- Learn how to convert a mesh body into a solid body in Autodesk Fusion. Have you inserted a mesh body but need to make edits parametrically? This video is for you! Whether you have 3D scanned a part and need to refine it, or you have downloaded a mesh file online and want to make changes, you will want to convert your mesh file into a solid body to enable parametric modelling capabilities. In this video, Liz takes you through how to convert a mesh and the different options you can pick from when doing so, explaining the difference between Faceted, Prismatic and Organic mesh conversions in Fusion.

Benefits of going base model over the other free option?
Any plans on better performance and stability improvements for conversions? It doesn't utilize HW at all and still crashes most of the time for whatever reason
Day 168 of asking for proper Dark Mode in Fusion
I'm new with Fusion and was surprised at how bad the color clarity is in the dark mode variants with the missing dark mode UI panels. I don't understand why professional very expensive software lacks such a fundamental feature as a proper dark mode in 2024.
Hang in there the noisy hinge get the oil first. Maybe one day they will listen.
Please add shortcut for top vew, front view and side view..
Thank you
Okay wait a minute!!! Why is my fusion 360 not responding when I try it? I’ve purchased a PC because I did’t want these kind a problem but it always happens to me!! I got the highest core i7 processor with 2 32GB Ram DDR5 and a RTX 4060!!! What can I do to fix it?
u should had used lowest core i7 instead of highest.
The terrible faceted option is free and the useful prismatic option is behind a paywall. Yay!
Yeah and the prismatic solid hardly ever works. Always get error messages
u can get access for free, just make a start-up, or register to college. And stop beaching for not giving u everything for free on a gold plate. FYI prismatic dont work like a miracle tools, a lot of times u need to correct some geometry.
Best way is to use mesh as a reference and remake whole model from sketch planes. This is most accurate and most "pro" aproach to the task, and u can do it in all versions.
@@_xano I am paying for my license, but the prism version is still rubbish. Can't polish a turd
@@emanggitulah4319 I was refering to the og post. But triangulated geometry is a mess, and always will be. As u can't have vectors back from once rastered images, u can't have perfect parametric model from stl/3mf. All circles / arcs / splines etc will always have wrong dimensions. Want perfect model? remake it from scratch, there is no other way.
Wait! What? STL to solid body in one click
Yes, that will be 85$ /month or 680/year
Far from perfect regardless of access and spending $$. The reality is Fusion is to STL's what Blender is to 'CAD'. Trying to make a dimensionally meaningful model from an STL other than a 'rough' guide to making an actual model is rubbish.
Day 20000 of asking dark mode
Prove it 😁
Buggier than wine programs ran on a Hackintosh with an AMD GPU and incorrect plist files
The only Wine here is your pathetic automated one. Get some balls and make and raise an issue.
Prismatic solid option hardly ever works. Useless
