This vid and comments confirmed on that weird feeling I have when watching KoC's "guides". Unsubscribing to him now (never liked his build recommendations anyways)

I subscribe to both channels and had a hunch Charmander was refering to the last video. He probably could have been nicer about his "disagreement" especially since there's like only like 4 people making MHnow content.
He's called me out several times now, but i didn't react too much cos it wasn't that bad. But now, it felt way worse, and i was afraid ppl would take his words to heart, so i had to explain my side.

Don’t worry about people taking it to heart because I think most people can recognize the ramblings of a narcissist when they see it. I was already getting more and more annoyed by his attitude but going after another creator in that way was really a new low.
I really appreciate a huge list of things that you do as a creator for this game. 1) player to player engagement 2) no fantasy build vlogging 3) you openly embrace all levels of criticism/advice and even add it as a mention or on new builds. 4) you point out caveats 5) you realize theres not just one meta. 6) you have more mh experience (imo) 7) open minded 8) my friends enjoy it when i share your vids due to most reasons mentioned above 9) you cater to the overall crowd 10) you dont talk about data unless you physically have it to showcase 11) you DONT THREATEN to remove/block players when he disagrees with you or whomever 12) he wont eat his words. You do. 13) you understand more of the hidden mechanisms to each skill in the game. 14) you also adress both Gyro and lock-on gameplay builds. Wearas he's uterly biased. 15) he doesn't think about the skills you "cant" driftmelt. You do. Which shows in the builds you display. I really hope to see more content from you and hope when wilds drops we get a chance to tame the wild. Btw. That guy just doesn't like me etheir. Ive been attacked for months here and there when i point out caveats or things that are important to be aware of. He says "your over thinking it" But hes over there at mhn.... fantasy building and spending money. I want some stats actualy polls and stats from ya. Especially him. Cant go ranting on about data whe. You dont physically have said data....yet. Happy hunting broski. You must be busy af because i havent seen that hr go up to much lately. Im for sure making content for wilds and i hope you guys will still support my channel by then. HR has been slacking sadly been busy with some stuff but i made a commitment to upload at least once a week! Hopefully increase the frequency when wilds comes out!

That guy has some major issues. He said "people that don't whale are just mad cuz they're broke." I think something pretty serious is going on. It's all the time, jabs at some group or some one in every video. It's not a normal superiority complex. It's like a serious narcissistic personality disorder. He needs some help. @PauwerPlays As someone who was inexplicably shadowbanned by MoS. I think there may be something to this. However, the prospect of someone having a condition isn't necessarily a judgment as much as it is an observation lending to a possible explanation for strange behavior. Maybe he wants to try and start a MHNow Content Creator beef or something but I'm disinclined to think that since he's already targeted and harassed a normal, non-content creator, player for weeks. I think he's stopped now but tbh, I haven't looked at his videos since that incident.
Typical whale behaviour from what I can gather, nothing's more cringe than when they're trying to justify their spending/gambling problems by calling people out who can restrain themselves from paying to win.

King of Charmanders is kind of a jerk. I actually told RUclips to stop suggesting his videos which blue moons are more common than when I do that. He comes off as conceited, and was very condescending when I made a mistake in a comment and admitted to it. I've only been playing a month and had never seen the map zoomed all the way out, so I thought it might be a GPS tool. I asked if that's what he was using and I guess he took offense to it, as he responded saying I had no clue how GPS spoofs worked and seems to think all GPS spoofing has a joystick. Even after I told him that's not the case, and there are programs that you just pick a spot on a map, click move, load the game and you'll be there, he seemed to ignore it. Kind of surprised he hasn't gotten in copyright trouble for using Nintendo things since they seem to really dislike people using their stuff. Sorry for rambling. It was just a really poor first time interaction with a content creator for this game, though I did start watching your videos first.

Well that was fast, I knew something was gonna happen. I like the builds being shared here in the comment section, and I'm hoping to get Crit Boost from stones someday because I prefer Lock On, WEx 5, Crit Eye 5 and Burst over Crit Boost. As for KoC builds, I liked the first and third builds but I really don't like the second build. But as for me, I am upgrading all available armors to G6 but only a select 5 armors pieces will reach G9. My Focus, Recoil and Reload Set builds will stay at G6 as they are only my secondary choice of weapons, but If I have extra materials, time and stones then I'll invest adding burst or attack on them, unless Focus, Recoil and Reload are available from stones. The weapons that I primarily upgrade are from Tobi Kadachi, Anjanath, Jyuratodus, Legiana, Rathalos, Zinogre and Coral Pukei and probably Barioth unless something better appears. Fate's Ember for LBG, Diablos and Black Diablos for Bows. You can learn things you don't know from different content creators just like asking a doctor for a second opinion. "Pauwer Plays" is my source guide when it comes to SnS, Lance and CB and probably Gunlance in the future. "Shawnzy's content gives really fun and good recommendations like Fate's Ember having hidden stats on quick reload and his knock out Laguna Blitz build. "Hunter's Notes" is very fun and entertaining to watch much like a food or travel vlog, only it's about Monster Hunter Now.

