Exactly! And none of the adults in here was dancing or performing. Of course the mothers had a lot on their plates like filming, making costumes, carrying on a family, getting everybody and everything ready etc. But I cannot imagine what It must have been for the kids... Trying to balance school, school work, dance classes, filming schedules, competitions etc. Plus all the pressure. None of them was old enough to realize how much they had on their plates. Overwork was their normality. Performing and dancing is physically way more demanding in terms of body stress and nerves pressure, and the toxic enviroment was nothing but unbearable.

Chloe and Maddie were so cute in this episode! In the interview Chloe was talking about how she appreciated it when Maddie came to comfort her after her solo and that she was even more happy to see her mom. She was so bashful and encouraged by all the support she was getting, what a sweetheart 🥹

Knowing everything we do about Abby now, it's interesting to see these old clips of Kurt being so adamant about getting his kids away from her. Maddie certainly ended up having an extremely unhealthy relationship with both Abby and Sia and Melissa seemed indifferent about both.
Kurt gets a lot of hate from the fandom for “neglecting Maddie and Mackenzie” but from what we’ve seen of him he seems like the only parent that actually cared about their real well-being. Melissa just wanted little “dolls” (her words) to dress up and exploit so they can become stars and she doesn’t have to work anymore. That’s why she used her multiple husbands so to hear that she cheated on Kurt is not surprising to me in the least. She didn’t care about her child’s father bc he’s expendable. In the notes Kurt mentioned that he went through a period of time where he was struggling and wasn’t getting much support and there were Twitter comments around that time from his family saying that he had depression and wishing him well. It makes sense that this was around the time Maddie was 6 and had to look after Kenzie. Because not only was their mom gone at work, but their dad had their own struggles and couldn’t properly take care of them. But these memories stick. Kurt was trying to be a better person and coming around, and it’s clear to see he was in a better mental space now than he claimed he was before, but at that point, Maddie already didn’t trust him and felt uncomfortable around him because her memories of him are of him being neglectful and her having to raise Kenzie. So much trauma happened to these kids, but the one thing I love about these show notes is how much I see a lot of the moms advocating for other children. It just warmed my heart that Kelly was trying to get Nia to have that final moment on stage for nationals since she was one of the only kids who didn’t have a solo or duet. It’s just really sweet
Kelly was right because of the sound of it Maddie got the most rehearsal time (with two teachers) and this often happens where Abby prioritises Maddie's solo and the group dance. 12:21 Hang on, The girls lost their childhood due to filming, that I can understand but from a video on Dance Moms uncovered, didn’t Brooke during a meet and greet say that Abby founded the Abby Lee Dance Company competition team at age 14? So in a way Abby should have understood what it was like to always be performing at a young age and understand that dancing professionally takes its toll on the dancers.
I was a competitive dancer for 13 years of my life and the jealousy and mean crap that went on (mostly with the parents) was a big reason why I quit at 17. I was very talented but raised in a 2 parent household so the other mother's made me feel less than bc of that. And bc my mom was a teenage mother. It's was grueling so I can't even imagine how these poor girls felt having to work so hard and for so long.

It isn't what Melissa says, Christi makes digs at times and at the time people said that she was just creating drama whereas Christi was at the time saying that she was saying the truth. I always felt weird about that. Bringing strange men (especially men who she cheated with) around her two young daughters always gave me weird feelings. Because we’ve all heard many horror stories about mothers bringing strange men around their young children, especially young daughters. Abby Lee is nice compared to my wretched teacher. Different times. 1980s was a brutal time to be dancing. We couldn’t eat enough to have enough energy to do anything. Beans and brown rice 🤮 to this day I can’t eat either. They would scream at how fat we were. I was 7. Looking back I was malnourished and never even the size of my peers, meanwhile an adult is telling me I’m fat. Passing around info on how to eat and not gain. EDs round the rooms. No fr. If it were my daughters in that situation I’d be mad too.. and so would the people saying Kelly was “jealous”. I mean they’ve said countless times that they’re not jealous of Maddie herself. But the unfair treatment that Maddie gets over other kids who also deserve it because they’re kids and kids don’t deserve to be discriminated against. Especially not by an educator whose job it is to work with multiple different children. It was obvious from the get go that they weren’t jealous or hateful of Maddie (why would a bunch of white suburban Pittsburgh moms hate on a child that’s their own children’s bestie????). People who are STILL saying they’re jealous are just mental at this point. Especially when Abby doesn’t even try to hide the fact that she prioritizes Maddie and treats the other kids as lesser… like it’s right in your face and people choose to be ignorant.

12:21 Hang on, The girls lost their childhood due to filming, that I can understand but from a video on Dance Moms uncovered, didn’t Brooke during a meet and greet say that Abby founded the Abby Lee Dance Company competition team at age 14? So in a way Abby should have understood what it was like to always be performing at a young age and understand that dancing professionally takes its toll on the dancers.
If only! Considering how Abby is, I think she would frame it as: “if I ran my first dance company at 14, the girls should be able to do xyz.”

I was a competitive dancer for 13 years of my life and the jealousy and mean crap that went on (mostly with the parents) was a big reason why I quit at 17. I was very talented but raised in a 2 parent household so the other mother's made me feel less than bc of that. And bc my mom was a teenage mother. It's was grueling so I can't even imagine how these poor girls felt having to work so hard and for so long.

I’m not too surprised by the bra thing honestly since the underwear gifts happened. It’s also odd that Abby is even giving Mackenzie a bra if it was for dance since you usually don’t wear much under a costume including underwear.
The bra was the costume. There was nothing underneath their costume. The pink decorated bra served as the top to their costume for This Is My Beauty.

