@@Kenshiro3rd "Cybertron may have been a shit show, but DAMN did it have incredible toys" Beast Wars was one of the best TF show and has the best toy lines.
Oh man, the nostalgia hits me like a truck!!! (pun intended) I've got a few of these cybertron toys still. Quite old, some broken, and some with loose joints.
A shame that this Optimus came out in 2005, the year when I was a mess in high school and when my life went downhill. Anyway, if my life was different in 2005, I would have bought him then.
@@shanealfhaim1230 A coincidence, huh? Finding this Optimus Prime will be a challenge nowadays. Still a shame that I didn't buy this toy back then, but high school happened.
One of the all-time classic Transformers figures. Looks good enough to make a great collector's piece, plays good enough to make a great children's toy. We need more figures like this.
I love when he and wing saber are combining while talking to ransack and crumplezone and are sll like "no, no. If you want to fight us, we might as well give you the toughest fight we can." It's so smug and hilarious and i love it.
Tech Spec wise..... This is the STRONGEST Optimus Prime of any series. He has 10 in every category except Speed. His speed is 9.5. Other than that, he is STATISTICALLY PERFECT. There is no other incarnation of Optimus Prime as close to Statistically Perfect in abilities as this.
Yeah, me too. I got it as a kid. It was the first transformer toy I ever got. The days where the first live action Transformers movie came out. It was a Christmas present from my mom.. I miss it so much..
My brother got that for christmas years ago, he was very happy and in awe when he got this, he was shocked to see that optimus had the matrix, and he still has optimus today!
Is there an Optimus Prime figure that comes close to having this many features? This guy has fireable plastic missiles, lights and sounds, and 4-6 different modes, not counting combinations with Leobreaker, Wing Saber, and Metroplex's axe!
The fact that this was 10 years ago and I still remember it as one of the first videos I ever watched is crazy…. I didn’t watch it when it was first posted but still it’s so nostalgic and it’s a nice feeling.
The guy who designed Car Robots Gigatron designed this incarnation of prime. The "ears" he was refering to looks alittle like Gigatron. I believe that they represent wings. Awesome review!
I will. Here's why I consider it the best: Cybertron's a fun ride throughout with some good dialogue and character development (Scourge is VERY well done), the kids are intelligent and helpful (even moreso in the dub, which added the "Omega Frequency" that has implications I really like), there is Primus actually doing stuff, and it has a fulfilling ending.
OMG I had this guy when I was a kid! This video stirred up my nostalgia and now i want to go up in the attic and search for this guy and get him out! (had changed houses since then and most of my toys were sealed in boxes and placed in the attic, including Optimus. :( )
Freaking Nostalgia ! i had this leader class years ago when the first movie came out and TF Cybertron was still airing with re-runs of Astro-boy. It was one of my first transformers in my life. I miss it.
I have the repainted version of this toy that hasbro launched with takaratomy like a year after the main toy line for this ended. Still in mint condition. Had it since i was 6, I'm 20 now I have it displayed next to my bed with a sign that says “Childhood” I feel like a kid again every time I look at it. Transformers in general essentially is my childhood and anything with robots is my life.
Sup Emgo, I was fortunate enought to get this figure with megatron. Then months down the line I ended up getting leobreaker, and wingsaber to go along with optimus prime. Oh and believe it or not, this was the first optimus prime toy I owned, same goes for cybertron megs (being the first megatron I owned). Both these guys are awesome ! Cool vid !
I finally found this figure at TFNation last week. Missing the missiles and Cyber Key and needs new batteries for the electronics but otherwise complete and I will review him ASAP as I have Wing Saber to combine with him too...
Combining my love for the Metal Gear Solid's Metal Gear REX, Prime's big laser gun thing is the Railgun and the small cannon is the free-electron laser (without the gun attached). I took the liberty of painting the missle ports on the back pack since faintly remember them as such in the show/anime.
As someone who had this in my childhood, you taught me a couple of things I never knew (aka the wheel suspension and that the legs slide to the sides). But it was kinda upsetting that you didn't show off the noise you get from holding the button.
Murder death truck, surprising... I don't think I can ever get tired of hearing that. Proof great minds think alike, right as you said all powered up I said that's epic... as you spoke it. Rock on! Excellent review.
I am so glad you did this review emgo, I really wanted to know your opinion, for me its my second favorite optimus of all time(MP prime is gona be hard to top for me lol)
I just got this exact model, for less than 10$ at a flea market in Denmark. I never really could afford these toys as a kid. So never really got to play with transformers. But I think it is very cool. My girlfriend doesn’t seem too be interested. Wonder why🤓😅
Awesome review!!! I never got this figure when it came out and never really thought about later on in life but after watching your review I will definitely be picking this up no matter the cost.
This was my first ever Optimus Prime toy, I got it back when I was a little kid. Needless to say, I did wind up losing a lot of parts. I've been finding them here and there, but I doubt I still have all of him, which is unfortunate. If I could go back in time, I'd tell my kid self to take better care of it
When 9 yo me saw this toy back then on RUclips since the first Michael Bay movie brought my love for transformers, I told myself I'd one day get this. I'm now 24 and when I saw this guy on eBay, I saved up and bought him with 0 hesitation. Hey Emgo, did you ever get cybertron Wing-Sabre? Cos when you combine him with Prime... He get even more epic and sick. Hard to believe I know, but true. If you did get Wing-Sabre, maybe Mascot could do the review

I got this when I was younger (Yes, I'm a newer generation Transformers fan, but I still say go G1!) and I have most of the parts except the gigantic wing things and huge guns. They're somewhere, but I have the figure, leg attachments, matrix, and gun. ;)
Not sure if you knew but you didnt show it in the vid, but if you hold the button down on the electronic gun with the key in, you get a prolonged laser noise that actually sounds like it's firing lol. and it loops until you let the button go, which then activated the disgusting noise that apparently simulates a laser hitting....something.