I saw his vid and it rubbed me the wrong way right away. You made it clear in your vid that giving up Lock On is a huge gamble and driftsmelting is not mandatory and super grindy. I enjoy watching both of your vids for more info on the game so it was a bit upsetting to see him say your information was "bad". Hopefully in the future he can make vids without shading you or anyone else in the community.

I like play evade distance builds since i test evade lance in mh3, when i test evade build in MHN, the lack of damage Made evade builds useless, now with the chance to have evade distance in dirtsmelt skill, makes any build so Fun, currently i use LBG elemental builds with evade distance to reach critical distance ammo type
Daaang the OG evade lance build. Miss that but i just cant get the evade timing witht the lance back hop huhu. I do it by accident when i want to perfect guard. But i think the best source of damage would be aggressive dodger with artful dodger. Just a build im thinking about 😂
That's what I thought so too. Both of you are Filipino but IDK why not just collab and have a share of idea instead of discrediting other's recommendation. I'm currently building. The Slugger Part break CB. I was thinking of using radobaan vambraces, banbaro mail, black diablos helm. partbreaker 5 slugger 4 or slugger 5 and partbreaker 4. But there's no lock on and burst. I'm also using black diablos bow for group hunting with focus 5 and burst 3.
Wow never would have realized he's filipino. Ohh thats an interesting slugger build. Im very inconsitent when it comes to knocking out monster without lock-on so with slugger imma keep it. it took me 20 driftsmelts to acquire one right skill WEX into the right armor which is the Coral Pukei Helm. I don't even imagine how much walking, biking, driving it takes to completely driftsmelt all my armor pieces 😅 Mix matching what i currently have is the way, since all the monsters i encountered will be dead anyway, it's just takes longer several seconds.
Yeeep seems about right. If you're unlucky you should get the skill you want at around the 20th roll. If you exceed that then youre truly unlucky 😂 We'll get there eventually! It will just take more grind no need to rush :)
I believe it's noobish. Anyone with less dmg output with a wide span of knowledge to all the caveats could easily out pace his "fantasy builds" as he doesn't have it. Yet
I dont play now, just rise/ sunbreak and GU private lobbies, but this is likely another case of what i call "meta slave" problems. This same exact type of thing can be seen in a rather high portion of public lobbies in sunbreak (a lot more than base rise, major), they kick you for not having a meta or speedrunning build, or if they join your quests, instantly rage quit if they die even once (or rarely, twice and then rage quit). The top 1 worst monster hunter player to run into, if they join and dont rage quit but take it out on the others or me, i give them a set amount of warnings before they get booted out as i dont want their crummy attitude taking the fun from the others (assuming they dont rage quit some attempt beforehand anyway). these games are designed to be played and enjoyed in various ways, some people just cant accept that or just dont want to but use whatever armor skills/ combinations you love, ignore these types. It sounds like you focused on fun and effectiveness at the same time while considering accessibility and skill level, keep that up
Man public lobbies must have suck. I never played in public lobbies only with friends so i never experienced that. The content i make are from my personal experiences and im glad a lot could relate to it. Thank you for all the support man!

It really stinks for the ones who are more passionate about playing all out meta and not actually toxic about it like the one person you mentioned, they make the genuine ones look bad as well unfortunately

This is like an alternative build if you don't wanna play heroics. Hits weakness for 90% crit chance for a 145% crit damage. Heroics give a 150% damage boost with 100% chance but then again, you must survive the hit, and kinda... Waste potions to maximize damage... Though what if this build is combined with heroics? 🤔
I havent really tested it out but it sounds insane enough to work HAHA Just gotta find the right balance between heroics and critboost while maintaining igh affinity

To be honest, I really like to watch your video more than another one. Because you give a vibe of realistic to play as casual player. Pay attention to information clearly. And the most important - those video are ennoying to watch, I can’t really focus on information since there’s a lot of text on the side video and he keep talking , easy to get confuse
From my experiences with KoC, he doesn't really have any experience with a grind. He actively admits to playing while driving, and also admits that he spends whale-level amounts of money on the game. So of course he is going to be the one with practically max G8 Armor and enough Drift Stones to add Elemental Attack 1 for all his armors with drift smelting.

