These look amazing, and another great video Des, appreciate your hard work as always mate. I just got my local bike shop to order these for me; the retail in Australia is pretty reasonable at $289.00 pricing them around 29.00 bucks than the standard openrun pro.
I have been using the Aftershokz Aeropex for over 2 years now and absolutely can't go on any bike/MTB ride without them!
Just randomly thought about maybe it's time for an upgrade and just seen that these OpenFits just came out today. Love the idea for this and your review was great! (Aside from the audio and video not synced) thanks for all the details and testing on the OpenFit giving us some insight on a new product. Very much appreciated bro!
the same
Thats CRAZY you paid for these. i bought them on amazon along with several others and these were the FIRST i wanted to get rid of, actually, i have the newer version as i am 8 months in the future from your comment.
The souncore (yea..i know..) V30i which are $40 have a battery life that lasts twice as long, and audio quality that is 400x better.
That audio quality on the openfit are garbage in comparison to a $40 pair of headphones.. thats a redflag.
My favorite feature was actually having volume right on the OpenRun, but hated the push into skull for play/pause. Even the Mini still had a band too large for resting head on anything such as bench press or couch. This seems like a partial upgrade but without volume buttons still keeps it at ‘almost but not quite’ for me
I agree with your comment on in external volume controls. I carry my phone in a waist pack or in the back of my hydration pack so really appreciate the external volume controls of the ORP.
on the video it shows (8m27s) you can customize press and hold for volume up and down control...
Personally, I don't ever use the volume buttons, even though it was there. My hand just naturally goes to my phone or watch to do that. So, I don't have any complaints with that.
I ordered some to try. I also have Beats Powerbeats Pro, which also clip on and have volume buttons on each ear. But although they aren’t noise-reducing, they still aren’t open ear design, making phone calls annoying as my own voice is too loud and sound is a bit muffled, since I use foam tips on them. So apart from multipoint connection that is convenient with the Apple-owned Beats devices, I hope these are a a good mix of function and compatibility.
Wish they had multipoint!
Purchased a pair of Open Fit for my wife who always complaining about her airpods falling out while she worked in warehouse getting material ready for her stagings. She absolutely loves these and when we speak on the phone I can't tell she's using earbuds if you can even call these that. Now I want a pair, waiting for them to go on sale.
Literally watching this with my openrun pros. I use them every day for significant portions of the day. They got me through a very rough bout of tinnitus and now I use them for everything else.
Now, everything shoks makes I'm extremely interested. These open ear buds seem interesting, especially since you say it's even more comfortable than the openrun. The openrun is so comfy I forget I'm wearing them most of the time!
I will have to give these a shot!
I suffer from tinnitus quite badly, I wonder if these Openfit will be better than openrun?
Did you end up getting them? Would be interested how they are for tinnitus?
I bet your pros died already as mine are after 7 months
I've been using the OpenFit's for about a week (ordered right away) and I generally like them a ton. You can adjust the sound in the App. The sound is clearer and yes as you note a 3D experience. I've been using Shokz for years - and mostly now the Mini's as I have small head and small years (and am a petite female). The only issue with these is that they are a bit too big for me. I don't find them loud enough because the fit is not quite there for smaller head/ears. I use the bass boost profile - and it works good for many purposes (audio books, podcasts, music). I shifted my glasses a bit and one popped off. So they work with glasses (for me anyway) but you have to watch out if you have an itch or something to not knock it off. They are comfortable though - I hardly know they are on. They are a keeper but I would eagerly buy a smaller size should they make one. Love your reviews now for many years!

And how were you able to come to the number of being 400x better? How did you measure that?
thank you so much for this review i just woke up and was hoping to see one from a youtuber i trust
You’re very welcome!
Thanks for all the great info. Stay safe out there 👍🏼
Thank you so much for your review. I have been using Shokz products for a few years and love them. This new product seems to give me more options so I am giving them a go.
Enjoy!
