I know if you saved I'm he replaces Hellman in the devil ending, but does he send the same message if you return home rather than go into storage? Tbh I would not put it past them to screw him over like that.

I felt that Takemura and Reed are cut from the same cloth. Both men with a sense of honour, loyalty and who stand by their principles no matter what. Their downfall is that for the most part the groups/entities they invested loyalty in are not worthy of them.

As anyone should do with these Arasaka brats. If you play the Devil ending(Arasaka) Hanako reveals her true colors. She is not honorable the ironic thing is Yorinobu actually had good intentions as he knew what his father was planning and came back to finish what Johnny started and finish off the Arasaka reign. Hanako murders her own brother to let her father take his body. Then the cherry on top is she forgets all about V and in a way so does Takameura who only comes back at the request of the clinic to convince V to essentially digitally enslave themselves to Arasaka while Saburo and Hanako laughing at how naive V was to trust them.

At first, Takemura says the clinic sent him to comfort V, but if you press Takemura on the issue when he’s asking you to sign the contract, he lets slip the fact that he was sent by HANAKO herself to come talk to you and get you to sign over your soul to the program. Also, there’s a cutscene during V’s rehab where Hanako herself is asking the doctors for a complete report on V’s health. These people are not shooting straight with you. They are lying to your face because Arasaka wants V’s engram in their system. It shows just how sinister that ending is and why it’s called the devil ending. It also shows that while Takemura was your “friend” during the game, he’s Arasaka to the core. I ended up going the devil route on my first play through because I was naive, but paying careful attention to the character’s dialogue will make you never choose that ending again. EDIT: Thinking about it now, I wonder if they were also lying about not being able to repair your physical body just to get you to sign the deal. I wouldn’t be surprised if it turns out V’s condition is fixable and maybe in a future DLC they’ll explore that.
I look at Takemura as tragic character. He's not necessarily what I'd call evil, he most just has a strict sense of loyalty and if you don't betray him he even becomes your friend. The biggest problem is that he's a loyal servant to one of the most screwed up corporations that ever existed. Even though I like the guy a lot in some ways, I just can't accept Arasaka.

Lol i'm probably the only one that actually really likes Arasaka. I was hoping you could eventually rejoin them and rise through the ranks and reach huge heights in the corporation. I even wished you could actually take ownership of it fully, and have side missions, and whatnot for it. Loved the idea of owning a huge Japanese megacorporation. I wanted some kind of Arasaka DLC but Idk what kind lol :s
