I remember Siriano's season and watching it with my then 8 year old son. He said "He is going to win this whole thing" after that candy wrapper dress. Then when he did win he said "He is going to be a big deal". My son still has a good eye for fashion!
It was obvious pretty quickly that Christian Siriano had major talent. It didn't hurt that he was cute, quirky, and funny too. There has never been another like him. His clothes are still knocking it out of the park. He is my favorite designer to this day.
Christian Siriano was head & shoulders above ALL Project Runway contestants and I'm not even into fashion. Even my perpetual Jeans & Tee-shirts self recognized his amazing talent!
I agree with Siriano being number 1 because his designs are spectacular and aside from having so many celebrities who wear his clothes, some of his designs can be bought by people who don't have thousands of dollars. Plus... he is one of the few who makes fabulous plus size dresses for celebrities, woman with colour, etc. He isnt afraid but applauds diversity!
Sofie nummer he has an entire shoe and accessory line at Payless. Cute and affordable and it’s nothing short of amazing. I loved that he was the one to dress Leslie Jones for the premiere of ghost busters. And she looked amazing. He is truly the most memorable winner
Oh I totally agree! Christian Siriano is so #1! I love his designs they r totally out of this world! The first time I started watching his designs on Project Runway I knew he was going to be very successful and that he was going to win. 😍😍😍😍
I’ve only watched a few seasons of this show, including the current one and I’m a straight male with zero interest in fashion but the things they are able to make in just a day or two, all the different types of people who are on the show and their backstories really makes the show a hit.
If you haven't done so, I highly recommend "Project Runway Junior." It's the same premise but with teenage designers. It was only on for two seasons which is a real shame - some of the outfits they created were just as good (and even better) than their adult counterparts. Last time I checked YT had some episodes. :)
@@TarotMage thanks I’ll give it a look. There’s also a show on Netflix, “making the cut”the host is Tan ( the fashion one from queer eye’s newer seasons? ). It’s good as well for the same reasons.
Unpopular opinion: My favorite winner is SEASON 1 Jay. If you look back at this winning collection (which is over 10 years btw) you will see that ,even by today standards, it is one of the most creative, fun, beautifully crafted collections the show has ever shown. The bold use of colors, the wild prints, the playfulness and the “I don’t care” attitude really set him apart from winners. Too bad he did not accept any of the show’s prices. Please go watch his collection!!!
You know why Jay is the best? Because nobody on that show had a clue what was going on. Every season since season one has had someone to follow. It's kind of like cheating.
I only watched one season of project runway and I was immediately impressed by Siriano. He is so talented and I’m happy to see he still has success in his career
Doesn't matter because he surpassed all the winners except Siriano. So happy for him. Goes to show no matter what people say, stay true to your vision.
Love Santino! He designed that jumpsuit for that bitchy lady, and jumpsuits came back in style...I loved his fashion week collection.." where's Andre?"
Chris March was always so much fun, he brought so much joy to his work. He had his own show for a while spotlighting the costume designs he did. Unfortunately he died very young.
I didn't know he died! He was one of my favorite designers they've ever had. He was such a ball of joy and his designs were always out of the box without being gaudy or ridiculous.
Christian by far is the best winner, and Michael Costello is the most succesfull designer on Project Runway (even though he didn't win Season 8/AS1, take that Gretchen Jones)

@@chercher304 I agree. I am plus sized and I thought Ashley's designs were juvenile and badly constructed. I saw her actual clothes in JCPenney. One of the worst places to feature plus size clothing due to quality issues. JCP is okay with their store brands for sweaters and pajamas. It is hit or miss for clothing national brands like Levis. Their fashions are outdated and poorly constructed. JCP is great for baby and children's clothes and household products.
Agree! I think Ashley only won because she was the first to use plus size models and that was an unfair advantage. The judges wanted good PR that they supported plus size fashion
Please, please, pleez do a Christian Siriano Top 10 designs, love him! And looove how openly and enthusiastically embraces women of color models and celebrities!

I know this is a list of winners but it would've been nice to list Mondo Guerra, Michael Costello, and Rami Kashou as honorable mentions/non-winners who have also been successful.
However, Christian Siriano today will return to Project Runway for the 17th season as the mentor alongside Karlie Kloss as the host when it premieres on Bravo on March 14.
I hope you will do one on other busy designers, the ones who are out there designing their hearts out, and didn't 'win' on the show. I can think of many interesting and beloved designers doing exciting things in fashion, Nick Verreos, Austin Scarlett, Malan Breton, Korto, Uli, Rami, Fade, Michael Costello, there are so many, and what about the Season 7 international designers like Biddell, Christian Exie, Cynthia Hayashi, Django Steenbakker, there are many exciting, incredible designers that haven't been covered in depth or over and over by the show yet lead dynamic fashion careers. Nicolaus D'Aurizio, for example, from New York/New Jersey area, has created his own design house Nicolena in Haiti. Very cool things happening over there. This was a well-made video, would just love to see more about the other designers we don't get to hear much about. Thank you.

You do NOT say "10 year anniversary" - it's "10th anniversary" as all anniversaries by definition are measured in years. Root word "ann" means year.
Not only is Siriano extremely extremely extremely talented he flipped his fashion house to make masks for hospitals during this crisis. ♥️

Yes!!! Christian Siriano was fierce! I love him.
Unpopular opinion, and I love Seth Aaron, but Korto was robbed on All Stars season 3
@Joseph Manning RIGHT, like remember that special they had with 8 people who were runner ups and they gave Daniel the win, I honestly didn't like his collection at all, it just didn't seem polished to me
She was not robbed at all!
This is what I wanted to say !
@@deathbeforedecaf7755 hence why I said unpopular opinion lol
djanime317 I couldn’t agree more and furthermore I felt like she was also felt like her or Kenley should’ve won (even though I didn’t like her attitude towards Tim) Kenley’s collection spoke to me the most
Where is Dimitry????!!! He's the best!!!!
Christian Siriano so talented and charismatic. :) fierce!
I was going to be angry if Leanne wasn’t on the list. Missed Jay though.
shpei88 Me too! The look that made me team Leanne was the Saturn unconventional challenge, the dress with the the hips that she made and I was blown away by that look!! It was the best looking out of everybody’s on that challenge.
What happened to Jay from Season 1?
I heard that he was very I'll and in the hospital a while back
I saw him on Real Housewives of New York where he made Sonja Morgan a beautiful cabaret dress.
Christian is BIG in fashion design. My favorite
