S on low, although I will do it when it fully releases anyways. 8K is just for fun.

you have a slow cpu, I know this because I have the same build, the 10400f is a very slow cpu and is need of an upgrade
Cpu bottlebeck is the reason for that, if your gpu usage is far from 100% your cpu bottlebeck the game
that 3060 deserves a better CPU. Get an either i7 11th gen or an i5 12th gen, it'll smooth things out for you

It makes sure the game only runs on the 3D cores, which are faster for gaming

At 27" would you say 4k 160hz is preferable to 1440 240hz or is the difference not too noticeable at that screen size.
It isn't too noticeable at that size, I can tell the difference but 1440p already looks very good at 27" and 4K is a lot harder to run
