If OM Systems just rebrand the EM-10 mk iv to OM-10 with minor upgrades like phase detection and give Taylor Swift the camera before release date, it could go viral.

Leave Taylor out of OM. It has nothing to do with Photography and Video. I want straight forward information and sales from cameras companies. Not paying for idols to push cameras. Once they get these people to push sales, the cameras stop getting fixes, updates, new upgraded models.
Very good comments. I think the same, there is a lack of an entry camera in the OM System, a model that is attractive to young people, because we run the risk of only older and experienced people being in the system. For a system to have continuity over time, it is necessary to incorporate very young people, who will be potential consumers of the brand's more advanced products.
I found a new old stock E-M5iii and scooped it up about a year ago because I liked the way it looked and felt and wanted a camera that still said “OLYMPUS” and not OM System.

She is also a fan of the in built art filters- thanks for raising the profile of the system 👏 The “Vintage Art Filter 1” is apparently the one that Swift uses on all her photos, which gives them that hipster cool tone.
It's double the price of E-M10 mark IV, not worth the overprice, while doesn't have view finder (deal breaker with some), but yeah, it's smaller and lighter.
Thanks to Rob Trek, I bought the OMD EM10 mkII four years ago, a model that was promoted back in 2016, and I love that little camera. Although I've had the OM1 for a year and a half, I still enjoy taking photos with that "old" camera, and it's almost always my first pick when I go out to shoot, unless it's birds in flight, though I've also taken a series of great photos with it. It's a great little camera that contains everything you need for superb photography and very comfortable shooting and carry around.
I still bring my EM10 MKii wherever I go out to document life. I just hope the OM System can bring a fresh, new iteration. Since many are gearing towards SOOC jpeg shooting, perhaps the R&D can further enhance its capabilities and able to install presets into the camera for quick workflow. That'd be so cool!
Yah, make a set of vintage film simulations, one for each decaude of the last 50+ years and call them eras, and whichever one is Taylor Swift's favorite, call it SWIFT and get her to effing promote it. OM Systems is missing out on a golden opportunity.... how they're just sitting on this is absolutely mental.

