- In a normal year this would have been the first Sunday of Jazzfest in New Orleans, but due to COVID this is the next best thing. Great show by Tuba Skinny from the porch of the Tigermen Den. Bonus points if you spot the devine Maria Muldaur dancing her heart away.

I love everything about this. The music is wonderful of course, but in so many neighborhoods in the U.S. people don't even know each other. Right now folks feel so isolated. Music always brings people together and Dixieland is just the happiest music on earth. This clip is very special. It's what the entire planet needs; to celebrate life. :-)
Maria D'Amato Muldaur was with the Even Dozen Jug Band a million years ago, but her love for her music is alive and fresh, and her approval of Tuba Skinny is good to see!

Many thanks, Randy, for being there to film this for the fans world-wide. This one is a standard 12-bar blues, played here in the key of F and dating from 1927, when it was recorded by The Memphis Jug Band.
Tuba Skinny and the Slick Skillet Serenaders introduced me to the wonderful world of jug band music, especially the original recordings. Those guys put out some great music! 😊👍👍
Me too, Mark. Like you, I enjoy going back to the original recordings from the 1920s and 1930s (most of which have been re-issued by Document Records and have also been kindly put up by enthusiasts on RUclips). This also helps our appreciation of the fine job Tuba Skinny do in keeping the music alive.

Thanks for the appraisal Pops. It's good to hear from you again. I hope you have been keeping safe in the UK. I actually had the pandemic in March 2020, but all I had was loss of taste and smell for 2 weeks and never did even get the cough. I have been taking Dr. Joel Wallach's herbal stuff for 20 years and I think that had something to do with it.
Glad to hear you pulled through, William. As octogenarians, Mrs. Pops and I had both vaccinations early this year; and we have stayed safe. We have hardly left the house in fifteen months.
