I thought they were awful. The doctor in the earlier years was sensitive and kind and cared about people and their feelings, slowly, through Matt Smith and into capaldi they gave that up in favor of cheap jokes like the cards and jumping out of a bachelor party cake.
I like to start insulting things that don't works as id like them to, like when a computer refuses to connect to the internet saying "cannot connect to the internet" and I'm just sitting there like "fuck you of course ye can, ye're just being a little electronical shithead and I will smash you through the window if you don't comply"

The Council Of Losers Ghost Monument was kinda okay (don’t know if wrote that one though), it takes you away hd a REALLY good idea at the end that was underused, and can you hear me was the first episode I saw that I really liked... until the Doctor Ruined it with her completely insensitive line at the end (yes the Doctor is socially awkward, but that has NEVER stopped them from saying the right words to help a friend in need before). So what’s that 3 out of 20 (assuming; idk how many episodes there are between series 11 and 12) good stories? 5:50 I did this once in a cinema while watching a movie. It was a quiet moment in the movie and I took a bite out of a nacho, it was really loud and a few people looked at me I tried slowly eating it but it kept on making noise.
That is simply not true. But go off, I guess. Most Doctors just don’t care about how they are perceived and some feign social awkwardness like the 4th, but only recently has the Doctor become a genuinely socially awkward character.

I almost hated Peter Capaldi in Season 8 but he won me over in Season 9. He let himself relax, show warmth and have fun instead of his cold, overly serious and borderline sociopathic performance in Season 8. The Doctor's a corny guy and has been ever since Tom Baker's era at least, and we could probably trace his corniness back as far as William Hartnell's era. Even the darker Doctors could still make him a fun character but Capaldi didn't find his footing anywhere near as quickly as most of the others. By the end of Season 9, he was still one of my least favourite Doctors but he had managed to convince me that he was a legitimate incarnation, even though he had to go "the long way 'round". I'd argue that Capaldi should have either swapped places with John Hurt or used his Season 8 Doctor to show that he was dangerously close to becoming Valeyard until Clara and Missy snapped him out of his sociopathic stage. Unfortunately, Season 8 never even referenced the Valeyard, even though Michael Jayston's still alive and would probably have returned if he was asked.

I think the doctor is one of those people who plays dumb because it's not only often the smartest option,but also the most interesting. He's so smart he plays dumb.
I hated that in Season 8 because it made the Doctor seem sociopathic. Matt Smith didn't really understand feelings either but he came across as somebody who was on the autism spectrum instead of somebody who outright didn't care. Peter Capaldi was much better when he let himself relax and show empathy and warmth in Season 9.

It’s weird when people say it breaks cannon because 1: It’s dr who cannon which has never been the strictest and 2 going from young to old then young is fine but man to woman I somehow impossible?? Puzzles me
I’ve grown up with classic Who and NuWho since my dad grew up with classic and absolutely loved it. He tried NuWho and acted enthused for my sake but as I got older revealed he never actually liked it. My dad can be an elitist with his interests which can kinda suck but when it comes to continuity it means he’s very anal. Classic Who for the most part kept up with its own canon. The audio dramas were kind of in its own universe and not the shows canon, and I’m unsure of the novels. When NuWho came around and when my dad finally let on he didn’t like it, he mentioned some aspects on why. One of the reasons being that technically the Tardis shouldn’t even work if Galifrey was destroyed. NuWho canon gives you two ways to accept that. One being that it fuels up on those various rift points or later that Galoftey was never actually destroyed and was put into a pocket dimension/moved to the edge of the universe. I never thought it was a big deal. I think with Doctor who, you can get away with some retconing/straying from canon so long as it doesn’t break a certain level of ‘believability’. Once you go outside that box that’s when it irks people. Some have a smaller box while others have bigger, however for a show as established as Doctor Who I think what bugs people about him regenerating into a woman is that it’s way out of the box. It deviates too much out of established canon. Yeah the 4th doctor had made a joke about regeneration into a woman but it wasn’t too solid. The regeneration into an old man thing I’m pretty sure was explained in Classic Who as the Doctor never learned or was never able to control his regenerations at will so it was always a wild card. For 50 years at the time the Doctor had been male and to suddenly change that seemed too unbelievable and unnecessary In universe wise, and optics wise also unnecessary. The Doctor has had plenty of Awesome woman companions who are just as capable and strong. Even Sarah Jane got her own spin off series(Rest in peace). And again Romana was his female Tome lord companion who was essentially royalty and went along with him and was just as clever. She left to girl boss and make her own way in E-space after Gallifrey tried to call her back. So while I commend Jodi for her work, I think the cards were stacked against her in many ways in poor script writing and in being set up for a lot of pushback by the sheer nature of her being the Doctor.