Thanks for the review - excellent as always. I love the sound quality compared to their bone conduction options. Sadly, I am returning mine due to issues with controls while running. It takes a long press to control the volume. If your hands are sweaty, it still senses that you are still holding the button down, and will keep adjusting the volume until it is all of the way up (or all of the way down). I really wanted to like these, but they need tactile buttons to be usable for running.
Do they still have that annoying beep on pressing any button? 🙏
I'll be obliged for the info; no blogger/tester covers that issue for the latest models
I have to say these are Sensational. Fit, comfort, sound quality is stunning as well. As the update Firmware the Multipoint will be the only thing left for them to update!!!All Else is top notch good!! Great Review too!!
As soon as I saw these online I came to find this review. Knew it would give me the info I was looking for 😊
Glad to help!
The OpenRun Pro is amaaaaaaaaazing. I recently got mine and ran a 5k in POOOURRRRIING rain and the sound quality did not falter one bit.
MIne just died from too much sweat.
Once again, a fantastic review Dez!
Thanks for keeping us informed
You’re welcome and thanks!
just bought the openmove one. Honestly, can't believe the sound would be so clear! I've hated ALL kinds of ear/headphones for so long cause I have sensory issues. This seems to not be a problem for me.
I just saw this and thought I would've bought this if I saw this earlier, but, realized I like the band since I can let it rest on top of my head so it wouldnt get in the way when I'm laying down (which is a lot of the times)
Very helpful. The power button is starting to break on my shokz bone conduction headphones with lots of use.
Great review, thanks for sharing! I like the Sony Linkbuds as an alternative to Shokz, the sound quality I think is better and you get the benefit of open ear design with an earbud. Battery life not as good though. These new Shokz though look really good and I would be tempted to try them.
I’ve been loving my Mu6 Ring air conduction off ear headphones for a long time, super all day comfort, but some call handling problems and battery life. They replaced couple broken aftershokz and the comfort level is fantastic as is price. Now open fit may lure me back, Hope they add multipoint.
Got some today at Bestbuy. Had them for a few hours now. Absolutely love them so far. These are what the Bose open ear’s should have been. Great sound. Talking is also outstanding. I like these better than bone conducting because I don’t get the tickle at higher volumes. Great review. Thanks for info.
Sure thing and enjoy!
I really like them!
I was considering getting the Bose version but just found out that Bose no longer makes them when I went to compare the two models. I guess it’s the Shokz openfit for the win…lol!
@@DesFitprice 🤷🏾♀️
man this are SO MUCH better than the bone conduction - thx for the review!
Awesome review. I've been an AfterShokz customer for a long time, and I'm really looking forward to these.
Thanks and enjoy!
I like this! I tried them at the store and found the audio extremely good! And even better bonus I wouldn't have to worry too much about the wax build up on them
EXCELLET video! This gave me exactly what I was looking for.
Glad to help!
Didn’t know you needed to download an app. It fixed my problems. Ty!
Thanks for the breakdown. I have a pair of the old Aftershoks before the rebrand to openRun, they are still great, a bit uncomfortable near the end of long runs (with sunglasses and a cap pushing on the top of the ear), if they breakdown, given the openRun pro and OpenFit at the same price, I might consider the OpenFit after you said you could keep them on all day without a problem.
Thank you. A very informative review as I'm looking to purchase these.
Thanks and enjoy!
Nice review! Would love to see the new Oladance wearable stereo 2 vs Shockz OpenFit.
Exactly what I was looking for, thanks.
Very welcome
the openfit are the most comfortable, not in ear like my airpods 3. Sound quality up there with the 3's. The openrun are awesome also, sound quality not as good, but when I don't want anything on or around my ears i choose them, they also have volume control and are more social when i am with a group. I can have easier conversations while listening to my music at the same time. Overall, I like having the variety. If I had to just choose one ( which is almost impossible) I would choose the open fit for comfort and sound quality. I very impressed with the Shokz company.
Great, informative review - thank you!
Very welcome!
Great review as always. Keep it up!
Thanks!
I had Aftershokz (which is now Shokz) products and loved them. Then I found my new Love which is Oladance (Wearable Stereo). Highly recommended.
Excellent review! Thank you
Thanks!