I understand Kelly was already tired and pushed to her limit but it's weird she was complaining about the attention Chloe and Maddie's duet was getting at the competition when the girls didn't even have costumes yet. Also, the fact that Maddie stayed behind to practice her solo after everyone - even Melissa - left??? That poor child. There's an emphasis on how every other kid was tired but Maddie was really worked to the bone and forced to stay the latest of all of them.

It isn't what Melissa says, Christi makes digs at times and at the time people said that she was just creating drama whereas Christi was at the time saying that she was saying the truth. It makes sense for why she was so thing about the engagement being talked about on the show though stupid of her to wear the ring if she didn't want it mentioned.
I don't know about how long it went on for but def believe that their home was chaotic, Abby said that was one reason that Maddie liked to dance so much it was an escape from the house when she was 6.

They were already living through this divorce. Listen to Christi and Kelly talk about it. Christi said they were all exhausted. She had one year old Clara with her, the places they stayed at were horrible. While Holly and Kelly had to leave other children for a month on the road.

I always felt weird about that. Bringing strange men (especially men who she cheated with) around her two young daughters always gave me weird feelings. Because we’ve all heard many horror stories about mothers bringing strange men around their young children, especially young daughters. I’m just glad nothing (that we know of at least) bad happened with that. Definitely not a wise choice on Melissa’s part but we’ve seen firsthand how Melissa is willing to do anything for personal gain no matter if her children end up hurt or exploited from it.

Why say about a bra to Kenzie: probably because she would forget, when all the girls but Brooke (also Payton in S2)were flat chested until S3 (that’s a guess, I’m more going on their height as it’s not something I’m gonna look up): So bought more than one of them their 1st bra: we only see Christi in season 2: before she decorated Chloe’s bra to a top for in for the thrill, She technically didn’t had to buy them as they were being paid for via the show (I saw on one video the moms on the show didn’t have to pay for dance whilst on the show), so yh via the show, Look at the tops Maddie and Chloe had for black swan they’re highly decorated bras but if you watch them whilst walking back to the dressing room it’s not a sports bra e.g studio wear, they were bras, I can’t remember all costumes from S1, So this could probably have been her first too group Paige & Nia but says it too Kenzie

Ones ordered that are as costumes e.g black swans, sassy dolls and so on: they’re covered best they can at the back but are bras: I mentioned Black swans to Sassy dolls: it’s clear the tops are bras but S2 start obviously a costume definitely not an Abby like she claims she did for 3 years and even though the moms were awesome: they were more sewing stuff together, did harder but could never do the Sassy dolls costume so it clear that it’s a bra: just covered up because it was a bought one like they should always be,
I can’t remember the season 3 costumes BUT I love country cuties which is S3 (I remember solos more in S3): which Maddie says in her books the moms where on handed bras and shorts and told too make a cowboy outfit: when else were they in cowboy costumes: So that’s Asia too: She doesn’t have to hand it hand to hand but she did through mothers to decorate.

I’m only saying this, making it obvious that it’s not her only time getting gross, I’m glad only one time in FANtastic that the girls could see it as a costume: I don’t get the FANtastic dance costumes and how they have so much hate, don’t get me wrong it’s too much: but born too dance is a nude leotard with rhinestones or completely nude bottoms and too in nip and tuck: they at least had shiny bottoms in FANtastic: I think the audience again took it too far because of the moves and the age:
Even though they did this in later seasons when it was all fine and if they had chose too leave school as some could or could come summer in S7 and train as working professionals (who still do showcases and performances from when they start): for all but Kendall and I think Camyrn is the same age as her they could have been doing that already, Kalani could have been doing that for a job whilst training professionally at that time (with the info the dance is obvious)
I went off course: apart from one dance they knew and were fine with it, because it was they’re costumes: even if they felt uncomfortable at first: they knew and understood it was their costumes: in the end, coz I’ve forgot what I was commenting about

That is why Kurt was there, not liking his daughters away from home with Abby, who seemed to think she was their parent. Gianna is Abby’s minion and just as much of an abuser. If Maddie ever watches these episodes, it sees what happened. Her father, her friends where all driven away because of Abby.

Abby Lee is nice compared to my wretched teacher. Different times. 1980s was a brutal time to be dancing. We couldn’t eat enough to have enough energy to do anything. Beans and brown rice 🤮 to this day I can’t eat either. They would scream at how fat we were. I was 7. Looking back I was malnourished and never even the size of my peers, meanwhile an adult is telling me I’m fat. Passing around info on how to eat and not gain. EDs round the rooms. Abby is horrible but she’s not nearly as bad as so many out there.

It appears that the moms are jealous of melissa and her relationship with abbey, but as Kelly often says that brook used to be abbey favourite, but now it is maddie the favourite, I don't believe Christi and Kelly were complaining when for years brook was the favourite.
You as the commentator should also have explained that it was not only chloe that was tired, but all the girls were tired including the moms, it always appears to be feel sorry for chloe, poor chloe is tired, chloe does not get good choreography, chloe gets shouted at, all the above happens to all the girls, the producers want to make one girl the victim.
You never mention how christi is always body shaming abbey, how christi talks dirty about melissa on TV, knowing full well that maddie and Mackenzie will hear it, especially from kids at school, christi claims she was defending her child, but happily puts down another child so chloe looks like the victim. As a commentator tell the truth the whole truth and not parts of it.
