Yes, this is a sponsor for the video. But it's something I genuinely use and like - i'll always try to bring you something that's actually good and worth your time (and i'd rather put my own sponsors in like this than to turn on RUclips's annoying mid-roll ads!)
Great video. I think Soundcore imo are the safest choice in terms of the best bang for the buck (or pound) as a reliable, long lasting earbud.
Very good presentation as usual. All the best to you and your family and the channel. 🎉
That's very kind thank you! The same to you 👊🏼
Insane quality video as always man! I had no idea JBL had an open ear bud, I'll need to check them out
I appreciate it mate 🙌🏼
It was very helpful to pick my first open ear buds. Thank you!
thank you so much man. you're a life saver. I've been looking for one for work (Paramedic). I only learned of openfits recently so it was hard to figure out what to look for exactly.
Glad I could help!
I have Oladance 2 now and really been considering the 1More S50. For me, the most important feature is multipoint connection that works. Many have it, but I have heard some reviewers state that is didn't work so well with 1More S50s. Has anyone had both oladance and S50s using multipoint and had any issues with either?
Brilliant review. I really like the relaxed presentation style and the detailed content... Great upload!
Ah thank you very much! That’s great to hear 🙌🏼
Thanks for the excellent comparison.
Thanks a lot!
Thank you for taking time to create this video
Thank you for watching it!
These are definitely some of the best review videos 👌
Thanks a lot!
I appreciate your reply. ! Thank you ! I need just for short calls, emergency calls when the postman give me a call etc not for chating. Just when i ride my bike to answer for very short calls and to listen some music at a decent quality and low volume.
In that case I definitely think these will offer the better sound quality you'd like over the opencomm. Hopefully they'll be fine for those occasional calls too 👍🏼
thanks for the video u made my choice easy now cuz i was going to get the 1MORE i have the tozo open ear too so i wanted a other one
Yeah i was thinking about the 1more also
I just bought the JBL Soungear Sense and the difference from my Nothing Ear (stick) is night and day, thanks again for this review I couldn't be happier with the JBLs 👌👌👌
Good to know as I don't want to deal with losing the filter on normal earbuds and getting them ruined over their lifetime already have jlabs so that helps
How's the subbass
Hi, excelente video, une question, which is the best for watch tv, streamming? Thanks
Thank you! I would suggest 1More because of the low latency mode - that could be useful for TV
I'm researching open earbuds for my work as an EMT, and have watched several of your videos. Thanks for doing thorough reviews! I use earbuds for directions while driving and need to be able to hear my surroundings, wear reading/sunglasses, and make calls. I prefer the clip-on earbuds because of how I wear reading/sunglasses. Will you review the clip-on styles soon?
First of all, thank you for your service 🙏🏼 but also yes! I’ve just ordered the new Bose open earbuds, for instance. I’ll post some kind of review on them either way (even if they don’t make it into the planned video). I expect to review more too going forwards!
@@insidetechltd thank you! I look forward to seeing your thoughts.
The microphone on the Bose ultra open earbuds is sadly not good. I wouldn't use them to make calls
I was just googling these for the first time the other day. Good timing
Ah, excellent!
Great reviews and comparisons. I'm really torn between shokz or 1more. I particularly like their simple design and comfort.
Thank you!
Had the shoxz, not loud at all. Took them back. Soundpeat gofree2 are made for the house only. Aerofit open are good, but not that loud outside. Thee best is soundcore aerofit Pro, these are thee best, thumbs up👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾. Loud inside & outdoors. I kept these & returned the others for a refund. Don't let these videos full yall, they're not telling the truth. I have bought alot of these to test them myself, they all fall short on loudness outdoors, except Aerofit Pro.💪🏾😎💪🏾
Aerofit pro are terrible. EQ is useless. Very uncomfortable.
Jbl has very nice sound quality
I got my first pair of open ear earbuds yesterday and I am OBSESSED! They are sooooooo comfortable and they don't make my ears sweat or anything. Wish I found out about these sooner.
Which one's did you get!!???
🙌🏼
Thanks, It was beneficial
Glad to hear it!
I’m confused between which one to buy, between OWS 2, OWS Pro, and Shokz Openfit. Which one is better? I prefer sound quality and comfortable to wear all day without hurting my ears. Hope you reply this, thanks in advance
Well unfortunately one company is good for sound quality and the other is good for comfort. I would start with Shokz and try them because they are cheaper. If the sound quality is good enough for you, you're done. The comfort is by far better with Shokz. If not, you can then try Oladance
Thanks for the great review!
I'm currently trying to pick open earbuds for all day use + use at work (I need to hear alarms around me, so I rather should not go for in-ears or over ears there).
