My man we definitely need more of this for sure
Thank you man :) appreciate that 🤘🏻
@@ChrisTurnerDrums really cool! Love it
What a fucking awesome process. I love watching other people's writing process it's so intrinsically interesting how everyone just manages to "get it done" in their own way. Fantastic work my friend.
Absolutely man! I’m glad you enjoyed seeing my process :) 🤘🏻
Definitely turn that first one into a song. It's groovy 🤘
Thanks man!! I might have to haha
@@ChrisTurnerDrums 😎
@@ChrisTurnerDrums You do
Your brand of technical metal core(and ocean’s by extension) is some of the coolest music that’s come out in reason memory
Thank you so much dude :)
I'm entirely happy with this 👌🏾
😅🤘🏻
Omg Chris that graveyard song at 11:00 is UNREAL..got it on repeat
Holy fuck, the second song you showed at 6:38 is absolutely filthy. Please make this happen one day. The drums are 👌 and those chugs are perfect, they sound MEATY 🥵
16:38 - referring to Butcha Boys as super simple drumming - Chris, you're on another level 😆
I wish you write more stuff like in HIGH HORSE! Man the drums on that song was mental! As much as I love the Djent stuff from Steezy, I would love to hear more technical and "over the top" prog stuff from you in the future (or at least a mix of both)! Love seeing the process Chris!
Chris, my dude, this is phenomenal. Humble, real and eye opening. Cheers brother 😁
Thank you so much man :) glad you enjoyed it :)
Man its always special to see someone in their element. Likely the happiest you'll see a person. It also blows me away that you can throw literally whatever combination of drums into your computer and unquestionably slay the part. Id love to see studio days of you on the drums and the lead up to get that one take vid. Anyway man steeze is probably shaping up to be my favourite album, keep doing you and i look forward to whatever you have in store for us in the future.
thank you for that vid!! i also have the approach to writing by something often creating something beyond my skills and learning it! it's just some much fun to learn these things later and seeing your development through it :D
I have to say, the song at 10:59 has become my favorite over the first song you said you might make into a full length. I love them both really. 😋😅
Love getting behind the process! Amazing work my guy. Keep at it! 💿
Absolutely loved watching this, mate.
This is one of the best videos Ive seen in a minute. It screams like it was made for me. Love you Chris keep it up!
Your writing room seems so peaceful! 😊 love it! I hope you carry on with this project!
You just came up in my recommended at some point and I instantly liked your stuff, just absolutely adore how you combo trap and Djent so flawlessly, your kick skills are also NUTS!
Ty for sharing. This is awesome. Dying to get pro tools. Used it back in 2014- Definitely addicted now to get this back in my life. Learning these beats and perfecting them is unbelievable. Definitely would love to see another video of your creative process. Ty Chris .
TY! TY! TY!!!! you are awsome !!! you are crazy and now i buy pro tool and pull out crazy drum and song for sure . ty for all chris love you :D
Hell yeah that’s a song! LFG! 🤘🏽😎
Super cool and insightful
You're the greatest. I have real bad writers block and I love listening to your music and watching your playthroughs. Thank you so much
All of your composition are freaking amazing dude 😎😎
I love this. Found a bunch of similarities with my writing process as well, your “graveyard” of ideas on the far right side of the DAW is just like the “idea boneyard” I’ve got in mine as well. I’ll end up having a great idea but just nothing to incorporate it into at that time. Always nice to be able to come back to it or reference it at a later time. Good to know there’s others who have a similar process! It’s easy to get into that loop of “ideas” but not turning it into a “song” though. That’s what I struggle with the most.
Awesome work mate 🔥 i'm really impressed
You've always been an inspiration to me not just as a drummer but as a musician! The crazy part of it is I am a guitarist and I am now planning to play drums as well! Always love all your projects, no matter what band you are in or any features you are on. You really have your own brand and I am amazed at how you can work with almost everyone in the scene! I'll always be one of your avid fans. Just waiting to turn into an AC unit.
