I love the clash of control between the Doctor and Clara in Series 8. I love the evolved bond they shared as they wrecked havoc in Series 9. I love this band of oddballs out-weirding each other in Series 10. The Capaldi years absolutely rocks!

Honestly one of my favourite tardis teams in the whole show. I'm still bummed that they got so little time together, but it's a testament to how good they were that the doctor falls effected me as much as it did.

Say what you want about the most recent few series having their issues, I still love that the companions are- even if at times a little boring- just NORMAL people again.
I feel like daft is unfair to Bill's character. She reminds me of the smartest kids in class growing up. They asked questions about every little and random thing, despite being the first to grasp the content or ones to get 100s on every assignment. It was just that they had genuine curiosity and wanted to absorb knowledge. They ENJOYED learning new things no matter what the subject matter or how off topic. I loved that in people and loved it in people. She was easily one of my favorite companions just for bringing back the professor student relationship, but going further and enhancing it. Asking the questions you'd expect complete strangers to the show to or meticulous fans or you don't even know who because they're so random. Bugging the Doctor and intriguing him all the while. I dislike that we didn't get another series of that and that, that personality honestly just faded into the background. I wanted more of the trailer interactions where she asked about Dalek and wanted a good answer even when it meant risking their lives (especially because that's how it goes; I've seen those kids get in trouble for asking too many questions or at the inappropriate time because they just desperately want to know). I think the problem is our society really discourages this personality trait (which I hate). I mean we've literally turned kids asking constant questions just trying to understand reality into a funny joke about annoyance. As we grow we're essentially taught to accept things as they are (there are numerous social theories/arguments about school systems existing to train kids to follow orders and do as their told whether than think (in our society we generally punish questioning established rules/social norms whether physicallly or by shaming)). The entire concept of capitalism goes against it, because you "waste" time being productive trying to understand every part of the process instead of just doing yours. This is why I think the Doctor would enjoy having Bill as a student so much and why she works as a companion so well. She genuinely wants to learn everything and has to question everything, so who better to be matched with the university professor that's 2000+ with a magic box that can go anywhere in all of space and time?

Or maybe he didn't and gave up from the start. Either way I never felt anything from any of the cast all up through series 12 (which is why it felt so pathetically in character when none of the companions bothered to stop 13 from dying or committing a massive tragedy on her people (aside from Yaz who stopped after one "No") or that 13 kept flip flopping between sentiments in that one episode).

They finally got Capaldis doctor settled and going strong and then he retires. I feel he's a much better actor than the role written for him at beginning.
i always thought 1:00 was so freaking epic. like the fact they bring up Susan (The Doctors Granddaughter) earlier in the beginning of The Pilot and 12 having a whole collection of every sonic to him actually using a classic 5th Doctor’s sonic screwdriver is just so damn epic. 12 was truly the face of The Doctor
