There will never be another Luciano. He performed this at the opening ceremony of the Winter Olympics in 2006 in Italy. It was his last public performance. He died in 2007, at the age of 71, of pancreatic cancer. RIP Luciano. You will always be the greatest.

Every single time I watch Luciano in this clip... chills. I absolutely love the follow through... he finishes the final (fantastic!) note... and he's still "acting" the part, until the music stops. Amazing!

Ogni volta che sento il nostro grande Luciano Pavarotti, per la stessa clip che tendenzialmente inserite nelle vostre reaction, mi emoziono sempre, come se fosse la prima volta.......ma è lo stesso, pur avendola ascoltata qualche centinaio di volte.
La voce, il suo canto, il coro e anche il testo è memorabile.
L'italia è questa, storia, tradizione, arte e spettacolo.....peccato per la politica....

Some adored Placido Domingo, others praise Caruso, but Pavarotti was the most brilliant tenor who ever lived. Nobody else has his resonance.

He was supposed to sing this at the Grammy's and got sick. Aretha Franklin filled in and her version of this is amazing.
He is the Daddy, All from the throat mouth doesn`t move on the long notes.

Favorite version of this song is Sarah Brightman. Ending is so satisfying (by SB). (Great range). Also great version of Phantom of the Opera (She was the original Christine).

음악도 편식은 좋지 않다고 평소에 생각하지만,
자신의 취향이 맞는 곡은 아무래도 정겹게 다가가게 되니까요 ㅎ
아무튼 엠마의 방송에는 다양한 음악들을 소개해 주는 것이 좋습니다.

The song talks about the changes in life, using the period of March as a metaphor, which represents the end of summer and the rainy season in Brazil.
My favourite opera singer is "Fritz Wunderlich", who died much to soon and much too young at the age of 36, falling down the stairs: 1930 - 1966 *rip

One of the must beautiful pieces, imho. Luciano, "king of the high C" is a little bit older in this performance from his prime. That last big note was merely a B4, but it really took everything out of him.

My favourite opera singer is Giuseppe Di Stefano. His beautiful voice is unforgetable, like his duets with the absolute Diva: Maria Callas. I'd listen to his performaces in "E lucevan le stelle"", "Vesti la giubba" and "Mattinata".
