A average golfer here: honestly an easy club to hit. Try the 5 or 7 woods- they may just end up in your bag! Remember, the 3 wood is basically for perfect uphill lies or the tees
I have a full set of Steelhead Plus #1, #3, #5, and #7 fairway woods and they're all very versatile - but unforgiving as well. The #7 is particularly awesome.
It has such an amazingly sweet click at impact. I almost don't care where the ball ends up! LOL But the results are usually better than I probably deserve.
TGIF!!! Ahhh love the sound of those Callaway Stelhead Plus. I still have the 7 wood of this. I will never get rid of that club..........Unless in my WILL!!!
Amazing club - nice review. I still have and still hit the extremely rare Steelhead Plus 2 wood with steel shaft. Love the sound at impact, the feel and weight. Believe it or not, it has no problem picking the ball clean off the fairway but unable to do so in rough obviously. For that, I carry an old King Cobra SZ 4 wood (another awesome wood in my opinion). The only thing with the steelhead plus is I tend to pull it when I force my swing but that's on me, not the club of course. The only other older wood that is able to toss the steelhad plus and Cobra out of my bag is my old Mizuno MX 700 3 wood. To this day, nothing forgives more in terms of MOI for a fairway wood
I’ve only had one type of 3 wood in my bag my entire life. And this is it.
Unbelievable club in the right hands. A real handful for the average golfer.

Friend of mine just handed me the Callaway 3W steelhead plus for nothing (head cover too). That's a friend for life! Absolutely eats yards up for fun.
I have the whole set of these Callaway clubs and I love them. The irons and drivers are great.

Steelhead 3, Warbird 5, both in the bag for an old senior. Graphite for both.

Yes a wonderful club, Callaway had a plethora of choices too (i.e.) many loft variables.

Upgraded with modern shafts... still deadly..currently running a 4 & 5 wood with Aldila vs proto by you 80 X
Love my steelhead plus. Great club.
Can.t go wrong with the old big berthas. From the warbirds on they are fantastic clubs, especially the fairway woods.
Annika hit this during first ever woman participating in PGA tour event. Iconic.
Callaway accidentaly sent an extra driver and 3 wood in there shipment at our course and the pro sold me both for $250 for graphite.
Very underrated club. I found a 4wood and it’s very hard to slice with that club. Very forgiving.
Bingo! Me too! Found a steelhead 4 wood last year and have kept it in my bag ever since. I love it!
You can’t go wrong with the Steelheads and the Warbirds. Can’t get my warbird 3 out of my bag.