I have to say... that call quality blew me away. These sound amazing for their size. Great review!
Great video! Only thing that's missing is chapters. Thank you for your work.
Originally called OpenDots and sold at a few airports like Miami international. I tried them in the store the sound very good and are very comfortable but I can see the design has been improved. They're just very expensive at 178.00 😮 I would need to wear them for a day to justify that expense. But the audio is much better than my Open Comms 😅 10:25
Just an FYI, I took a bad spill on my mountain bike yesterday and they stayed put! Absolutely loving the improved sound quality over the Trekz airs that I’ve been wearing for years.
Hope you're doing OK!
@@DesFit All good besides a bruised knee and some soreness!
Thank you for the awesome review!
👍
Okay you sold me. 👍🏻 time for an upgrade. Perfect time for Century Ride. Thanks.
Great review! Thank you
👍
I love everything about this headset and I'm going to return the OpenPro Mini for this but only thing I am bummed about is not having the multipoint pairing. Other than that, these are awesome!
I assume multipoint pairing is only needing to pair one of them to pair both; as opposed to having to pair them individually?
@@FormulaJuan3538it’s being able to connect to multiple devices without having to enter Bluetooth pairing each time. Like some people may sometimes use these with a phone but then later want to connect it to their smart watch. With multipoint it’s easier to switch between devices. Apparently there was an update recently so these now are capable of multipoint.
I finally found an open fit that I like. So comfortable I forget that I have them on. A few months ago I ordered the Soundcore by Anker AeroFit Pro Open-Ear Headphones. Great for YT videos and podcasts. I do listen to music with them, but not for long listening. For music I use Technics EAH-AZ80-K. Those are amazing.
I am loving the openrun mini. I wear them like all day
🙌
My Aeropex are acting a little squirrely lately... I'll try these out if the Aeropex ever pop their clogs. Great video. Subscribed.
So I had ordered a set of the Tozo open buds from Amazon and HATED them. Cheep, sound quality was awful and they wouldn't stay connected. Plus the right one had a rattle. So... off to my local Sam's Club I went (after carrying the returned Tozo pair to Kohl's) and they had a couple of displays featuring these and the OpenComm2 joints. I've had the OpenComm2s and didn't like them (plus the bone conducting tech isn't great). But these OpenFit ones were on display, like I said, and I was able to put them on and try them out. Bought them. Got home, paired them with my stuff, snagged the app from the Apple store, registered an account... then set myself a badass custom EQ. Now I freaking love these buds! They're EXACTLY what I was wanting. Great video, DesFit. 🤠
I have OpenRun Pro. The issue is the hardwire at the back. Also it actually hurts wearing it in longer durations especially with glasses.
Great info! Appreciate it.
Happy to help. Thanks!
Awesome review!!
Thanks!
I got them yesterday, and there is a half a second delay in the audio. I have a temporary fix for it, though. You have to go to Developer Options and disable HD Audio every single time you sync up. I have a Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Ruptured both eardrums during my time serving, i cant put anything in my ears, such as earbuds..My ears can sometimes bleed, ringing for mins on end or i lose all hearing for a few mins..These are absolutely great. They have helped me alot being able to listen to music without something stuck in my ear.
My biggest complaont ablut the open runs and aeropex was the flimsy wired neck portion breaking. Shokz replaced 5 for me no questions asned but i jusf lost faith.just ordered these as they seem to solve that problem
Brilliant review, thanks, are they comfortable when wearing glasses/sunglasses please?
Great review
Thanks!
Not on sale in the UK yet, seem a very similar proposition to the Oladance product that has been around for a while, will be interested in seeing a comparison to those.
The review I was waiting for!, I still rock the affordable OpenMove , but wanting to upgrade. Any thoughts about comparing these to Sony’s Open ear Linkbuds ?
Awesome video! I just picked up a pair of the open fits in Sam’s Club an hour ago. Love em so far. I’ve been using the open run ones for a couple years now, and I love them as well. The biggest downside to them (IMO) is that I find it extremely uncomfortable to use them while lying down as the rear band than connects each side actually protrudes off of the back of your head. I’ve tried adjusting the back up real high on my head and real low, but it simple doesn’t work. So these wont have that issue.