After a few reviews I still fear to pick the wrong piece, because I guess I have kinda small ears, in comparison to the (mostly male) people who review these..
And seeing this comparison the biggest ones would offer the best soundquality.
Any hints on the fit of these earbuds on smaller ears?
I was going for the Soundcore Aero fit pro before I've heard that they are not loud enough and not of such a good sound quality..
I think this design is actually quite flexible in terms of size - so all of them should still cater to smaller ears without issues. Unless you have particularly tiny ears (in which case specialist products may be needed, and I couldn't speak to those), then I think you'll be fine
@InsideTech How do the JVC HA-NP35T True Wireless Earphones stack up against others in this list?
Not great. Suffer from some of the issues other early entries to this space had, like a poor fit and bulky design. Mainly the sound quality doesn't stack up against these 5 though
@@insidetechltd Thanks, I ordered the Shokz since I've never tried open ear before and the Bose seemed a bit expensive for a first try at these. I have constant tinnitus in my ears and the apple airpods make the problem more noticeable because they block the ear canal, I used them for a while and I think they made my tinnitus worse, that and they constantly disconnect from my PC while I'm using them. I have Senheizer over the ear headphones which I used for years before getting airpods, but they're just too hot to go back to now. Hopefully open ear is a nice balance between sound and heat.
@insidetechltd Did you notice differences in audio speaker quality, when these headphones are connected to a PC (e.g. Teams)? I'm using the OpenFit since weeks and it "switches" from good audio quality (Bluetooth Stereo?) to bad "quality" if used as "Headset". I think other Headsets (e.g. Jabra's) are also using better audio profile, when used as Headset. Could you see this at the others of the headphones?
I think some earbuds have better bluetooth profiles for working with PCs. I'll be honest though, this wasn't a big part of my testing and I don't use Teams on PC. I'm not sure which is the best for that particular use case, sorry!
is it possible to deactivate the touch controls of the shokz? it's awful when walk with bonnet over the ears an every few secounds something hits the buttons
No, unfortunately it isn't. Big oversight from Shokz
Sad.. i ave the jvc, wich super in much ways, but horrible uncomfortable😢
I use Aftershokz opencomm when i ride my bike because sometimes i need to answer to my calls. But some people told me that they heard me well and some people told me that they can't hear almost anything. Also the sound is pretty weak. Please give me an advice : what should i purchase because i want a new headphones, good mic in calls, decent sound and to hear the environment when i ride on my bike. Thanks for you help ! Great reviews and videos !
Thank you! I honestly wouldn't recommend open earbuds for calls on a bike. You get so much external noise and wind spoiling calls. Open earbuds are great for cycling (and safe) but just not good for calls.
If you still want an open design though, I think you could just get lucky and find a pair that's 'good enough'. So maybe start with the call winner and see if that's an improvement over the opencomm. Could you buy from somewhere with a good return policy, for example?
What would you recommend for podcasts and calls?
Probably 1More. Best for calls, and all of them are good enough for podcasts
I just bought the s50's and I have watched almost all reviews on it and many people mention the burn in of the buds... my question is, did you do the full burn in? Several places mention the 12 hour burn in.... but that is for only 1 of 4 phases...each 12 hours long!!! that is 48 hours playing frequencies while your phone is busy with it.... did you do this in order to do a full and complete review?
Don't worry about it. This is the type of thing that can be useful for ultra high-end headphones, but it's not necessary here with these earbuds. The feature wasn't implemented specifically for the earbuds, it's a 1More feature they often add in to the app, but it makes a negligible amount of difference to the sound quality. I tested it out to completion purely for the sake of being thorough (and because 1More has a history of app bugs) but I couldn't hear any difference whatsoever. I've got a pair that I didn't do the burn in with side by side with the ones I did...no difference.
So you can ignore it
Great quality review! I just bought a pair of Aerofit Pro and cannot find the "triple pressure" control (nor the auto volume adjustment).. Did you use some kind of firmware magic to have it there?
Thank you! I assume you have an iPhone, right? For some strange reason those features are only showing on the Android version of the app
@@insidetechltd it's actually an old Huawei running Android 10... Pity it's not available to everyone
That'll be why then - needs to be the latest version of the app too
Thank you so much for the super thorough review, really great content!
With what I have seen here, agree on the 1MORE being the best product overall. I am looking at some earbuds for working all day in the office or at home, walking / running and ideally, to also ski with them while wearing a helmet (hence the absolute necessity of open-ears for keeping situational awareness). Seems like the JBL's could grip the ear more, the Shokz's would interfere less with the helmet due to size, and the 1MORE's just in between these 2 in both categories (plus the larger ear gels for better grip)... A very specialized question but, do you think 1MORE's would ok in these scenarios, specially for skiing?
