Update 🚨 Shokz added multipoint with a firmware update and it works well. I compared it to Oladance here if it helps: ruclips.net/video/M7APVD8IpZA/видео.html
Yes please! I had a pair of Oladance OWS, the adhesive for the screen got warm from body heat and the screen fell out and the screen got lost. Curious if the Shokz have the same issue or other issues
Thankyou for a completely unbiased review, I completely understand why companies sponsor RUclipsrs and that’s completely fine, but it’s nice to have an unbiased fair review to rely on, also great video and cinematography, really well put together review, ordered mine just now, you’ve gain a subscriber 🤙🏻
Thanks Al. I have a pair of SHOKZ OPENRUN. I don't like the connecting band. SHOKZ OPENFIT arriving today through Amazon. My plan is to limit controlling to 'answer phone' and device on/off. The big feature I like about SHOKZ products is maintaining situational awareness. Ear budds plug ears, a very unnatural & uncomfortable feeling.
When you increase the volume on this device, the bass becomes distorted, resembling the sound of a damaged speaker. To enjoy better music quality, you'll need to manually lower the bass using the app. I’ve just returned this product and got the Cleer Arc II Sport instead. I was just blown away by its sound quality. It’s got the best overall sound quality in the open-ear category and the bass it delivers is the finest you’ll get compared to other open-ears.
I also had that problem when I first paired up with my phones bluetooth. After troubleshooting i noticed It paired as two separate units, slightly off in phase/timing sounding like blown/damaged speakers. forgetting the device and repairing solved this problem as it seen them now as one unit. I was also going to take them back the next day I'm glad I didn't their great headphones for there design and purpose.
I bought the Shokz based on this review and have not been disappointed. The only thing I might add is that the sound leakage is definitely still there, at a similar level to the openruns (not openrun pros) that I own. He says it's lower, but it seems very similar to me.
Really good! A solid 5-6 hours of continuous use, definitely only charge once a day even on my most high-use days. And also with similar quick charging where you only need to put them in the case for like 10 min to get an hour or 2 of charge. Also they do a good job of saving battery when not active, without the connection issues of the Open Run.
I have both the Open Run Pro Mini and tbr Open Fit.... I like them both very much. You're right, the Open Fit should also have multipoint connection like the Open Run Pro. This would really make them amazing.
Totally agree! I noticed this right away because after every workout I normally just switch from my Garmin to my Iphone. I had to do repair every time. Kinda sucks but idk if they can add that via an update.
Thank you for the non-sponsored review. None of the sponsored videos mention the lack of multipoint connection, which is important for me being able to switch easily between two phones. I appreciate it.
good video. i found the issue with the case closing poorly can affect the charging, i now make sure the headphones are seated properly rather than just throwing them in the case. i wish the touch controls could turn off so i accidently did not hit them. even though there isn't multi point connections, i have them connected to spotify on my iphone, and can control it from my apple watch, which is nicer on my bike than pulling the phone out
Excellent review and valid points. I hate in-ear ear buds and over the ear headphones for any type of work out because I always have to adjust, they sweaty, fall out or I lose one. Frankly I don't like anything in my ear and inner ear gets irritated. That's why I love the OpenRun Pro. However, they aren't the sleekest for daily drivers. I'll have to give the OpenFit a try.
I’m literally wearing them right now and I had to make sure I had them on and the phone wasn’t just on and loud because my son is asleep next to me. They are so loud and comfortable it feels like I have nothing on and the phone is playing normally!
oh yesss. So funny that I have a video on these this sunday. 6 months later comparing them to the new Bose Ultra Open Earbuds. The Shokz added multipoint connection so ive been using them to get on calls on google meets and switch between my Mac and iPhone. Microphone works well too. Maybe this sunday video will help too.
bought the black openfit and yes they now have multiconnection you can have them connected to any bluetooth device but you have to choose which audio that you hear. its cool.
I did my first 10k today. I wore the jaydbird vista but I noticed alot of people wore this brand so I was curious. Idk how I would feel about it "hovering" over my ear.
My openrun pro headphones have broken as the power button has stopped working. I’ve ordered a pair of these new ones because they don’t have buttons. My experience is that it’s the mechanical parts that break with electronic devices. Thanks for the review.