I als have been using the Bose quiet comfort earbuds the past few months as well. But recently they will not charge in their case for some reason. I believe maybe the tiny copper “fingers” inside the case have been bent somehow and are not making contact correctly. I will try to unbend them but it’s super annoying. They do RULE as far as omitting any outside noise (when in quiet mode), which is crucial when I go to my gym. But I think these open fits will be the perfect balance between those two other earbuds. Plus I like the fact that they hook over the ear and are unlikely to ever pop out and get lost. Oh, speaking of getting lost: about 4yrs ago I was using a pair of apple buds- the white, smooth plastic ones. Well one fell out while I was in my car and truly became one with the car somehow. I looked for it as did two other people but to no avail. I always thought that was such a poor design for the AirPods having very little grip to stay in your ears. Very surprising for such a huge company such as Apple to still use be using that same inferior design…
awesome review
Thanks!
I’ve been really happy with the openrun pro, but I wouldn’t mind getting back a little sound quality, and the openruns do make my ears a little tender after a while. Tempting!
I just bought one to try. Open runs were great till they broke. I got a pair of open moves for free as a gift and I agree with you on tenderness
You guys both forgot that shokz specializes in bone conduction that makes me and my wife nauseous after 30 min. Their audio quality sucks ass too and I'm an open earbud and headphone condesour😊. Oneodio will probably have better sound than these....... just seen the price 😂😂😂😂🗑️🚮🔥
These look very similar to oladance wearable studio… version 2 supports multipoint. Would love a comparison.
Thank you for the great review. Just ordered mine to try these out while I'm working out at my home gym. Now do these work and fit well if you wear glasses? I'm a little worried about the loop that goes over the ear. Thanks again!
Nice review, Des! How waterproof are they?
I wonder how these compare to the Oladance, which are currently my favorite for running outside. They are very similar and targeting similar demographics it seems.
I think it is a fantastic one for people who love sports!!!
These are amazing! The sound quality is a step up if you are used to the traditional Shokz. I unfortunately had to switch back to the Open Run pro. If you are a wrestler, you may find it a bit odd to wear the open fit, and in my case, they did slide off quite often. Otherwise, I am sure they are as Des says.
Hi Des, great review as usual mate 👍 I have a pair of these new Shokz OpenFit and after a very sweaty training session, I’m not sure how best to clean them. Would you have any recommendation? For example I’m used to wash my JBL Endurance Dive with direct water as these are IP67, but as the Shokz are IP54. I prefer to know the best way to clean them. Thanks in advance
I practice running and I sweat a lot. I like the Open Fit but I want to ask if they resist constant sweat. Thank you
I'm thinking of getting these cause on construction sites openrun pros are frowned upon for being 2 ears only.
One advantage of the openrun pros that you didn't meantion is that they bypass the eardrums and, therefore, can cause less harm to them.
Props for the GRITS track cameo. I love my OpenRuns - I love that it is also safe for my hearing. Wonder if the OpenFit are more prone to damaging hearing since it's essentially a speaker pointed at your ear.
No more or less than any other earbud or speaker I would think but the advantage with these could be not being completely isolated like an earbud.
I love my Bose Sport Open earbuds which I think are discontinued so nice to have an alternative available when the Bose dies.
If Shokz would've come out with these first, I would've bought them. But, I really like my OpenRun Pros.
Is it better than oladance? Thanks for the review!
Would you please review the Oladance Pro, it feels like they’re the best competitor to these
Would you recommend OpenFit for road cycling where being able to hear your surrounding is paramount (for cars, signal from your friends etc...) or would you recommend going back to OpenRun Pro?
Soundcore V30i. $40, MUCH better sound quality and 2x the battery life. Shokz are shenzhen TRASH
How is the wind noise with this type of headphone? I like the AirPods because they block wind noise.
I'm listening to your video with my open run pro. The battery only stings last twelve to fourteen plus hours on a single charge
Please do a OpenFit VS Oladance
Previous version wasn't as waterproof as claimed. Will you be doing a review on that?
