Hey man just wanted to comment, I dont play but I watch HOMM youtubers, thank you for expanding the community and making it more popular, these guides are very interesting for me as I only played this game as a kid and never played it "efficiently" so thank you for every one of these videos and trying to make the game a better place for newcomers :)
just try it again man. I played it as a kid too. Started playing again last month. Its even more fun because i understand more :D but still a noob. This guy breaks at day 7 i break at day 49 haha :d
@@UniversaalUniversum Yeah I did, for a while, but I realized I have other priorities at the moment and then I forget about it, I do think about it from time to time, and fantasize about playing but never actually get around to it.
Hi Lexiav! I really love the content that you're sharing with us. I've been playing Heroes 3 a lot when I was a kid and I have great memories with my friends playing hotsead mode during the summer break. A match would go the entire summer, as we liked gathering huge armies and then bashing eachother with 300 Archangels/Dragons etc. However, watching you play the game is something else. Also, the ranked matches that you're posting are really confusing to me. Do you actually play versus your opponent on the same map? Is there ever a 'decisive' fight? I think that an in-depth tutorial of the most basic things that you do during a game, as well as an explaination of how the ranked games actually play out would be magnificent! Take care and thank you again for the content
They are real 1v1 matches. You get a biome generated based off of a template. The ones you see are usually Jebus Cross which means you start in the middle town of your biome, with 2 unclaimed sidetowns - and so does your opponent. in order to get into the desert you need to get through a break - an exceptionally strong group of neutrals. You are allowed to scout your biome and reset twice on day 1 or once on day 2 if you don't like it (111 and 112). Decisive fights will generally happen in the desert, but if the player dies vs neutrals losing their army/main hero they usually call gg as to not waste players' time (if they can't reset at that point)
Lexiav, really looking forward to the tutorials after all the tierlists! I was wondering what they actually did to make Tower even remotely playable in HOTA on Jebus: 1. Magi building no longer blocks your path to get genies, nagas and giants 2. Added Lamps where you can get speed 11? units on top of the rest of your army Okay, this makes sense, interesting changes to improve balance and actually give tempo to Tower. Thank you for the great content, keep it up! :)
I like much more this type of map than the one with boxes. It's much slower but more fun to me building your town and recruiting your units from your starting faction.
There is a whole document out on that topic. Like a real academic paper. But to sum it up. To get earth magic you need a barbarian, ranger, overlord or beast master. Pick the magic school during lvlups always. Then you are secured earth magic at some point. Warlocks death knights and necromancers are alright, but they might just not learn earth. You could be unlucky.
Could you do a guide on brawling? When and how to kite, how to use 1 stacks, how to tell if you can take a fight? I'm a casual player and just want to improve my singleplayer a bit
Hey, I liked the snowball pun in the title, why change? Still, a pretty cool instruction for one of my favorite factions! Sad that Titans are not a part of the meta :'(
why not torosar as a starting hero ? you get ballista to clean up early maps, starts with magic arrow to clear up most of the map early on along with mystic to recharge from fight to fight and you also get tactics , which tower having so many ranged units and even early on can benefit immensely ... he is also an alchemist which means he get a more balanced range of stats making his troops on average better than a wizards one (for example your range unit will do more damage over time)
Yeah! Torosar could be your first choice aswell. As stated in the video, i see most tower heroes to be preety bad overall compared to heroes of other factions, so you're very likely to find an actual main in the tavern rather than main your started choice, so it's more like choosing a secondary bonus. If the secondary bonus of your choice is a balista, magic arrow hero and a guy with tactics for some early Black Tower / Ranged fights then that's alright! Nothing wrong with that choice. :)
Oh, and also mixed stats is a bad thing, you usually want a very mighty guy, or a magic guy. Think about it this way, the more knowledge you have, the more every point of power benefits you. The more power you have the more every point of knowledge benefits you. Simmilar thing for might stats too. The worst primary stat growths for heroes are the ones that don't focus on something and are all over the place. This is why elementalists are the best mages ( 0/0/3/3 ) and Beastmasters/Barbarians ( 0/4/1/1 - 4/0/1/1 ) are the most preferable might heroes. Stacking same type of stats is the strongest.
It seems to me that terrain disproportionately affects tower/cove/fortress, basically forcing you to only use native troops or suffer pretty bad terrain penalties. In your experience, is this actually a problem for factions from rough terrains?
Yeah, definetly. It is the thing that holds these factions from being top tier. Every faction has its up and weakneses, and for Tower, Fortress and Cove. Less so for Stronghold.
In this game zone, my multiple day chains for the far out conservatories with many heroes would have been easy pickups on a few instead on non horrible terrain :D

Oh! I should have shared. In Jebus Cross, your starting zone is connected to a very lucrative desert zone. To go from your zone to the desert by killing the guard is to 'break'!
two tutorial videos in a row Lexiav gets distracted by the shiny on the side of the road and misses taking a neutral town by a turn

I didn't unerstand what u do, but really enjoyed the video. :D
How about make a tier list video about templates?
Is it any useful picking skills like interference or antimagic? Or mages will still always win against a might hero?
Dude your videos are sick. My friends got me in this year and im 25. Its waaay better than league of legends. Its a great community. Cheers!

Mr.RUclipsr conflux vid when??
Joking, loooove the vids keep it up man!
Eh, i have some bad feeling, from that for Tower main hero is not Wizard or Alchemist. I love Tower and his Heroes.
Also, why Jebus Cross so popular?
Jebus cross is probally popular since it is simple! It is easy to get into, and the matches are not too long, so it an easy choice for many players.
Its a good content. Well done!
What are your HD settings? My game never looks as good as yours :(

Will it be good idea to reroll this map at 111?
Yeah. Black dragon break without any hives is rough. Not too much to start off of either.
I don’t think you should ignore buying a mage guild early for the sake of “tempo.”
guys pls help why cant i join the room any ide.a it either don't find the room or when u join and put password in it does nothing