Tom Baker when interveiwed about the next doctor. on regneration - "Well, you're assuming [I am] going to be a man." Sydney Newman, creator of Doctor Who, was going to cast a woman as the Seventh Doctor. Not to mention, classic Who DOESN'T have a consistent canon... The doctor was never intended to regenerate at all in the beginning. How do you think Doctor Who fans felt about the revelation that William Hartnell was not a human and was regenrating into someone else? They wluld have been saying the same things as your dad - but without it, we would never have had the Who your dad or you enjoyed. Who knows what groundwork Time Lord's gender changing could be laying for future generations of veiwers?
Me: Extremely doubtful of self, always go for more pockets, and loud... I might fit in as a kinda lower tier time traveler in Doctor Who's show like a way less cool Captain Jack Harkness. Instead of literally flirting with everything, I'd be like a cartoon character with stuff like a bowling ball and dog in my cargo pants.

They knew they were going to tick off people by casting a female Doctor, even though it's perfectly within the bounds of reason for their background, but they needed to make her just as compelling and consistent as the previous Doctors. That will be horrible if they also make him gay and lesbian, then again since he regenerated into a female, I expect nothing less than that now, then again that’s modern feminism, it’s not about equality, it’s about females being superior to males. Don’t get me wrong, I’d like a female lead role in something related to Doctor Who. But I don’t want the Doctor to be female. There’s so many females they could of explored, including River, to make a spin off of, even The Doctors Daughter, who I guess no longer matters because he is a she so I hope to god The Doctors Daughter never comes near this new one, last thing we need is such a emotional moment to be ruined by Modern feminism. Fizz I think you’re right, I think it was fully intended to be humorous and when they received backlash and complaints they decided to say it was to highlight social awkwardness. The thing is social awkwardness is called anxiety when it’s a full time feeling, social awkwardness is usually what you feel if a friend invited you to a party where you don’t know anyone and you find yourself stood off to one side and being quiet because you dare not say anything at the risk of embarrassing yourself, as an example, but whatever the situation you don’t announce the reason for being so quiet as being socially awkward to everyone. But that scenario isn’t comparable with the Doctors situation, I don’t know anyone who exhibits social awkwardness or suffers with anxiety who announces it in the moment or would let a friend down in their time of need, Graham is a character who has lost the love of his life and feels the Doctor has helped distract him with their adventures and respects the doctor enough to be able to come to her to announce his fear, so I feel to play off the doctor as either just being humorous or to highlight a mental state over a fear of cancer is in incredibly poor taste
Ok Jodie has the worst writting in terms of episodes, but her jokes are on the spot and I genuinely laugh at that. But her whole run cannot be saved by the occasional zinger 😂😂

I almost hated Peter Capaldi in Season 8 but he won me over in Season 9. He let himself relax, show warmth and have fun instead of his cold, overly serious and borderline sociopathic performance in Season 8. The Doctor's a corny guy and has been ever since Tom Baker's era at least, and we could probably trace his corniness back as far as William Hartnell's era. Even the darker Doctors could still make him a fun character but Capaldi didn't find his footing anywhere near as quickly as most of the others. By the end of Season 9, he was still one of my least favourite Doctors but he had managed to convince me that he was a legitimate incarnation, even though he had to go "the long way 'round". I'd argue that Capaldi should have either swapped places with John Hurt or used his Season 8 Doctor to show that he was dangerously close to becoming Valeyard until Clara and Missy snapped him out of his sociopathic stage. Unfortunately, Season 8 never even referenced the Valeyard, even though Michael Jayston's still alive and would probably have returned if he was asked.

I hated that in Season 8 because it made the Doctor seem sociopathic. Matt Smith didn't really understand feelings either but he came across as somebody who was on the autism spectrum instead of somebody who outright didn't care. Peter Capaldi was much better when he let himself relax and show empathy and warmth in Season 9.

Not really, most of the scenes in this video are her really being socially awkward, which is not a trait of The Doctor at all. The same thing happened with Eleven and Twelve a bit, but it went off the scale with Thirteen.

