    It doesn't really do anything though, does it. It's just a shortcut for going to the apps themselves and copying/pasting on the page.

    This is cool, I think use cases are limited to creative artistic design for now. I will be looking forward to how this projects evolve, real excited.
    Also Apple VisionPro and Meta AR goggles excite me a lot, ability to put my design in front of me on the table as I am designing it, will be huge. A competitor to Fusion 360 has put out a demo. I think those who launch to Meta platforms will also be at an advantage as some of their goggles are also affordable unlike vision pro.

    Insinuating that you may get a «creative» outcome for inspiration is another way of saying it will look shitty.

    - This appears to be an official Adesk channel. Is it?
    - If so, is this add-in an official project, being developed by some part of the official dev team?
    - In another comment, I gave my constructive analysis/criticism. So that I might better understand things, perhaps you could share the intent/factors driving development of this add-in. The roadmap would also be nice for potential users to know (my analysis might be premature).
    - TIA.

  • @swamihuman9395
    @swamihuman9395 4 месяца назад +10

    - First, clearly some effort has been put into this add-in (i'm a programmer myself) - but alas, I do not find it to be a useful application of AI.
    - These tasks would be better done in the respective apps. And, screen capture, plus image import are relatively easy w/o AI (so, no real gain there).
    - As for the image-to-sketch feature, the conversion is too limited to be useful in anything but the most simple/ideal cases. 'Bitmap-to-vector' conversion is very source graphic dependent; there are special requirements for 3D CAD sketches; plus, there are many other considerings, and things to be done in order to get a good/useful result.
    - Nice effort, but IMO (30+ years in 3D, former professional programmer in 3D, regular 3D CAD / F360 user/teacher), my objective/frank assessment is that this add-in is ill-conceived (i.e. a technology looking for an application, not vice versa). OUCH! I know - just being honest.

    • @maedotred
      @maedotred 4 месяца назад +3

      this honesty is incredibly important, because this really doesn't seem like the right direction autodesk should be going (also an experienced fusion user) you're spot on with the technology looking for an application! the only thing i see being useful is the bitmap tracing - i do a good bit of processing logos from time to time and manually vectorizing them has always been a pain. that's the only thing i see fit though. the "design variation" function has no context on the function or design constraints of the model, there isn't even a point here! these options feel like a worse way one could discuss design considerations/changes with contextual conversational models, readily and freely available with much more function than this (and it appears they even rely on those services a good bit? i may be misguided however.)

    • @robotchickenworkshop
      @robotchickenworkshop 4 месяца назад +1

      Agreed. Been looking for a good bitmap tracing to sketch / SVG, and with generative “AI” this could be pretty powerful. The rest not so much.

      Hi! Thank you for commenting and providing feedback! Project Salvador is in addition to other ongoing AI efforts at Autodesk. It is designed to help with conceptual design and ideation workflows and to integrate some of the fast-evolving AI capabilities delivered by our partners. It not only allows users to explore these capabilities without having to license multiple different tools or figure out the best ways to integrate them with Fusion, it also provides us an opportunity to gather feedback and validate approaches to satisfy users' needs. Project Salvador is meant for all kinds of users: from Generative AI novices, to experts who appreciate the convenience of integrated workflows, to users who want more creative tools to aid in conceptual design and ideation. You can read more on the Project Salvador premise here: autode.sk/3UuBz0j
      As existing third-party AI models improve, so will the workflows you can do with them. We are always open to suggestions about what other AI models available through the APIs to try.

      It's Autodesk. They'll launch it as free, build up a large group of people who use it, and then switch to selling it as subscription add on to Fusion that costs a meter $174.86 per month.

      Hello! All apps on the Autodesk Fusion app store are virus scanned before they are made available-it is part of the approval process. We believe this is a false positive from Microsoft Defender. We have confirmed this with Microsoft, they updated their definition, and that warning should be gone now.
