Great help Harry, thank you! We are currently waiting on planning, can anyone else on here share with me the cost of your foundations and who you all used, we are in south Cambs. Hoping mine don't cost as much as Harry's or I will need to scale back the house upgrades I was hoping for.

Interesting that you said your topographic surveyor is needed three times. We had our topographic survey done at the very, very beginning so we had the site information but haven't used them since. The groundsworker set out the slab himself so I'm not sure why you'd need to get the topographic surveyor back again.

Morning Harry, we had Tony set out our plot too, and the Danwood Site Manager signed it off yesterday, Woo hoo! Across the diagonal of the slab it is correct to 1mm. If you would like to see a completed slab ready for the house, ask Sandra for our contact details happy to show you around (not far from you). We are going for a modified 206E, so different style but same principles.

      Hi Carol,
Congratulations on your foundations being done, very exciting. 1mm correct is v impressive..did Shawn do it for you?? Don’t think Sandra is allowed to give out contact details, data protection and all that.

@@myselfbuildjourney1219 Good morning Harry, no Shawn didn't do them as he was too busy, we had Mark Bryant do the foundation and the slab. He sold us the land and knew the plot and Terence mentored him through this one as it was not the usual build. I have already emailed Sandra when I made the offer to say that it is fine to give our details if you (or any of their other clients) would like to see what we are doing.

@@Watchroller Hi Harry, the Danwood Site Manager was saying that he had already put up 2 x 206E. We have flipped the downstairs (the kitchen is now at the back overlooking the garden) and rearranged the upstairs. Very happy if you are also in East Anglia if you would like to see the slab too. The site was beautiful when the Danwood site manager was there on Wednesday, but resembles the Somme at the moment as the rainwater and other drains are going in!

@@Watchroller Hi Harry, we haven't got the complete costs yet as the structural engineer put 1.7m foundations (husband said he just saw £10 notes just going in to the ground) in two areas, and so there was more concrete than originally anticipated. We also originally had an all in price for the groundwork, two other slabs, all the drainage work that needs to be done and finally the patio and driveways when the house is completed. It is worth asking Mark, re your build, he is based in Sudbury but is worth the question and I know he is interested in more Danwood work. On amendments to the plans apart from flipping the main ground floor, we raised the upstairs by 600cm, to make the edges of the rooms more useable, and opposite to you made all the bedrooms en suite with walk in wardrobes. Our children now have families so that makes it easier when they come to stay. The storage room upstairs is now a laundry room as the plant room is too full. Only bedroom 1, the downstairs bathroom and the study have not been changed!

Hi Harry - if you're interested we have our build day set for December 13th in Lawford, Manningtree (which I think you're near) and you're more than welcome to pop down if you wish. We are having the same house design as you with some modifications to the standard. Thanks Dave
