The meeting with the Maelstrom gang may be one of my favorite moments in gaming. The environmental storytelling, the way their cybernetics look, how they all sound like they speak out of busted old speakers, it builds itself up so well. I wish the other gangs had bombing introductions like this.

um it does tho. in a later quest the gang shows up again and your interactions with the gang change based who u left alive or dead. either royce, brick, or someone else is running things and their thoughts on you depend on the choices u made in the mission
@@EpicMorgana32 I'm aware of that, but I consider that insignificant. It was one small interaction at the club and once that is done it has no effect on how that gang treats you. What I was referring to was in depth relationships with the different factions in 2077. Something with faction missions and a reputation system.

@@EpicMorgana32 OK, you're technically correct. :) It changed a single isolated interactions that did not change things beyond that one conversation script. I would have preferred many such instances that caused apparent long term changes with all of your future interactions with the gangs. As far as some hidden reputation system, if someone had found a way to get in with a gang, corp, etc. the info would be out there. Street Cred unlocks gear and a few side missions but no one dismisses you or fears you because of it (no actual street reputation). Anyway, the game is out and I seriously doubt such a major code change will happen so it doesn't matter at this point.

I got this one on my first play through cuz I was scared shitless of Maelstrom but now I realized they were just dickheads in the end and I missed a special meeting with Meredith.
Yeah and on this ending Meredith dies too, I got the special meeting with her but idk if she is still alive after that, I know you can find her body in the water like old style mafia style were they cement ur feet and put you in the water

This is prolly the only quest that delivers what the game promissed... different endings in which your choices matter. Think there's 4-5 ways to finish this quest.
Well, friend, There are actually a dozen or more quests that have more than 3 ways to finish them. you just gotta replay them. Not a 100% finished game but whatever it is is super fun and way better than stuff that comes out anyway.
Bruh dont even get me started with the Corpo cut content.... I thought this story is reluctant blackmailed right-hand man to this questionable psychopath Corpo CEO. I start with MY OWN faction, already basically at the top, enemies are just as/if not more powerful than us AND out to get us. Being rich and connected while also be forced to undergo clandestine operations in the Night City against already powerful and tactful enemies. In my impressions from the Reveal gameplay Corpo was supposed to be the "dive right into it" story line. Dropped right into the middle of so much shit and conspiracy, while also given tons of toys and contacts already to explore. haha... Streetkid ftw... I guess...
There are few quests that do that. There is skippy, that thing with believing killer (cross scene just pulled my brains out) and delamain quest. And I still did not finish the game.
i love the detail of the Maelstrom guy checking the soles of his boots. From the point of view of Cinematis, the asset could have remain static, but they had the detail of givig him "something else to do". Good.
I love that mission so much! It can be played so much way! You can rip the turrets upon entering and killing everybody, you can side with them, you can end it peacefully...

I wonder what happens in the second conflict mission if you side with maelstrom because you usually either fight through it or you walk out without dropping anyone because you saved Brick. So it would be really cool if you could see what happens in that quest because of this.
I like a lot the Maelstrom and how they fight. This is a 10/10 video. This game is growing on me. After Edger Runners this makes A LOT of sense. I want more about the Maelstrom, work for them have them as my legion. This game can be great. Well it's getting there for sure in 2022.
It's really scummy that this is the mission they showcased for their demo. Especially considering it's the ONLY mission that has this level of branching paths; the only mission comparable to the likes of Deus Ex: MD's mission design that they were inspired by. The other parts of the game don't go even go close to how much player choice this quest had.
If you choose to kill Royce and have a shoot out with Maelstrom you can find Brick and rescue him. He will also appear in that quest and will be nice to you

Yep, and problems with the frontal lobe are associated with a lack of empathy and psychopathy. So Royce deliberately made himself a psychopath with that surgery!
Worth noting that how this mission plays out will affect a side quest that pops up all the way towards the end of the game. Spoilers below. If you sided with Royce and Dum Dum, they'll show up again later, and you might have to take them down during the Second Conflict side quest from Kerry. If you did not side with Royce, and found and saved Brick, he lets you walk out with what you need during Second Conflict. If Royce and Dum Dum are disposed of and Brick is not rescued, then you're forced to fight your way out during Second Conflict.
Will have to test this to see if anything changes if you find the evidence implicating Gilchrist or whatever, before you confront him or he you, as that last part of the interaction with Militech.

Dum Dum would make a fun side ally for a morally bankrupt V, do some jobs for him and get some drugs and Doom Doom free of charge. As sick as Maelstrom are, woulda been nice to side with them on more occasions to really get an evil V.
DONT EVER JOIN MILITECH! If you end up killing Maelstrom you miss out on their secret vendor who sells the best legendary tech shotgun crafting spec in the game!

Royce doesn't worth the trouble. Later in the second conflict mission you still have to escort Nancy out of the situation.
I did this on my first playthrough and got some cool Maelstrom sidequests later on because of it. Plus Royce took a liking to me lol

@@michaelross3241 Maelstrom became a neutral party for me so without spoiling anything I got access/the ability to talk to a few people you otherwise couldn't. edited because I just realized what I said is the subject of the video lol

I think this has effect on side mission where you need to rescue Jhonnys firend from Maelstrom to reactivate his band. Well I kiled Royce so they wanted to kill me later :D
Should’ve freed Brick he tells you he owes you a favor and in that club later he’s mad friendly