I've been following both accounts pretty much since the game launched, and my builds are actually based on a combination of both your channels. Basically crit boost affects critical strikes. Affinity is the chance your strikes will crit. The higher crit boost you have, the higher the damage multiplier is for critical strikes, and the higher affinity you have, the higher the chances your strikes will crit. But that's just one part of the formula. You have to take into account motion values, monster weak spots, raw and elemental values :)

I am not trying to contribute to the drama, but I am not a fan of KingOfCharmanders. I prefer your "quality" of videos over his "quantity" of video. You give me the vibe of someone who had a more planned and memorized script in a smooth cadence, while he goes for it in one take just reading a script, with mistakes, stutters, and chaotic speech cadence included. And his remarks or jokes, just come off as arrogant to me, but that could be his character he is playing. That tone or type of personality is not for me. His humor, remarks, tone, is not for me. I'm not against him, but you cannot make everyone happy. Both you and him are great content creators, helping those who need a guide or assistance of a subject. Enjoying and having fun with the game in their own ways. Nobody is perfect, there will be mistakes, or oversights, sure. But It is not very mature of him to jump the gun and accuse someone of doing something when he don't have the full picture. It did not feel like your videos are click bait. But I guess you could avoid the words "best" or any sort of opinion in a title. To prevent this "drama" again. Sometimes I feel people just like creating drama. I already blocked that channel, it was strange to see him come up here in your channel, I'm sorry this happened, but you handled it well. I've probably opened 30 driftstones, maybe 4 by walking, and I'm done with it. I'm a very casual player, but when the bank texts my wife about possible fraudulent charges to our account, but it was me, that's it I'm done. I wanted to experiment with the new system for sure and I want to support Niantic, but the drop rates for what you want are horrible. Just throwing money away. I want Offensive Guard and Guard for my Lance armor and Peak Performance for my Bow, but you get Resistance Resistance Resistance. Hopefully Niantic removes the Resistances from stones that don't belong. (water res on crimson stone??) to help our odds. I'm sorry about the toxicity of that other guy. Love your channel, and I'm now a sub. BTW, where can we get those MHN t-shirts? >:P I'll take a Lance one, please. lol

Got Evade Extender which is fun, and Guts which saved my paper-thin armor on a bad input making me back hop instead of counter guard. Definitely want a shirt. Lance for me, Dual Blades for the wife LOL. I'll keep investigating.

Wouldn't worry too much about KoC. He's ate his own words more than once when it comes to crit among other things. He's been called out for how he presents certain things that can easily come off as offensive or toxic. I wouldn't waste too much time feeding into his antics. He produces a lot of good content... but man does he often say the wrong thing... We all see it.

@genegenetan ive hit offensive guard on my rado helm! I dont really focus on driftsmelting one armor piece. I rotate between a lot of pieces depending on the driftstone i get so i cant really tell how many times ive driftsmelted one armor 😅

This "Beef" is kinda old now but I still wanted to share my two cents about that: The cringiest thing about KoC is that he's not even a good player. He ain't even close to HR 300 (Even I who started playing again in april and was HR39 back then am higher than him) AND doesn't even has his map up to 10 star monsters while "flexing" his complete driftsmelt build on 8 stars ☠ And with all these informations he still has the audacity to share bullds and call out other content creators for it ☠ Bro is just bad at the game and skill can't be bought lmao.
Agreed, as the player of mhw and mhr , there's no one correct way to play/slain monster. There are many way to play it. And for me, it's just a mobile game, throw a money to get perfect build ? Mehh. I just throw money to get the real copy of game. 😂

@@monsterhunternowsg Thanks for all the great CB videos! I never would’ve learned to swipe down while having a charged shield to do AEDs instead of SAEDs. Since manual SAEDs are very committal, it helps to come in clutch when you have a full special meter to go into straight away after getting an AED hit.

It's totally fair to put your perspective out there, but I think it was disingenuous to say that KoC focuses on quantity over quality. I argue that from KoC's perspective his videos are high quality because they are data driven. I'm not trying to say I agree with either side, but I'm trying to shed light on where a fundamental misunderstanding is.

I really hope to see more content from you and hope when wilds drops we get a chance to tame the wild.

@PauwerPlays As someone who was inexplicably shadowbanned by MoS. I think there may be something to this. However, the prospect of someone having a condition isn't necessarily a judgment as much as it is an observation lending to a possible explanation for strange behavior.
Maybe he wants to try and start a MHNow Content Creator beef or something but I'm disinclined to think that since he's already targeted and harassed a normal, non-content creator, player for weeks. I think he's stopped now but tbh, I haven't looked at his videos since that incident.