I just had these go on uncontrollable (runaway) volume increase while I was running, and then uncontrollable decrease down to full mute after single activation of the other side. Yikes! It was in high humidity and sweating conditions but still, that was the nightmare scenario. Really needs an update on sensitivity. I also find they are more painful at the back of my ears after wearing for a few hours, where the openrun were fine. But that wouldn’t keep me from wearing them.
Thanks for the insight. I'm always sweating buckets on a bike or getting rained on, so that kind of issue rules these out for me. I have avoided touch-screen bike computers for the same reason. Android phones in a jersey back pocket are also an issue because they sometimes try to dial 911. Cheers
Connectivity and "Awareness of Surroundings" is important to me. These OR the Beats Powerbeats Pro???? While the beats is an "in ear" device, many reviewers say that without noise cancelling, you can be aware of surroundings. Being a division of Apple with the H1 chip, connectivity should be superior. What are your thoughts???? Great reviews, and I subscribed!
I have certain tones missing on my right ear so it's the bone conductors for me as recommended by an independent audiologist.i can hear all my music in perfect stereo without damaging my hearing further.
Thanks for the tip, I also have concerns over my hearing and that’s why I haven’t been using earphones for many years. Just to confirm, it’s the bone conductors such as shoks openrun series your audiologist recommends right?
5:20 (not waterproof) also, he doesn’t clearly communicate, whether or not, they continue to play music while he was underwater, he says that, as soon as he came out of the water, they were still playing music. No idea what that means. There you have it, ladies and gentlemen.
Hi, Your videos are very helpful. I have enjoyed the Aeropex Aftershokz model since 2019 but one side started having vibration sound. I contacted the company and since it was over two years they offered me a 20% discount on any product. I purchased the Open Run which I like but I don't actually find that the battery power is as good as the Aeropex. Being the start of winter here in Canada I wanted to wear them with a touque but it's awkward so I thought that the Open Air would be a better option. The main reason I bought the bone conduction in the first place was so that I could use them cycling and still hear around me. I wasn't sure from your videos if with the Open Air, I would still be able to hear sounds around me like cars coming up behind me whether I am walking or cycling? I'd appreciate your thoughts on whether or not the Open Air would meet these needs and if it would be worth returning the Open Run for the Open Air? Also, I have small ears and am wondering about the comfort of the Open Air since they seem to go into the ear a bit. Thanks Jennifer
Just subscribed, great videos :) I have had 4 ear infections the last year with airpods so i need something knew. My airpods max are too big for the gym. I dont run but for everyday gym use would the pro run mini be better for me or the open fit? I guess the question is reallym how deep into your ear do the open fit go or just rest outside? TIA
I really appreciate that Jordan. For everyday gym use I couldn't use the Openrun Pro. It would get frustrating listening to both the gym music and what im playing. Not a good experience IMO. The openfit are fairly decent. my new gym blasts the music and you can really drown the music. I had the volume at 70%. Hope this helps bro
Out of curiosity did you ever try to listen to a audiobook or anything with them? I use to daily drive the shokz aeroplex, ran them for 3 years tell they finally gave out and im looking for a new daily and regular earbuds are just painful
I listen to Podcasts, which should be similar. Sounds great! especially using "the treble" Sound mode on the app 👌. More detailed audio than my Openrun Pro
I just wish they had on-device volume control without sacrificing other features. Between play/pause, forward/backward track control, smart assistant, and volume up/down. Only 4 interactions is not enough.
I've seen people talk about these products after multiple months of use and how the battery doesn't last as long after like 6-7 months and how easily they broke. What was your long-term experience with these?
How was your situational awareness while jogging with these? I am looking at getting them for cycling. Need something that enables me to still hear my surroundings clearly.
@@Aesthetic_Alhaha love that you went swimming with them should of broke immediately maybe it takes time to get into the electronics because chlorine water like sea water will break things slowly 😂

Which now the left discharges twice the rate of the right. I did file a claim with Shokz and true to their warranty they replaced them. I do love these, they are super comfortable. I was so worried I would have ruined them just with that, but apparently they are a lot more water resistant than I expected.
