He was an opening act for Clutch in detroit last year, Almost skipped his opening act, but I was extermely happy I did not. He won me as a fan that day. He look crazy as hell when he sings, but his music is beautifully haunting.

As a former alcoholic who has now been 3-1/2 years sober, this song was absolutely about alcohol. I felt this song to my core.
I first read your comment and thought "no, way. Its a dark romantic song." And now every time I listen to it, I picture him holding a bottle of liquor, and it makes complete sense. Having family members who suffer from it, 100%. Congrats to you on overcoming it!

At his 21st bday woke up to his girl overdosed next to him, she didn't make it back. His dad a sheriff, him known as the black sheep of the family. Get thru it and keep going. I absolutely love the way you wrote this. I lost my beloved one after many years of addiction, and I did go through hell with him, the question of doing so had never needed be imposed. Unfortunately, I did have to step back and let go. One can only walk through such a purgatory for so long with the one they love and adore before they too lose their faith and their way. Again, beautifully written, as is the dreamer song. All of them really. One of my favorite singers. Blessed be.

I was sceptical at first, but “I wanna be where all the stupid shit I say sounds so romantic and true”, typical of certain inebriated folk. “Take the shot, see this chance, feel the fire and let me have this dance” could be the liquor speaking to him, or him convincing himself that’s where he wants to be.
In the studio version the song actually slows a little after he says this, giving off a sort of intoxicated effect.
Dunno if it’s at all accurate but I wouldn’t have seen it if I wasn’t there myself one time, an amazing song either way

if you ever see him live, you might hear him talk about his personal demons. Hes been through some shit. Hes such an amazing, kind soul and his stage performance is out of this world!
My ex split 9 months ago. Was with her for 4 years and she ghosted me a month into a job i got to start supporting us and get us off our feet. I havent been able to play my guitar since so when i do play i feel like im gonna look just as frantic and crazy as this guy when i get hit with the random mood swings. Not to knock the look you make when you play, i think its totally awesome and makes it interesting to watch especially when you throw in those deep voiced lines like "IF I WAS DEAD I'D- float"
Edit: 3 years later and i can tell you his personality doesnt just split when the voice goes deep. It splits in moments where he says "i want to be, where all the stupid shit i say..." where as the studio recording says "alll the stupid things i say..."