This is super super helpful. I've always wondered what your writing process has looked like and those are some great tips.
Also loved hearing the unreleased stuff 🔥 would double love it if it was released some day 👀
Yes you should turn that into a song!! That was so DOPE!!
Totally dug this for sure
Hope to see youon tour in america soon, love all of your work. Please dont ever stop.
Good stuff. Very useful by the way. Thank you.
That first one is sickkkkkk. It's crazy cause I was just wondering about your writing process when this vid appeared on my feed. My phone is reading my thoughts lol.
Insane, i come up with some riffs like that too, thought i was the only crazy one, great job!
Just like the surroundings! Nice setup
Como suenaaa... grande Chris. 🔥🔥🇲🇽🇲🇽🖤🖤
Can't wait mate! 😃
Thanks dude :)
Was super curious as to your process, thank you for putting this together 🙏
Hell yea dude! Thanks for watching 🤘🏻
Cheers dude! Love the tracks man! Keep them coming
Thanks man 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Thank you for putting this together! It was enjoyable to watch and super helpful!
Glad to hear man :) thanks for watching 🤘🏻
Love you're work Chris. Blows my mind that you were able to learn and play it on drums. And absolutely spot on without mis hit or anything. Extreme talent mate. Hats off to you.
Is there anyway of getting some of the guitar DI off you? I've been trying to do similar stuff on my computer but most guitar tracks don't match up in the blocks like what you've got. I'd happily pay for them $$
You did it! Thanks man. Great video. Very informative
Thanks so much dude :) glad you dig it 🤘🏻
We need that full release 😫
This was awesome, thanks for sharing this Chris!
Welcome! Thanks for watching :)
Also, I’ve listened to steezy a solid 20 times since release, turned a bunch of my buddies onto you, reconstruct is my favorite, always looking forward to your content
YESSS CHRIS TURNER 👍👍👍
Man, that rhythm with the dotted 8th note China hits was SPICY! 🔥 Keep it up bro!
We definitely need both dan and jibs in the room with you for the next video! Very quirky and eye opening writing process with the drum one shots, and your sense of rhythm is impeccable. Can’t wait for more!
Sick! Thanks man :) 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
“I’ve got it running through two bass amps to really stank it up”
Love it lol
Man this is unreal
Thanks for the incredible insight, this is what makes me just love the world of music…
Thank you so much for posting this…means the world
Hell yes dude, thanks for watching man 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Loving this video! As an amateur musician that's been struggling with songwriting, this has been really helpful for me! Really enjoyed the album as well!
Sick! Glad it was helpful man :)
Man, get all that stuff out of the graveyard and give us a second record, there is so much awesome things in there. Love that piano kind of stuff at around 11 mins.
Keep up your ideas and free mind in this writing process. What sounds good to you and makes you laugh will definitely sound awesome to me when I think of your first record.
I loved this video
This was amazing, love seeing other musician’s creative processes. Wish more would do this, I always learn some good stuff!
Absolutely man! Glad you enjoyed the vid :)
Thank you for doing this man!
Welcome! Thanks for watching dude :)
Dope vid man. Loved you going through the boneyard.
Chris was awesome drummer.. one of my favorites
Jeezus fahking craist that last idea... I legit had so many ideas to it, guitar and drums, damn Chris we will work together one day! Trust in my words!!! Absolutely insane!
this is crazy to see as someone whos only been writing for 2 years, I'm literally the same where the stuff I make in my DAW with just programming is so much better than anything I'd make on my instrument. Really inspiring thanks for this
Chris Turner, Luke Holland, Matt Greiner, Cameron Losch.. 4 of the best drummers in the world that I’ve been blessed enough to meet, hug, and express my appreciation for!!! Can not wait for Oceans to come back to the states!!!!!
