New football boots should be better, right? Well, maybe not all the time.
For 2022, Adidas just launched their latest "speed" boots in the form of the X Speedportal+ and Speedportal.1. They look cool and claim to have a bunch of tech improvements over the previous generation Speedflows, but here's the thing, those were already really good! So have they actually improved, or is Adidas going backwards?
In today's video we compare the outgoing X Speedflow+ and .1 to the new Speedportal+ and .1, going over exactly what the differences are, where they've improved, and where they've simply made them worse! If you were thinking of upgrading, make sure you watch this video first!

speedflow+ will go down as one of the greatest boots in history
Always a shame when they discontinue a boot you really liked and replace it with something worse.

In football boots, this is almost always the case. Ie og Predators, F50s replaced by aces and xs. Vapor 8-11 being lighter and/or better than the rest. Puma King Platinum og vs to every other Puma King Platinum
I had the same experience going from Vapor 13 to 14, thankfully the 15 is a return to form
i have the speedflow but i worn them out so i went to my local sport store and i tried the new speedportal and they felt worse and i couldn’t believe it it felt loose and it didnt right on my feet

Bro same, I tried them on in my perfect size 8 & I was in disgust with how they felt on feet. I’m so happy that I didn’t like the looks on the speedportal already so I went with another pair of the Speedflow.1. My gut literally told me bro 😭🤣

Thank you, you are the first one who talks about the toebox of the speedportal. Its horribal. You have no touch there, because its to high so there is so much deadspace

I just feel it would have been so much better if adidas had not changed the upper and it’s construction from the Speedflow while only making small tweaks with this new soleplate/stud pattern.
I got take down speed flows and honestly they feel really good i dont know what takedown model they are but they feel better than a lot of boots ive tried
Would love to give these or the preds a try in the ag versions but why did they go away from the roundish studs for the ag variation it doesn’t seem to make sense? My speedflow ags are excellent on ag

I love my speed flow.1 my only complaint was the rollover. So I'd find myself switching to my vapor 14s. Definitely the best speedboats Adidas has ever released. I'll be getting extra pairs for the future.
Definitely not the best speed boot. That would be the F50 2010 or F50 2014, which are tied. Many grams lighter and very pingy

@@JonathanRodriguez-nz9nwhonestly I think I’d take the snappier soleplate for the weight increase. The snap back when running feels weight relieving in itself.
Love the speedflow and the f50 design language. But they are WAY less durable than the adizeros. Mine ripped within 3 months of use because I got stepped on, never had any issues with the adizeros
My speedflows have lasted 6+ months of getting stepped on and use multiple times a week at the least
Funny enough I own the Speedflow+ and .1 in the same colorways as on the video. I don’t doubt the Speedportal will still be a hot seller, Adidas didn’t make it as polarizing as the Copa Sense and Predator Edge. Out of the Xs that I have used over the past few years, I still personally like the X18.1 the best.
Also, the Speedportal has really chunky shape next to the Speedflow. That heel just looks bulky.

Do the speed flows tear like the speedportals?
I think flow is better but I have the portal and it's tight on the ankle doesn't hurt it's just unbreathable and wide on the foot I do feel fast but I think the flow will rip if then hard or get stepped and portal has more aggressive studs so idk
My speed flows wore out sooo fast. Had a massive hole on the side that made them unwearable

Crazyfast or Speedflow?
I would say speedflows because I’ve wore them a lot for about a year or two but that’s because I got two pairs of them. I would say go half a size down on them and overall i prefer them over crazy fast. I think crazy fast cleats are good by the looks but i like my cleats to where when you wear them, I have my foot flat and basically touching the grass. On the other hand, crazy fast has your feet like half on the ground and the heel is like up more and for me that’s uncomfortable especially since I play winger or striker and I’m fast so I like my cleats comfortable for me to move but that might just be because I haven’t wore them and broken into them but i would prefer speedflows +

f50 world cup remake or speedflow .1/+?
Same soleplate, so which upper do you prefer? The front of the F50 is better, slimer with deeper lacing system, too much free space in the speedflow on the top of the toes, but the back of the F50 with no padding is just OK, so much confy and better heel lockdown in the speedflow.
Both excellent boots, if you are old school go for the F50, if you prefer modern boots go for the Speedflow.
But Adidas could do the best speedboot ever by mixing them !
@@gallenza thx. I havent tried the og 2014 f50 because i was 5 yeards old when they came out. I tried the speedflow.1 and i liked them a lot until the heel pods all ripped off but i was wondering which one had a better touch on the ball and better lock down.

The low profile without padding back of the F50 could be a little tiedous for you, not the best heel lockdown, but you will probably love the low profile with deep lacing system front with the best synthetic leather ever (of all time, of all marks) so called Hybrid Touch, the best for the touch of the ball.