It’s weird when people say it breaks cannon because 1: It’s dr who cannon which has never been the strictest and 2 going from young to old then young is fine but man to woman I somehow impossible?? Puzzles me
I’ve grown up with classic Who and NuWho since my dad grew up with classic and absolutely loved it. He tried NuWho and acted enthused for my sake but as I got older revealed he never actually liked it. My dad can be an elitist with his interests which can kinda suck but when it comes to continuity it means he’s very anal. Classic Who for the most part kept up with its own canon. The audio dramas were kind of in its own universe and not the shows canon, and I’m unsure of the novels. When NuWho came around and when my dad finally let on he didn’t like it, he mentioned some aspects on why. One of the reasons being that technically the Tardis shouldn’t even work if Galifrey was destroyed. NuWho canon gives you two ways to accept that. One being that it fuels up on those various rift points or later that Galoftey was never actually destroyed and was put into a pocket dimension/moved to the edge of the universe. I never thought it was a big deal. I think with Doctor who, you can get away with some retconing/straying from canon so long as it doesn’t break a certain level of ‘believability’. Once you go outside that box that’s when it irks people. Some have a smaller box while others have bigger, however for a show as established as Doctor Who I think what bugs people about him regenerating into a woman is that it’s way out of the box. It deviates too much out of established canon. Yeah the 4th doctor had made a joke about regeneration into a woman but it wasn’t too solid. The regeneration into an old man thing I’m pretty sure was explained in Classic Who as the Doctor never learned or was never able to control his regenerations at will so it was always a wild card. For 50 years at the time the Doctor had been male and to suddenly change that seemed too unbelievable and unnecessary In universe wise, and optics wise also unnecessary. The Doctor has had plenty of Awesome woman companions who are just as capable and strong. Even Sarah Jane got her own spin off series(Rest in peace). And again Romana was his female Tome lord companion who was essentially royalty and went along with him and was just as clever. She left to girl boss and make her own way in E-space after Gallifrey tried to call her back. So while I commend Jodi for her work, I think the cards were stacked against her in many ways in poor script writing and in being set up for a lot of pushback by the sheer nature of her being the Doctor.

Not to mention, classic Who DOESN'T have a consistent canon... The doctor was never intended to regenerate at all in the beginning. How do you think Doctor Who fans felt about the revelation that William Hartnell was not a human and was regenrating into someone else? They wluld have been saying the same things as your dad - but without it, we would never have had the Who your dad or you enjoyed.
Who knows what groundwork Time Lord's gender changing could be laying for future generations of veiwers?

They knew they were going to tick off people by casting a female Doctor, even though it's perfectly within the bounds of reason for their background, but they needed to make her just as compelling and consistent as the previous Doctors. And they utterly failed to do that with Thirteen, imo.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d like a female lead role in something related to Doctor Who. But I don’t want the Doctor to be female. There’s so many females they could of explored, including River, to make a spin off of, even The Doctors Daughter, who I guess no longer matters because he is a she so I hope to god The Doctors Daughter never comes near this new one, last thing we need is such a emotional moment to be ruined by Modern feminism.
All and all, Doctor Who was always so cool and amazing because it was a last bastion of hope and safety from Modern Feminism, it was the only show that was ignoring all the hate given by SJW feminists who want gender inequality, which made Doctor Who the longest lasting show. It’s sad to see it finally fall to Feminism. Very sad.

Fizz I think you’re right, I think it was fully intended to be humorous and when they received backlash and complaints they decided to say it was to highlight social awkwardness. The thing is social awkwardness is called anxiety when it’s a full time feeling, social awkwardness is usually what you feel if a friend invited you to a party where you don’t know anyone and you find yourself stood off to one side and being quiet because you dare not say anything at the risk of embarrassing yourself, as an example, but whatever the situation you don’t announce the reason for being so quiet as being socially awkward to everyone. But that scenario isn’t comparable with the Doctors situation, I don’t know anyone who exhibits social awkwardness or suffers with anxiety who announces it in the moment or would let a friend down in their time of need, Graham is a character who has lost the love of his life and feels the Doctor has helped distract him with their adventures and respects the doctor enough to be able to come to her to announce his fear, so I feel to play off the doctor as either just being humorous or to highlight a mental state over a fear of cancer is in incredibly poor taste