I bought an EM10 IV last month after watching your review - nice size for an EDC camera. Wish more camera companies will launch new compact mirrorless cameras for EDC purposes.
Absolutely right. Coincidentally Robin Wong in his latest live discussion was saying the same thing - influencer engagement/endorsement is the way forward, traditional advertising is ineffective and OM systems need to buck up their ideas fast. MFT is not dead contrary to some of the RUclips doomsayers (just like they said film was dead) and OM just need to listen to the consumers/enthusiasts and bring out a banger (Pen-F mk II) or similar to address the real need in the market at a good consumer price point. A no-brainer but of course they need investment in that but here’s hoping they have been paying attention to all the consumer noise about this! I live in hope.
Ah, Robin Wong, sadly I unsubscribed from his Chanel because I got fed up of him reminding me time and time again through his videos that I'm peasant who cannot afford to pay for membership of his Chanel and would miss out compared to those who could afford to pay. Don't get me wrong, I'm in full favour of RUclipsrs having privileges and a higher tier of content for subscibers they do a fantastic job and deserve way more than they get back for sharing their expertise and the effort that they put in. I just got fed up of being frequently reminded throughout his content of the difference it would make if only I could afford to become a member.
The E-M10 mk1 got me into M43, which I picked over the X100, and I'd still be using it if the shutter wasn't seized. It was a nice SMALL camera and wish OMDS would go back to the roots of M43 small-is-beautiful philosophy.
I will stick with my EM10 Mkii . It does everything I need and is light and flexible . I keep it in a little Billingham bag and goes everywhere with me ; backed up by my phone. Nice picks , Jimmy .
I'm just so sick of seeing only flagship MFT cameras being released... It's not just about the steep price. It's that cameras like this one are so much fun. I have the mk 2. I will upgrade to mk 4 if OM doesn't make a new one soon. And they really should.
The ‘10’ was always SO cute … t’was the one that caught my eye… pop up flash is a must for M4/3 .. a flash pic in M4/3 is as good as FF …. the shortcomings come in if you try to do without flash like FF people can
It feels good to have celebrites using the Olympus consumer cameras. The cameras would be the same, as good as they are, but all those Olympus haters (that says OM System is dead) will have less impact. I really hope OM System will make celebrity versions of some cameras. Like in gold colour and metal up and bottom, expensive versions, but still the same camera kind of. I like that form comes in OM-10, all PEN versions (F2, P, L, M) and maybe also in future OM-5ii. To win visibility is essential today, and especially for OM System. What if OM System make her involved in the new specs, asking her for advice on one function se wants extra, or just advice on design of the Celeb version. OM System would sell tons of cameras after that. Find another celeb who use the PEN-F to be involved in the Celeb PEN-F2 version. And so on.
And by the way. Make the OM-10 Celeb as non limited version, and like 50% more expensive due to exclusive looks, and now another thing... Tada... MAKE A limited edition Taylor version of that camera with her autograph etched into the body. And make the price tag even higher. Sell a gold paint colour line of lenses too.
Completely agree with your comments. I love the system and have been using it for the last 10 years. But if there isn't an entry camera to introduce new photographers to the brand, then I can see a very bleak future for Om Systems.
Looking for my first camera but i cant decide... 🥲🥲 I have a budget of a maximum of 300/400 euros.. i was looking beetwen the Olympus OM-D E-M, Olympus OM-D E-M10 Mark III,Fujifilm X-E1 or the Fujifilm X-M1.... Any help?? 😅
So happy to see TS content that isn’t dehumanizing her. But it’s really so interesting that of all the camera brands she could’ve chosen, she went with an Olympus. And an E-M10 which is on the lower end of Olympus’s lineup. It says a lot about that model and what it does right to keep the attention of someone with the lifestyle of Taylor Swift.
OM Systems completely screwed up their strategy. They should focus on making cameras that their die-hard supporters and users want, not suddenly going off on a tangent to target a very small market for wildlife and action photography. They lost these users, including myself, and hardly won over any of the sports and wildlife professionals. Ceasing production of their best selling camera range (E-PL) is akin to committing hari-kari. Sales of OM Systems cameras continue to decline and hardly even feature in the rankings in Japan (the E-PL series was the best selling camera in Japan before OM Systems takeover). What they need to do is also sign a licensing arrangement with Olympus to use the name. Who in the world wants to walk around with a camera with the word Systems prominently displayed? Anyway, enough of my ranting. I've moved on to another system, after 40 loyal years of using Olympus cameras. Let them RIP.
I think there is a place for both. It's good that they have some rugged weatherproof outdoor cameras for hiking and wildlife in that format like the OM-5 or OM1 but they definetly also need some more smaller and fun cameras again for a more affordable price and not only stuff for niche enthusiasts
Shot MFT for a decade and just sold all my gear to switch to APSC. MFT amazing for video but lost a lot of why I got into the system in the first place. The lenses and body are the same size or bigger than some APSC and even full frame setups. My em1 mkii body was larger and heavier than a Sony a7. With the lens of the same zoom rate it was still heavier. Albeit a bit smaller. But not by enough to make it worth the weight. I haven't noticed their low light performance improve much over the decade. I know sensor size limits a lot of that but their in camera processing of low exposure, to me, just looks bad compared to Fuji and Sony. I live in the pnw and low light is 3/4 of the year. Using legacy lenses just seems more advantageous on APSC now. The cost of MFT now is obsurd. If they target the middle range market they will thrive like you said. Ibis is amazing and I can take a sharp shot at 1second but my subject never stays still for long enough. The quirks and style of why I got my first Olympus seems like it's gone now. I dont need the most up to date camera, but nothing they are coming out with is inspiring me anymore. I hope they step it up and focus on what people want and why they get MFT in the first place so I can come back. 😅
