Played this on PC where I could actually use my $300 headset and 4k monitor. Absolutely beautiful game. The part with the giant pyramid actually inspired fear in me to a point where I needed to pauses and take my headset off cause I realized i was breathing heavy.
I played this already on ps4, it was great. I played on a big screen tv with my headphones on, I'm not sure playing it in handheld would deliver the same sense of epicness.

I've just completed this game on Switch and it is definitely underwater Journey (not that that's a bad thing). But my experience was slightly ruined by the music becoming very crackly throughout all the most significant scenes. Has anyone else noticed this with the Switch version?
I mean!!! I don’t even know where to begin!! This game is such a beautiful experience!!! You want a calm soothing place to be in?? This game is it for me! Get your headphones on and get lost in the ocean 🌊
I’m intimidated by the ocean as well. I think it’s beautiful but I prefer to look at it. I think this game will allow us thalassophobiaks to explore it from the safety of our living room!
Truly lovely game, except that you didn't mention how HORRIFYING it can be! I might just have issue with underwater, but felt so epicly betrayed by the game when that first shark shows up. Sad to think that Journey won't ever make it to the Switch, I think it's forever locked to PS.
Hehe I didn't want to spoil too much, buy you're right. I never felt under threat from the sealife myself, it was the"other" things I was worried about. (Mark)
I was watching the eShop trailer last night and I closed the video as soon as I saw it quoting PewDiePie. Now that I have Mark's opinion, though, this is going into my wishlist. It seems very nice, but I wouldn't pay it so much. I'll wait for a sale far from SSB. :P
When you get an indie game that's not mainstream be in the top charts on the switch eshop you tend to wonder who and where they are. It feels weird knowing that they've kind of joined together into this comment section.
This game is appalling on the Nintendo Switch. The frame rate is not steady. There’s no blur from frame to frame, which seriously would’ve helped. And then there is the worst part… There is something seriously wrong with the implementation of the audio, especially in regards to the Music. It’s incredibly harsh and loud, peaking at times, causing audible distortion. This is a fail of a port and a disservice to the original game.
For real it's crazy this review doesn't mention it... wouldn't say it ruined the experience for me but yeah that was quite annoying especially near the end. And you're clearly not the first person I see mentioning this issue.
Utterly shocked this review doesn't talk about the TERRIBLE audio quality of this port. The audio gets so saturated when the sound or music gets loud it's rather awful, and I've seen so many people noticing it as well. I wouldn't say it ruined the experience (game is very short), but some parts get really unpleasant near the end (the credits song is almost unlistenable honestly). I don't know what happened, but I can't believed this issue wasn't brought up in this review. You can even hear this saturation in some parts of the video, I thought this was maybe just YT but nah it's the same in the game... how did they forgot to talk about this ? Or maybe they didn't noticed it which seems unbelievable. In the end another one of these "if you can do it on something else than the Switch, do it" games. Still had a good time but they messed up bad with the audio.
What about the audio! Its so bad its almost unplayable. What an awful job they have done mastering this dreadful port if an absolutely stunning game. Also sceptical if that's actually switch footage 🤔 I have just finished it (with the sound off) and it looks NOTHING like that.
IGN complaining there’s too much water in Abzu is like complaining that space has too many stars. Oh really? What are you gonna do about it? Take the stars out of space?

I’m intimidated by the ocean as well. I think it’s beautiful but I prefer to look at it. I think this game will allow us thalassophobiaks to explore it from the safety of our living room!
@@shannonglover5444 You just won the language award for the day! (Mark)
@@shannonglover5444 haha exactly! Explore the ocean....from the comfort of our beds. It does look like a really cool game
though I'm not a fan of "walking sims" or plain exploration games there was another similar game I was suprised I ended up enjoying. Valley.
(Mark)
Its on sale right now in the uk e shop
I'm not sure if I would like this or not. Because I always hated the underwater levels in most games. But this game takes place entirely underwater.
Hehehe yeah probably not their best quote haha! Thanks though, I appreciate the compliment! (Mark)
Omg, exact same thing happened to me last night!
I did the exact same thing a few days ago, hahaha!! I can't stand that twat.
So this is underwater Journey?
shinsekai into the depths some review??

“Immersive” Ha!
Beautiful game
It really is!! (Mark)
I forgot to mention... Its 15 dollars now
Nice game but i highly recommend Endless Ocean on the wii.
Its like Shinsekai in a 3D kind of way
I wish there was a mobile port as well
How much are your cinema tickets?
When you get an indie game that's not mainstream be in the top charts on the switch eshop you tend to wonder who and where they are. It feels weird knowing that they've kind of joined together into this comment section.
How does this compare with Subnautica?
Not played that I'm afraid. (Mark)
This game is appalling on the Nintendo Switch. The frame rate is not steady. There’s no blur from frame to frame, which seriously would’ve helped. And then there is the worst part…
There is something seriously wrong with the implementation of the audio, especially in regards to the Music.
It’s only 1GB? Damn!
Great game. Mark
Yeah! I feel like having something this beautiful and immersive right in my face on my Switch will be perfect too.
Does anyone know if I can get this on the switch in Australia?I WANT IT SO BAD😂
380 Hammes Creek
What about the audio! Its so bad its almost unplayable. What an awful job they have done mastering this dreadful port if an absolutely stunning game. Also sceptical if that's actually switch footage 🤔 I have just finished it (with the sound off) and it looks NOTHING like that.
You still can't be echo the dolphin Sega CD soundtrack
IGN complaining there’s too much water in Abzu is like complaining that space has too many stars. Oh really? What are you gonna do about it? Take the stars out of space?
This is £1.49 on eshop right now