At some degree, I guess the helmet would sort of lock the earbuds into place. Thanks again!
Thanks a lot!
So although I agree with you about the grip on JBL, I would personally try and prioritise the comfort and fit underneath that helmet. JBL's might cause you an issue since they're thicker. The 1MORE ear hooks are actually even thinner than Shokz, so it might actually be those that fit best under a helmet. I'm not sure about your particular one, but I expect the helmet is going to press against any of the earbuds you try - so it might be the case that none of these is any good (sorry, I don't have a ski helmet to test this out and my bike helmet sits above my ears, so it isn't affected).
You're right in that the helmet might 'lock' them into place but I do have some comfort concerns - just don't want you to be disappointed if they don't fit underneath!
@@insidetechltd sure, yeah it's just an "ideal" solution that I want to try out, but I am well aware that it might just not end up nicely. Either way these seem like a terrific product for a lot of other purposes!
I will put a reminder to update here about the ski case once I buy and test them :)
Thanks a lot!
Are any of these suitable for long hours of telephone calls?
Is those high qualty open airbud made and how many hours it will last at single charge
Yes they are. All the battery info is listed on screen for each of them
Does the 1more s50 automatically switch to mono if you are only using one ear?
So what i've found is that if I'm using both and I put one back in the case, it doesn't always switch to mono. However if I only take one out of the case to start with, it'll be on mono. When I take the second one out it can take a while to switch over to stereo again. So I guess the answer is that you can definitely have mono playback using only one, but the automatic 'switching' is not very reliable
Which pair has the loudest volume i work in a noisy environment, im tired of stuff in my ears so im seeking an open type i purchased the JBL ones but it wasn't loud enough
Shokz are the loudest of these 5. But because of the difference in sound signature it does vary. They seem the loudest because the mids and upper mids are the loudest (but some of the other frequencies may technically be quieter)
@@insidetechltd thank you
I can't find information on this ANYWHERE. What happens if you want to use earbuds for audiobooks, and need to be able to skip forward / backward 30 seconds or so, instead of next / previous track??
You'll have to use your phone, unfortunately. Most earbuds will skip podcasts, and don't have fast forward or rewind functionality
Thank you for your quick reply! I'll bet somebody could make a lot of money putting out audiobook earbuds.... hint hint :) @@insidetechltd
Agreed 💯
Bone conduction was enough. I’m not letting people discredit this amazing this device.
Hi! Do you know if the JBL connect to the laptop too?
Yes, they'll connect with most laptops
Thank you very much!
Jbl soundgear vs shokz openfit, which one is better?
maybe jbl
SoundCore AeroFit Vs SoundPEATS GoFree2 which one to be good or your review on this
AeroFit are better. Better controls and slightly better sound quality
@@insidetechltd Thanks, your reply is very beneficial for me take my decision 🙏
@@insidetechltd Thanks, it's multi device connectivity is very good and seamless switch over. Very balanced sound quality.
Did you try the Tozo Openbuds?
Great video, btw!
Thank you! I did, yes. I would put them into the same category as the SoundPeats go free 2: a good budget option but not on the same quality level as the ones in the video 👍🏼
Just returned my tozo o2... they sucked big time. The JBL in 100x better than the tozos
If my TV is on in the background would people I am speaking to hear the TV from any of these headsets ? Thanks.
Honestly it depends on how loud the TV is and how close you are to it. You should be able to have a conversation with any of these though
how good is the audio compared to normal buds? meaning: is the 5 of the shokz worth a 5 on the normal earbuds scale or is it more like a 3?
Open-ear audio is considerably less immersive and less rich in bass compared to in-ear designs. It's a very different experience and hard to compare directly. Remember that the '5' in this video only refers to 5th place out of these 5 featured earbuds. It's not a score out of 10
Have you ever reviewed Emeet open ear earbuds?
No, not tested those
can you hear what what isbeing said in podcasts in noisy environments?
It could be difficult if it's a very noisy environment - you'll probably want to crank the volume to max
Suggest you try the Soundpeat Go Free 2
Already got those! They’re not on the same quality level as these 5. But maybe a good budget-friendly alternative
I wish they would combine rhe open ear design with a lossless 2.4ghz dongle for gaming. I would buy day one.
That would be cool 👌🏼
Are openrock pro more comfortable than 1more s50? The s50 hurts back of my ears and concha
Comfort is subjective, but I would say definitely not. OpenRock Pro are much bigger, heavier and bulkier - and therefore less comfortable
@@insidetechltdIc, what about Aerofit Pro?
