Nessun Dorma means No one sleeps. A prince is waiting for morning when he will compete to win the hand of the beautiful but cold Princess Turandot (Turr-on-doe). He must answer her three questions correctly or lose his head. He is not worried, he knows he will be victorious (vincero!) He has kept his name a secret (his reputation is not that good!). The Princess has sent her servants all over town, asking questions, trying to discover who he is. So the title of the opera, Nessun Dorma, means "no one sleeps".

Interesting you should say he's not breathing.
Actually, in a sense, you are absolutely correct.
Opera singers use their diaphragms to support the sound. The diaphragm is a group of involuntary muscles.
So if I think "I'm breathing", the diaphragm isn't. So he has to just let the diaphragm do it's thing - "It breathes" - (obviously, after years of training it to do so. 😄).
You are also the only "reactor" I've seen on RUclips who actually pronounced his name correctly. It's Lu-chAh-no. (The i after the c only tells you to pronounce it CH instead of K).