King of Charmanders is kind of a jerk. I actually told RUclips to stop suggesting his videos which blue moons are more common than when I do that. He comes off as conceited, and was very condescending when I made a mistake in a comment and admitted to it. I've only been playing a month and had never seen the map zoomed all the way out, so I thought it might be a GPS tool. I asked if that's what he was using and I guess he took offense to it, as he responded saying I had no clue how GPS spoofs worked and seems to think all GPS spoofing has a joystick. Even after I told him that's not the case, and there are programs that you just pick a spot on a map, click move, load the game and you'll be there, he seemed to ignore it. Kind of surprised he hasn't gotten in copyright trouble for using Nintendo things since they seem to really dislike people using their stuff. Sorry for rambling. It was just a really poor first time interaction with a content creator for this game, though I did start watching your videos first.

Well that was fast, I knew something was gonna happen.
I like the builds being shared here in the comment section, and I'm hoping to get Crit Boost from stones someday because I prefer Lock On, WEx 5, Crit Eye 5 and Burst over Crit Boost.
As for KoC builds, I liked the first and third builds but I really don't like the second build.
But as for me, I am upgrading all available armors to G6 but only a select 5 armors pieces will reach G9.
My Focus, Recoil and Reload Set builds will stay at G6 as they are only my secondary choice of weapons, but If I have extra materials, time and stones then I'll invest adding burst or attack on them, unless Focus, Recoil and Reload are available from stones.
The weapons that I primarily upgrade are from Tobi Kadachi, Anjanath, Jyuratodus, Legiana, Rathalos, Zinogre and Coral Pukei and probably Barioth unless something better appears.
Fate's Ember for LBG, Diablos and Black Diablos for Bows.
You can learn things you don't know from different content creators just like asking a doctor for a second opinion.
"Pauwer Plays" is my source guide when it comes to SnS, Lance and CB and probably Gunlance in the future.
"Shawnzy's content gives really fun and good recommendations like Fate's Ember having hidden stats on quick reload and his knock out Laguna Blitz build.
"Hunter's Notes" is very fun and entertaining to watch much like a food or travel vlog, only it's about Monster Hunter Now.

I saw his vid and it rubbed me the wrong way right away. You made it clear in your vid that giving up Lock On is a huge gamble and driftsmelting is not mandatory and super grindy.

I like play evade distance builds since i test evade lance in mh3, when i test evade build in MHN, the lack of damage Made evade builds useless, now with the chance to have evade distance in dirtsmelt skill, makes any build so Fun, currently i use LBG elemental builds with evade distance to reach critical distance ammo type
Daaang the OG evade lance build. Miss that but i just cant get the evade timing witht the lance back hop huhu. I do it by accident when i want to perfect guard. But i think the best source of damage would be aggressive dodger with artful dodger. Just a build im thinking about 😂

I'm currently building. The Slugger Part break CB. I was thinking of using radobaan vambraces, banbaro mail, black diablos helm. partbreaker 5 slugger 4 or slugger 5 and partbreaker 4. But there's no lock on and burst.
I'm also using black diablos bow for group hunting with focus 5 and burst 3.

it took me 20 driftsmelts to acquire one right skill WEX into the right armor which is the Coral Pukei Helm. I don't even imagine how much walking, biking, driving it takes to completely driftsmelt all my armor pieces 😅
Mix matching what i currently have is the way, since all the monsters i encountered will be dead anyway, it's just takes longer several seconds.
Yeeep seems about right. If you're unlucky you should get the skill you want at around the 20th roll. If you exceed that then youre truly unlucky 😂
We'll get there eventually! It will just take more grind no need to rush :)

I believe it's noobish. Anyone with less dmg output with a wide span of knowledge to all the caveats could easily out pace his "fantasy builds" as he doesn't have it. Yet
I dont play now, just rise/ sunbreak and GU private lobbies, but this is likely another case of what i call "meta slave" problems. This same exact type of thing can be seen in a rather high portion of public lobbies in sunbreak (a lot more than base rise, major), they kick you for not having a meta or speedrunning build, or if they join your quests, instantly rage quit if they die even once (or rarely, twice and then rage quit). The top 1 worst monster hunter player to run into, if they join and dont rage quit but take it out on the others or me, i give them a set amount of warnings before they get booted out as i dont want their crummy attitude taking the fun from the others (assuming they dont rage quit some attempt beforehand anyway).
these games are designed to be played and enjoyed in various ways, some people just cant accept that or just dont want to but use whatever armor skills/ combinations you love, ignore these types. It sounds like you focused on fun and effectiveness at the same time while considering accessibility and skill level, keep that up

Driftsmelting all elements is a very long quest. Even with instasmelt, there are times that i only get resistances on those 5 tries.