All love my brother keep up the amazing work and I very much appreciate the influence you’ve distilled in me over all these years drummer to drummer real deal!!!
🔥❤️🔥🤘🏻❤️🔥🔥
I absolutely love this!!
Thanks dude :)
Put it as a bonus track! Damn thats a banger dude as always.
Just beautiful content.
YES!!! Thanks for this Chris (:
Welcome! Thanks for watching :)
USE IT! I need that song :D
this will be epic
Dude! That last beat was just straight filthy. You gotta get with dan and finish it. 🔥💪🏼🤘🏻💯
Definitely turn it into a song!
Good shit pal.
Every time you played the demos, my face got mean right away and I was like "fuuuuck, I love this" hahaha
That’s what I like to hear haha! Cheers man 🤘🏻
Thanks !
Ayo Chris 4:10 we need a full song on that XD thing hits man
😎😎😎
Dude clicks that mouse just as hard as he hits the drums 😂
Dude it’s so sick to see you write in a very similar way! And some of those graveyard parts actually went hard 👌🏻
I wanted to ask too, with the little guitar chugs that you mentioned you pitch up or down, do you record a single guitar chug as an open to do that pitching up/down or how do you go about that?
Would be sick to see a video of you piecing an idea together from scratch if you feel like doing one 🤘🏻
Yes use that
This is awesome. Thank you for sharing:]
Cheers for watching! :)
Yo that first bit absolutely should be turned into a song. That slapped
MAKE THAT A SONG FOR SURE, OMG THAT WAS FIRE
Absolutely use that beat for a new song!!! Super dope and jenky!!! Guitars sound sick in it also!!
Thanks dude :) there’s still some mad ideas to come! 🤘🏻
As a guitarist and someone who self-manages his solo project, I find myself obliged to work on the drums for my songs, and one of the drummers I see the most lately to inspire me is you, so I really appreciate you taking the trouble to show your creative process , greetings from Argentina!
pd: sorry for my bad english, i used google translator xD
The track playing at 14:00 can definitely be an awesome track, I can feel the feels that would be in the rest of whatever that song would be 🙌🏽
This process is awesome dude! Your Solo album is soo good and the new OAA is sick! What Software do you use? 🤟🤟🤟
This is a really good knowledge
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Yes! Turn into a song
More like this plssss
Daaang u gotta keep making videos like this man , foooor real
I think I will :) thanks!
turn that in to a song!!!! cheers from Portugal!
Dude you should totally put out that unreleased stuff! Everything you do is gold! I've found as I've gotten older I have a harder time listening to entire albums start to finish. Usually just throw on a genre of music or a particular artist on random. However with "Steezy" I drove around work with it on repeat, in order, for two eight hour shifts. I couldn't get enough of it!
Oh man that’s so sick, really glad you’ve been able to appreciate the full piece 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Did you make those one shots yourself or are they from somewhere? I can't find any that sound anywhere close this good.
As a drummer with no experience on guitar, this is super helpful. No right or wrong ways, just demo out the ideas and get it to a guitarist
Geez, literally everything you play here is gold
Haha cheers man 😅🤘🏻
Came to the comments to say you better turn that first jam into a song 😍😍😍
Nice. Agree with the other comments. More videos of this, and more single releases of the unreleased music. Love them, and will continue buying them.
Absolute hero 🙌🏻🤘🏻
love the hip hop over it
Yo that thing you made in like 2 minutes is unexpected heat, should look into that and expand
Better be backing up those tracks somewhere other than your house/local computer. If a flood or fire happens, you could lose everything. Offsite backups are a must!
Definitely need to turn that into a song haha
The drums are very reminiscent of Lost Isles😍
That signature chris turner writing technique is 100% dope! and turn that into a song mate! sheeesshhhh
Hell yea dude 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
This "chorus idea" and "verse idea'" is a whole vibe on its own.
Right?! It was sad they didn’t make it