Just in time, cause i need to replace my aftershokz bone conduction. Can you please tell me if they are good to wear with a bicycle full face helmet or a helmet with ear cover like the new Leatt enduro 3 in 1 or the fox dropframe helmet. Thanks a lot and nice video and very conclusive for me. Thanks
Whats the best EQ settings for listening to podcasts, movies etc...i know you can customize them with your own settings but not sure how to adjust them to make them suitable for podcast and movie's
Are these better than the Oledance open ear earbuds and the Openrock Pro?
I’ll stick with bone conduction - open fit didn’t work too well for me concerning sound, especially on the lower end. Bone conduction neither gives perfect sound (on the upper end), but surely good enough.
How do they compare to the Oladance? I have and like them and like the sound but then fall off to easy from my ears so cannot really run or workout with them. Just sitting.
Shockz Bone conduction did not work at all for me, could hardly hear anything etc.
Will try these, i prefer a bit open with tinnitus, usually wear airpods pro with transparancy but its also annoying to have something in my ear and starts to hurt fairly fast.
These looks quite good, easy to wear and secure, and nothing in the ear canal.
I started using these bone conducting headphones with their “Titanium” line (maybe the generation prior?). Those had a much larger conduction surface than the Aeropex (renamed OpenRun?) headphones I’m currently using. I found that the older headphones didn’t need to be turned up super loud in order to hear over wind noise, e.g. when pushing 40mph down a hill. But these Aeropex headphones I have to keep almost all the way up at full volume to overcome even light wind at a 17-20mph pace. Do these new OpenFit headphones suffer this same problem?
The open fit is much louder. Mine will be here soon so maybe I'll be able to give a firsthand account but it seems quite clear that these are louder.
Just ordered these. I do long walks and like to hear traffic around me when i'm near. My other Shokz aren't sitting well when i'm wearing a hoodie or raincoat with the strap on the back not being flexible. I hope this is the answer to my problem.
What are your thoughts on the controls of the open fit ?
Thanks for the great video - perfect timing as I need to replace my old ear buds. A lot of my running is next to roads unfortunately (including through a tunnel shared with traffic) so my main question is whether either design would cope with this? Or would the “allowing you to hear ambient noise” feature actually mean I couldn’t hear anything BUT the ambient traffic noise? My old earbuds coped ok with this…
i really love it❤,
What are these truly like for phone calls when next to a busy road and/or out in the wilderness with strong winds? As I enjoyed your test with wind and a lawnmower
Is it truly one size fits all? One of the reasons I am a fan on bone conduction technology is that it works equally well with ears of all shapes and sizes. I cannot wear iPods Pro or most other earbuds because they just won't stay in my ears.
Thanks for the video! Been looking forward to checking these out. May have missed it, but is the wind noise on road biking ok?
You’ll just have to bump up the volume by a notch or two if it’s really windy
@@DesFit Awesome thanks!
@@DesFit Do the Open Fits increase, decrease, or have no effect on wind noise while cycling? I'm wondering if they act as a mini-fairing and actually reduce wind noise? 🤔
Very good vid. As always I think they have very big con for me that they are not fits to swimming 🏊♂️ also the mic 🎤 is low quality
As always ❤from 🇮🇱
I wonder if you know very good ear buds that’s fits also for swimming (especially pool)
Do the oladance open ear headphones I have the gen.1 and they're amazing left shokz for them
How openfit compares to openrun pro in cycling? Is wind causing more noise with openfit?
Good morning , I have 2 of After Shocks products and one of the them is the open run pro. i bile ride with them everything works fine however if i make a call the wind and the sound on the other side is horrible. I can hear or the other person van hear me. Have you experience any issues with your due to the wind?
They released the upgrade for multipoint.
So do these just inside the ear opening angled towards your ear canal or do they go into the canal like a traditional ear bud?
I'll never go back to more traditional headphones after using the openrun pro bone conductors.
👍
how are the airfits different from those very old earphones (before the in ear earphones)?