Seriously though...the 'other' channel is basically dumping out garbage that we can find out ourselves. Your channel on the other hand, is the GO-TO for unique insight. I still use the Paralysis build everyday as i like the Support function in group hunts. People always comment how effective the loadout is as they don't have to dodge all over the place when i'm in the team.

This is like an alternative build if you don't wanna play heroics. Hits weakness for 90% crit chance for a 145% crit damage. Heroics give a 150% damage boost with 100% chance but then again, you must survive the hit, and kinda... Waste potions to maximize damage...
Though what if this build is combined with heroics? 🤔

Just gotta find the right balance between heroics and critboost while maintaining igh affinity

From my experiences with KoC, he doesn't really have any experience with a grind. He actively admits to playing while driving, and also admits that he spends whale-level amounts of money on the game. So of course he is going to be the one with practically max G8 Armor and enough Drift Stones to add Elemental Attack 1 for all his armors with drift smelting.
Well that's his goal i guess. We casuals can only hope we can reach that without spending insane amounts of money haha

NGL, I totally thought this was his secondary channel. In my head the voices sounded similar, but now I can hear the difference... I've been following both accounts pretty much since the game launched, and my builds are actually based on a combination of both your channels. question: can you give the formula for final damage with crit boost? where does crit boost add to?
Basically crit boost affects critical strikes. Affinity is the chance your strikes will crit. The higher crit boost you have, the higher the damage multiplier is for critical strikes, and the higher affinity you have, the higher the chances your strikes will crit.
But that's just one part of the formula. You have to take into account motion values, monster weak spots, raw and elemental values :)

I am not trying to contribute to the drama, but I am not a fan of KingOfCharmanders. I prefer your "quality" of videos over his "quantity" of video. You give me the vibe of someone who had a more planned and memorized script in a smooth cadence, while he goes for it in one take just reading a script, with mistakes, stutters, and chaotic speech cadence included. And his remarks or jokes, just come off as arrogant to me, but that could be his character he is playing. That tone or type of personality is not for me.
His humor, remarks, tone, is not for me. I'm not against him, but you cannot make everyone happy.
Both you and him are great content creators, helping those who need a guide or assistance of a subject. Enjoying and having fun with the game in their own ways.
Nobody is perfect, there will be mistakes, or oversights, sure. But It is not very mature of him to jump the gun and accuse someone of doing something when he don't have the full picture.

I've probably opened 30 driftstones, maybe 4 by walking, and I'm done with it. I'm a very casual player, but when the bank texts my wife about possible fraudulent charges to our account, but it was me, that's it I'm done. I wanted to experiment with the new system for sure and I want to support Niantic, but the drop rates for what you want are horrible. Just throwing money away. I want Offensive Guard and Guard for my Lance armor and Peak Performance for my Bow, but you get Resistance Resistance Resistance. Hopefully Niantic removes the Resistances from stones that don't belong. (water res on crimson stone??) to help our odds.

Got Evade Extender which is fun, and Guts which saved my paper-thin armor on a bad input making me back hop instead of counter guard. Definitely want a shirt. Lance for me, Dual Blades for the wife LOL. I'll keep investigating.

Lol... dude, the community is barely that much, depend on cities, and state. Plus, TOP DPS means nothing when you cant melee the whole time and needs to dodge and everything. In the end, it is not really DPS anymore. It is about whatever build and style you like the most. Most of people today playing the same build and it geta boring lol..

@genegenetan ive hit offensive guard on my rado helm! I dont really focus on driftsmelting one armor piece. I rotate between a lot of pieces depending on the driftstone i get so i cant really tell how many times ive driftsmelted one armor 😅

This "Beef" is kinda old now but I still wanted to share my two cents about that:
The cringiest thing about KoC is that he's not even a good player. He ain't even close to HR 300 (Even I who started playing again in april and was HR39 back then am higher than him) AND doesn't even has his map up to 10 star monsters while "flexing" his complete driftsmelt build on 8 stars ☠
And with all these informations he still has the audacity to share bullds and call out other content creators for it ☠

Since manual SAEDs are very committal, it helps to come in clutch when you have a full special meter to go into straight away after getting an AED hit.

It's totally fair to put your perspective out there, but I think it was disingenuous to say that KoC focuses on quantity over quality. I argue that from KoC's perspective his videos are high quality because they are data driven.

The quality that i was saying is more on the time i spend making thumbnails, thinking about titles, scripting the video, shooting facecam, and editing the video.