I want sth that doesn't touch the concha and looser earhooks would be nice
And less pressure on top of ear
AeroFit Pro are more comfortable than openrock, but not nearly as comfortable as 1MORE
Wich sound better, the jbl soundgear or the tozo openbuds?
JBL Soundgear Sense 👍🏼
I was hoping to get the opinion of someone who had tried both. The form factor looks identical ( almost as though they are the same bud, branded up for both companies), but at double the price, I'd hope the jbl's would be packing better hardware.
JBL by far! Tozo were junk. I returned them.
JBL look just like the Tozos except much more expensive. Tozos currently under 50 quid with free returns so gonna give them a go first.
Me too, let us know how they are.
I have the Tozo OpenEgo and I really like them. Great sound, fantastic call quality. Like most Open air buds the bass is not impressive but the sound is very good. I have not compared them to more expensive sound-wise. But the price was right...I bought the black and the white pair for $39 each.
@@webzuluog3674 Thank you, I bought some on the strength of your review, they are much better than I thought, the bass is very impressive, and the rest is well rounded.
Why would you say the range on Bluetooth changes by version? Bluetooth is 10 meters or 33 feet depending on your environment
Because the bluetooth range does vary by version 🤷♂️
@@insidetechltd Commercial electronics, including most smartphones, headphones, earbuds, and portable speakers, fall into class 2, which gives them a range of about 33 feet.
Which are best in ear? For all days use for telephone calls?
My earbuds awards video has the best in-ear earbuds for phone calls 👍🏼
Jbl, shokz or huawei freeclip?
Not tested Huawei's new open buds yet
My ears are very sensitive. Can’t wear buds anymore. I watch RUclips and aside sleeper. What do you think would be best for me. Thank you
Honestly I really wouldn't find any of these comfortable for side sleeping. Shokz is the most comfortable, but even that wouldn't be good for laying on - sorry!
Thank you 😊
Sir which better for calls ???
Did you watch the video? He states clearly which set are the best for phone calls. 12:02
Am not good for English. I thinck shokz open fit right ?@@kiwigirlNZ
I saw again and ok 1 more fit ... Thanx
Need application for Shokz Openfit in Turkey !!! ???
aldın mı abi
Evet. Çok memnunum. Shokz openfit bana göre en konforlu model. 1 More s50 de iyi. Uygulaması var. Shokz için Uygulama Türkiye de henüz yok. Volume ayarını akıllı saatten yapıyorum.
No soundleak test? Using these for calls/streaming with a condenser mic.... Need a soundleak test.
It's a nice idea, especially for this type of earbuds - i'll try and do it in future for these types of videos
I like the Tozo I got on Amazon so far
Nice!
SHOKZ RULES!!!!
Soundpeats?
A good budget option, but not as good as these
What about neckbands?
I can review those if people are interested!
I bought the 1MORE because of this video and was utterly disappointed by them because of the terrible touch controls. They're extremsly unresponsive; easily the worst touch controls of any gadget I've ever owned. ★☆☆☆☆
Plus, the sound is low. None sounds better than the aerofit Pro. I kept these, the rest I returned for my refund👍🏾👍🏾
@@naimsalahuddin-bey2919I’ve found the beats Powerbeats pro for the win
I love my onemore they sound excellent . I can run with them and game
Jbl💪💪💪
Is it annoyingly loud for others around them?
Honestly it depends on how loud you have them. If you're sat in a quiet place, then probably yes. But generally I would say it's not bad. Maybe walking past someone they might briefly be able to hear you're listening to something, but I wouldn't say that's an issue
$229 for open ear buds. No way I would probably lose one of them.
At least they have ear hooks to lower the chance of that happening 🤷♂️
Best open ear for construction workers?
Yes I'm interested in this aswell
Are they annoying if you wear glasses
1MORE and Shokz not at all. The others...possibly. I personally find them ok even with glasses, but some may find the thicker ear hooks more annoying
I wear glasses with the Shokz and never had any issue. Never even come to my mind there could be an issue! First time I heard about the other earbuds. I rarely use them for listening to music, most of my listening is voice .
@@insidetechltdhow about the jbl with glasses?
Sound core eurofit pro bestest evererrrrrrr
I had the JBL and they’re crap JUNK I bought 3 of them and gave out two of them And friends I gave them out to told me the same thing they still have them but they are crap
Sorry to hear that!
None of them. They're all bad. You're welcome.
Ok...what are the best then?
@@insidetechltd I already said none of them, they're all bad. Since you can't read though, repeating myself is pretty pointless isn't it?
How can “none” be the best? Do you understand what “best” means?
@@insidetechltd lol yes, do you? None of them are the best. They are all equally terrible. All share not the best place. The best of a bad bunch would be pointless to decide since they're all still objectively bad.
